Equestrian ponies have genitals (and an anus), but they're protected beneath inward-folding layers of fur, skin and fat and only are visible when in use. Likewise, stallion anatomy is stored inside a retractable sheath, meaning Equestrians are kid-friendly unless they're actually going to the bathroom or fucking.

Very young ponies don't have good control over this and tend to just flop out whenever they feel the need to pee/poop, so they're usually given diapers both to contain the results and maintain decency.
