Probably second worst of the season so far, honestly. It had nothing to it, and what little conflict there was took too long to get to.

This shit episode also led to the cancer that is Fluttercord, not to mention reformed discord is really hit or miss.Though I admit I liked him a lot in the S6 finale
It's both a bad episode on its own rights and it has a horrible lasting impact.
That said, more news at eleven

I'm conflicted about that episode. On the one hand, it's probably the funniest episode in all of S3, on the other hand, the premise is really stupid.
>Celestia tasks Fluttershy with reforming Discord

>no reason

I know I shouldn't respond to bait, but I will.
Keep Calm and Flutter On is the best episode the show has ever produced. Not only is it amazingly funny with all of Discord's visual gags and personality, it exemplifies the core theme of the show better than any other episode. The episode itself recognizes this and even gives a title drop at the end where Discord says "Friendship is magic."
This moment in the show was the break away from needing the Elements to defeat their enemies. The fact that Discord was by far the most powerful villain on the show at that point and Fluttershy reformed him, not with a magic blast but by changing his mind through extraordinary kindness, cements the message of the show and should really have been the finale that season.
The storytelling was masterful and somehow largely avoided the pacing issues of such a big transformation. The whole episode sets up Fluttershy honestly trying to give Discord every charity call him friend despite his troublemaking, and we see his self-doubt begin to appear at the dinner. It was a perfect precursor to exchange where Fluttershy refuses to use the necklace on him but disowns the friendship and triggers Discord's revelation that having a friends matters to him. I will remember watching that moment the first time forever.

tl;dr
>>30406955
Kill yourself.
>>30406949
The table scene was the moment where Discord felt his first crush on a pony and this is why he wa sticking with Fluttershy ever since. At one point the show will focus on it.

Its the major episode of S3 and important part of the lore since it basically hint at Fluttershy future love interest just like in early S2.

Thank you, anon. I think it works even better with the rest of his arc until season 4.
