I suggest you watch a few video-tutorials on drawing. Tsitra360 has a few great ones.

While gitting gud is a result of long-time effort, as a newbie you can improve tremendously quickly by just learning a couple of guidelines and techniques.
Then you'll be able to see for yourself whether or not your growth motivates you to learn drawing more seriously.
