Well,here you have the pencil drawing I posted in the last thread. I wanted to see Twilight sleeping and I had to do it for myself.

It looks simple and cheap,yet it took me hours for it and to not fuck it up(I wonder how some anons draw perfectly in minutes).

She didn't really have a choice though. It's true that Starlight is her first pupil but it's more due to circumstances than anything. Twilight wasn't exactly looking for a pupil before that, in fact from what we've seen of her lecture in S5 finale her studies seemed to be targeted at general public, not on tutoring someone specific. It's even more reinforced by the fact that she's not really the greatest teacher, she has no experience and she's barely even out of Celestia's tutoring herself. That's not a bad thing but it's severely underplayed in the show. Starlight was an opportunity to take a pupil and a necessity to keep a villian reformed and under control. What else was she supposed to do? Twilight wasn't about to just let her run wild unchecked, the best way to make sure Starlight doesn't fuck everything up is to keep her close. Even then it doesn't really work but at least she's not fucking up timelines and stuff, just local damage that's easy to control.

I agree that Starlight is a really special case and the fact that it actually turned out pretty good is nice. Twilight's forceful hug therapy works wonders, I don't think anyone else could've done it. There is no doubt in Twilight's mind about Starlight, even in her fantasies in CA Twilight never even thinks about faulting her pupil for anything that happens there. We get to see how Twilight actually sees Starlight in these kind of situations - she takes pride in her and is confident in Starlight's ability in terms of friendship.

Twilight does worry a lot and so it seems like she doesn't believe in Starlight but I think it's exactly her worry that's telling of how much she actually cares. Too bad there's barely any actual friendship and bonding shown between them, HWT was pretty good but that's about it, I wouldn't mind a slower SoL episode about them. Something about how different their approach to magic is would be good as well.

A peaceful and relaxed state is just easier to imagine but I do both and I honestly can't even decide. I guess it really depends on the mood. Sometimes a comfy ambience is just so in tune with your inner state you can't help but being entranced by that fantasy of having someone close to you who's equally sensitive to it and can partake in silent bonding like that. But sometimes the feelings just can't be contained and you want to express them in any affectionate way - even if they won't reach her it still feels satisfying to say and do all the loving things.
