Is this board better with no roleplay?
>>30534241
I think nobody here knows the definition of the word roleplay
>>30534241
if only this board could be allowed to be make a general of random roleplay or something
damn,I wonder what's the definition of fun for the average faggot these days
I can't complain about comfyness though
>>30534241
Yes twiggles, the board has shown noticeable quality improvement since the crackdown on it don't you know? Now will you please let me go?
>>30534265
>roleplay
Delete this
>>30534241
roleplay is autistic and tends to attract some really disturbing individuals
>>30534241
If you're talking about the random green text prompts, I like those. Better than the 27k generals plaguing this board.

I would definitely say so. Why else do you think we unanimously hate roleplaying threads? Why else do you think it's against the rules?
>>30534359
>we
>>30534359
I'm not really seeing the impact, quite honestly.
>>30534382
He's a shitposter, don't enable him with a (you)
>>30534382
Remember the countless HI ANON threads that were nothing but shitposting? Imagine that x150 if the roleplaying rule were to be lifted. The undeniable truth is, roleplaying is cancer and contributes nothing valuable to the board.
>>30534457
Sounds like heaven to me.
You're just an idiot
>>30534241
Well there has been less shitty prompt threads that end up becoming cancerous generals that refuse to die as of late.
However the board feels slow and dead without the sporadic thread that may end up bringing content or just being plain fun.
Not to mention it seems mods rather act swiftly on prompts but let bait/shitpost threads stay up.
Is there anyway to diffuse this situation?
>>30534241
*this is roleplay*
>this is a prompt
Know the difference, it could save you from looking like a gigantic faggot!
>>30534359
You're removing quality out of the equation
.
Some RP threads like Healthy Candy or Raggie actually put some effort into their role, in contrast of the HI ANON bullshit you see everywhere.
Roleplaying can be done right
>>30534241
All sorts of faggots appeared ever since you lot started sperging on prompt threads. In their place we get threads with forced memery. e.g. "Cuckshed, trap mares, etc"
>>30534477
Problem is, prompts lead to generals and everyone hates generals. Take "[>IT HURTS]" for example, which has been going on for what, two or three years now and it started with ONE FUCKING PROMPT.

>>30534496
What the problem is is that now trashfags are shitting on prompts which means there's no new blood, so now preexisting generals, no matter how dead they are, are kept alive by people trying to hold on to their past creative freedoms. You already have one foot in the door, why step back and risk it closing?
I'm sure if a better concept came along that drew their attention, they'd finally let it die, but that's not going to happen any time soon with us chasing away anybody willing to create content or inspire said creators.
Remember, every general, be it 10 threads or 1000, started off as a shitty prompt once upon a time.
This board will never fully agree on what's shitting up this community.
>>30534559
At this point the only solution is to delete /mlp/ and go back to one thread on /co/. But of course that'll never happen due to GR15 and its role as maintaining the integrity of the site.
>>30534496
>Was about to say [>IT HURTS] hasn't been around for more than a year
>January 2016
Huh. A year and a half.
>>30534583
/mlp/ has outgrown /co/. It might have worked years ago but instead this board has too much OC to its name to stay in one small thread.
>>30534583
I find it fascinating how you can post Isis executions on /b/ but you're hit with a ban if you post ponies anywhere outside of here
>>30534462
Sounds like Ponychan to me.
You're just an Autist.
>>30534596
/b/ allowing snuff is nothing new.
>>30534591
Except all that OC is cancer. Generals, roleplaying, "hurr durr stick dick in pony" greentexts, etc. The fandom is on its last legs and I think it's about time we put the ride behind us and just pop up on /co/ whenever someone wants to discuss the show and the show only. Because at the end of the day, MLP is just another cartoon. We laughed, we cringed, we cried, now it's about time we died.

