In all seriousness, the only way it could make sense to go to Equestria with your waifu when you die is if there is a loving God who creates that universe as an afterlife for you.

If you go to Equestria when you die, it can be by nothing less than the grace of God. Anons who hope for Equestria after death hope in God.

Personally I'd prefer it to be the relatively safe haven that makes sense the most. The ponies are all mostly happy creatures, herds are a thing albeit rare, interspecies relationships happen occasionally, etc etc.
As for timeline I think pre-S3 would be the best, but if it had to be post-coronation, probably pre-S5.
