It's time for the next generation of Ponies. They are probably working on the next gens toyline right now. Once the new toyline hits stores then FIMs time is numbered, because they want to advertise the new toys and not the old toys. Chances are pretty good that the new show with new characters will launch not soon after the toys hit stores to create a surge of publicity.

It won't be a reboot of FiM. It'll be a new generation hopefully we'll see some of our favorite ponies return in the next generation. However the thing is we have to also hope that the next show continues what Lauren and G4 started and not return to the overly saccharine styles of G3-3.5.

I would be disappointed if that is so, I'd like to start following a different group of characters and a new universe.

That said, they don't have to stop everything about G4 when they start doing G5. The world in G4 has a lot of room for new locations and stories.
