Does anyone else equate inconsistencies in plot or character to in universe events that we are not privy to rather than to shit writing?
Lets say a character is acting different to normal. Instead of thinking 'This writer can't write her properly' I'd think 'I wonder what happened outside of the episode to make her act this way'
Might just be my obsessive autism.
>I desperately seek to pull straws in vain hope that one day I might forget that the show is a show with writers being paid with money and led by a toy manufacturing group of which the very show itself is based upon.
It's not worth it.

While I won't say that I definitively try to justify why characters act out of character, I think it is a fun creative exercise.
At the same time, I know out of character moments happen to everyone, sometimes even when the author is better than making simple mistakes.

Equestria is worth everything.
