I don't even remember when I started coming on this board. The years just slipped by...

Even in 2014 the board had changed quite a lot from the "original /mlp". That being said, 2014 was a good year, the board has become a lot more miserable since then largely because of a combination of mods unintentionally herding people into extremely specific generals by means of limiting the type of threads they can make even further and the acceptance of posters to remain in them. The board has activity, you just have to sadly find some niche subject to find it, making it a pretty boring place at times

But also, the board has been pretty good with general MLP discussion as of late (better than it has been in a while, since new content) and also porn wasn't allowed in 2014, so shut the hell up I realize now you're just trolling

Believe it or not but people lose interest in things and the ride WILL eventually end

I've seen /mlp/ from the start. The primary thing that really killed this board was having anons that were actually enjoyable replaced with giant faggots who came here from thread simulators or thought it would be an epic place to share unnecessary greentexts. Because of this, the humor and culture of this board has been emulated to the point if it meaning absolutely nothing. Another issue arises when these threads and generals you would normally see when everyone was bored on hiatus continue to sprawl this place during a brand new season, thus showing more faggots preferring to write about the show than actually watching it. The final problem that faces this board (and I would say this is a problem with 4chan in general) is having most of the vocal anons prefer going into discord servers like MLPG, HCC and other thread general servers, as it is way easier to use an IM client than making posts in threads. MLPG is also a pretty good example of having this happen, which even I am guilty of preferring.

Do not listen to the faggots that make it out like /mlp/ hasn't changed at all.

Funny enough, being focused on one show for five years does wonders to creativity.

If you make any kind of creative thread outside of a respective fetish general or whatever you will be chastised, fact. And this one has more to do with the user base than the mods

There used to be all kinds of stupid, but creative, threads that got posted and in turn ended up being pretty fun or ending up providing creative, people are too cynical now about what's allowed to be posted or discussed regarding the show and characters

It's the show itself too, you know. There are the "nothing has changed it's all nostalgia" fags, but there was a thread a while back that posted a picture from a comic map of the "gelding grotto". The thread turned into castration fetish general because of fucking course it did, but it reminded me how big the MLP world felt back in the day.

On that map there were tons of interesting landmarks and warnings about monsters in the woods and in the hills. It felt unconquered, huge, and magical. But today we're all about our boutiques in Manehatten and princesses babysitting princesses for princesses. The show's really dumbed down. That big world isn't there anymore, doesn't feel there.

What's anybody going to write about? The sequel to Twilight babysitting her all-powerful niece? Pah. No, they're going to write porn about Twilight having a dick and getting it sucked.

The show itself has always been a slice of life plopped down into a fantasy world they never bothered to explore. This has been true since S1 when they chose to focus on what dress to wear to the gala and how hardworking AJ is instead of going on epic adventures around Equestria.

As a matter of fact later seasons have had far more worldbuilding and exploration as a whole. But nobody bothers to discuss it because they've become jaded and cynical. The show has changed for the better. We've changed for the worse.

What exactly kind of Stockholm syndrome is this? Shows get crappy when they go through a half dozen directors, a variety of producers, and tens of writers. It happens. It'd be weirder if the show still felt like it had a cohesive world after everything its production staff has been through.
