End of 2012/start of 2013 is when I began to lose hardcore interest big time. It was between season 3 and Equestria Girls that did it for me. That and the fact that I had dumped so much investment and time already. I still watch and enjoy the show, but I absolutely do not give 2 fucks about the retarded fandom or any of the other bullshit.

It turned to shit because it wasn't meant to last a second or even a third season. They know that, so they've rehashed the formula with the same exact fucking main character, just with a palette swap and rebranding.

Hype. That's about it. The show is significantly better now than it was in the first two seasons.

Let me put it this way: remember how much everyone hated the CMC in season 1 and how they are pretty close to fan favorites now. That is one of the many signs the show is written better now.

Because the Golden Age of the Pony fandom was from the summer of 2011 to late 2012.

The Alicorn Wars that happened in early 2013 was what led to the overall decline of the ride and everything in it, and it didn't end until Season 7 started.

Maybe the movie will give us a last hurrah. I'd love to experience another age of growth with many more people returning or being new to the fandom.
