Hello horsefuckers! I am doing a semi-closed alpha for a game project I’m working on called “Within the Hinterland” You may have see this in the content creators thread, and yes it’s the same game.
I’m looking for playtesters to start molding the game into the best it can be. I’ve been working on and off this project for the last 8 months, so I am the least qualified person to say if its good or not. That’s where you guys come in, because I know you fagots are good at giving your true opinions without any remorse.

>What is the game?
Within the Hinterland is a survival RTS (real time strategy). It’s all about collecting as many resources as possible and using them wisely. Enemies will attack during the night. This is where you need to use your resources to build up a base and protect the fire. The fire is what keeps you alive and playing. The fire will supply health every few seconds you stand by it, along with powering the turrets you build. Once it’s burnt out, no more health and no more turrets.
>How to play
The “How to play” button is broken in-game on purpose, I’m still building a tutorial.
Movement: WASD, arrow keys
Dash: Space
Shooting: Left mouse button
Cut Trees: Right mouse button (must be aimed towards tree)
Spawn shield: Mouse Wheel Button
Craft arrows: Q / click on value
Craft shields: E / click on value
Craft Fences: Toggle with “1” on grid by fire
Craft Turrets: Toggle with “2” on grid by fire
Close grid building: Tab
Use adrenaline: R
Pause: Escape
>enemies
There are 3 types of enemies you will face. A bear, horse, and bat-like creature. The bear is slower but stronger. The horse is faster but weaker. The bat isn’t effected by walls.
>inb4 where is the sound
Music and sound effects are being produced by pegasYs. I haven’t gotten permission to show off the work yet.
I will be adding later into the game a feature that will let the community add their own messages for an easter egg in the game.
This easter egg will be in the form of a message in bottle and will be randomly placed in the game world. Once the player finds the bottle, a message will display. The message is text that is downloaded from a server. What this means is that I can update the file on the server and provide new messages to players without having them re-download the game. I already made 3 to get things rolling, but I trust you guys to make them a pleasent time to find…

This is now, what, the third generic early-early-alpha pony themed game someone has peddled here this month? Fourth?
Point is, never seen these go anywhere period. All I can say is good luck, I guess.

Is this Don't Starve but with ponies?

It's sad really. lot of people fall into the indie spiral. I've almost done it a few times. It happens. Everyone thinks their a game designer until they have to actually do the work
>>30612983
Art style yes. Game play no.
>>30612983
It sure looks this way.
>>30612778
I'll check it out OP, if only for the quotes.
>>30613023
Quotes will be in the next update... just getting the main mechanics senpai
So how exactly do I place a turret, I can get to the grid but nothing I do will let me place it down?
>>30613086
Shit forgot to include that. Right mouse button
Is there a way to kindle the fire with wood?
Dash needs a longer cooldown since you can basically just spam it and outrun anything.
Also should include price... couldn't fit in original post..
//fences
basic: 5 wood
plank: 15wood
log: 30 wood
//turrets
arrow: 50 wood
ballista: 100 wood
catapult: 200 wood
once grid is visible, use right mouse button to spawn base objects
>>30613150
>kindle fire
no, then the player could just spam it full of wood and basically live forever.
>longer cool down
I agree. I'll keep it in mind.
>>30612821
What's the point of having quotes if you're just gonna disallow everything? Fuck off faggot.
>>30613213
Just a fun easteregg, a way for the community to take part in the game. Rules really arn't that strict. Just don't want to target any community/staff members.
Plus it's just an easteregg, it's not like it's a major part of the game.
Pretty bare-bones right now, not sure why you'd need play testers tbqh

It's never too early to play test.
Bump out of curiosity