>>30534727

>>30534728
Is it wrong to be a shitposter, friendo?
>>30534241
No. This board is fucking dull and uninteresting. It's just 90% generals. Allowing roleplaying would at least add something to the board.
>>30534496
>Problem is, prompts lead to generals and everyone hates generals.
Not always. This only happens one in every many prompts, and those who try to make one into a general force it heavily. Plenty of anons know prompt-spawned general #1 is where it goes to shit, and there's usually a backlash in there when it does happen.
It's surprising how well prompt threads contain themselves with so many of them covering different subjects, yet remember /mlp/ can occasionally fail to spot the few autists that pop up at the end of a thread insisting on making a new thread/general. Their behavior is exactly the cause of this situation and needs to be shown for what it is. A terrible idea that only causes great degradation to the prompt's premise and content, as well as the board.eqg prompt threads promote generals and do this really fucking often in comparison, they really need to cut that shit out
>>30534241
It is kind of a strange situation, isn't it? No one really gave a shit about roleplay before, but when the "HI ANON!" threads were about the only damn thing on the board they decided to ban it altogether. Kinda feels like they spoiled it for all of us.
I mean, if there ponysquare level shit on here, yeah, I'd want a complete and total ban on roleplay. Goofy little prompts to fill the hiatus void can be fun though.
Almost seems like a "HI ANON!" rule would've been more effective.
>>30534507
>Silent majority
Oh yeah, because opinion is so forced down and kept silent here, on this anonymous imageboard?
>>30534491
This.
First it was Glimmy getting her clit cut off or whatever, then it was those three mares who fawned over that pretty boy in the Sugar Belle episode, now I've seen Lyra getting meme'd for eating bugs or something.
You want to talk about no effort? Look at what we got now. The answer is an /mlpg/, but god knows that'll never happen.
>>30535179
This. Also, as >>30534249 stated, those "ruleposters" have no fucking clue what roleplay is and what isn't. What they do on /trash/ is roleplay. A greentext prompt isn't roleplay. It's a greentext prompt. Also, more often than not, those "HI ANON" threads were usually greentext prompts too, except the greentext wasn't in the OP. It was more like OP kinda just shat out a single sentence, and any Anon would be able to convey and write it as he felt. It was much too easy and incentivized shitty, memey jokes moreso than acting as an actual prompt though, so a more concise ban on "HI ANON" would still make sense.
>>30534457
>Remember the countless HI ANON threads that were nothing but shitposting?
Yeah, those were inifinitely more fun than all these asstastic CYOAs and generals slowly strangling the board.
>>30534589
Literally only has 1 writer now.
He was one of the only two good ones.
>>30534241
No. It has more show hating threads now.
>>30534241
Well, I've always thought of roleplay as people becoming characters and acting out roles as those characters. I don't really recall ever seeing that happen, so I don't think it's much of a concern. If you mean the greentext >HI ANON! or similar prompts, then they can be fun sometimes, and having them around doesn't exactly hurt. The ones that don't get traction will fall off, and overall the spontaneity is kind of nice. It seems better than forcing the same idea 24/7 in a general type thread.
>>30534241
In all honesty, no. The prompts and rps kind of keep the board alive. The random shit produced every day adds life and contributions to the board and expressed creativity. Now everything here is based on heavy criticism, cyoas, and general threads, the potential creativity feels like it's having constipation, and when it does come out, it's small and it gets destroyed by the large, swirling pile of shit that lays on the board which continues it's days of immortality.
>>30534241
My problem with the no roleplay rule is that greentext prompts got bunched up with it. That's one of the worst decisions the mods made and the board is no better for it.
I miss the days of checking /mlp/ for new green threads to enjoy and relax with. Now all we have for green is stagnating generals.
>>30534241
Yes. The glimmer boop spam threads stopped when the ban came down.
>>30535350
""""""mares""""""
>>30537263
The second scruffening was months before season 6 even started airing newfag.
>>30534241
Did it chase off the shit-lapping autistic faaggots?
No.
Kinda pointless rule then.
It is better without roleplay, but roleplay had its moments.
>>30537440
Second Scruffening was March 28-29 in 2016. That was just a few days after the S6 premiere.
>>30537975
that day was really slow
I couldn't get what was happening until that Hi Anon sticky appeared. And I was still confused,2 or 3 meta threads explained it but that morning was so cold in the catalog...
