It's mostly that it's 2-3 weeks between updates which means that any overarching plot gets lost. The comic held up pretty good when updates were regular and Bencils acted like the professional he is aspiring to become. Now it just feels haphazard and you loose any sense of narrative.

Either go slice of life or the update needs to come more frequently and on a predictable basis. The only other alternative would be to release chapters a few times a year, but that is probably impossible due to the effect it would have on the Patreon money-grab.

I also really liked the comic when it had a professional and regular update schedule. It was the main driving force for wanting to support Bencils that he seemed to take his comics seriously and wanted to make it a living. I respect that. I also enjoyed the comic quite a lot.

That's why I'm sad now that much of what I saw as support-worthy has gone to the shitter.

Back problems are a little more acceptable since it can be hard to make contingencies for, but generally physical therapy will prevent and resolve a majority of back issues related to working posture.

You are aware I never said the comic was shit? If I though so, I wouldn't be here arguing. What I said was that the things that made it stand out and made me want to support the comic - aka. the regular update schedule and professionalism - has gone down the shitter in the last months. I get it that it's hard when people shit on your art since it's such a subjective and personal thing, but you can't possibly become annoyed that people point out factual things such that updated have gone from stable and punctual to irregular and infrequent. If you read between the lines my first post was actually defending the consistency of your storytelling. I didn't even want to bring up the fucking Patreon but of course as soon as you voice an inkling of critique you get the storm of "hurr durr the comic free y u complain?=?".

I defended the comic and it's contents in itself, but expressed my personal disappointment in how the previously professional and ambitious release schedule now is as infrequent and irregular as most other run of the mill fan-comics out there.

I usually avoid mentioning patreon, as it implies that you are some kind of dancing monkey just because i throw some shekels your way every month. But when the same old "hurr durr you don't pay it's free you can't have any opinion about the comic"-anon shows his ugly face I get a little triggered.

I don't think you should call patreon E-begging per se. There is quite a lot of reputable full-time content creators who get a majority of their funding from Patreon, but what separates them from the E-beggars is that they generally produce a stable amount of content that's easily correlated to the amount of revenue they take in from patreon. Then it's no longer e-begging but a business funding model.

I can see why it's disappointing to no longer have the same release time but I'm not sure what purpose acknowledging it has. Does Pencils have a solution?
