Hey everyone!

I've managed to add some extra features to the game since the last release, which I've listed below:

- Original music (currently just one track, more are on the way)

- Save/Load functionality. To make save scumming harder (and because it was hard enough to implement as is), you can only save the start of a scene you're already on. I tested it quite a bit, but can't be 100% sure it's bug-proof. Let me know if it screws up for you somehow, and I'll post how to fix issues (the game saves to your browser's local storage, it may need to be cleared in case of trouble).

- Added a new scene (currently more of a placeholder than anything) and a few more objects.

Upcoming features:

- More scenes. I would very much like to ask for some help with this though. Any ambitious writers in here who are currently free?

- Bimbo magic. This one will be tricky, may take a while since it will need visuals and triggers (which decide where the rest of the game branches off to), and this data will also need to be saveable. For testing purposes, it would also need more scenes and more branching, which brings me back to the point above: HELP WANTED.

For now I'm using Annon's pics as placeholders, and some of them included sequences (i.e a character going through three stages of bimbo TF). The idea is that you can use the book on them at either specific prompts, or any time you want (the latter would be harder to code and script), and it will make them start to change, which in turn will affect where the story goes.

As for the effect itself, don't expect anything dramatic, beyond maybe a bright pink flash, followed by the characters' avatars changing. Then again, if you want, you can try pestering Annon to make more elaborate ass-ets for me to work with.

I really didn't want to wait for Bimbo Thread to come back before making an update... but I've been very busy, got into the Absolver beta and just played that all damn week. ANYWAY, here's the update:

In this build:

-Lots of new HUD art assets and a background for the bedroom. Thanks Annon + Kyuunspiracy!
-Saves are a little easier to read, and now also show the location you saved from.
-Multiple characters on screen is now a thing that can happen, and does happen during part 3 of Twilight's story. Still don't have the character art changing during the conversation yet, which would be an easy way to illustrate who's talking. Alternatively, put a white outline around them? Gray out the one who's not talking? Not sure...
-Fixed layering bug when the location changing menu is open
-The Cell Phone update! In the top left is a cell button, poorly drawn by me. Clicking it opens, right click closes, like everything else. While it's open you can see all your contacts, and their stats. If you have their number, you will also be able click it to call them! Eventually. Right now it doesn't do anything, but you'll probably end up having the option to go on a date somewhere even if you can't find them on the map. I will definitely let you spend time just talking to them on the phone, which can also help raise your s-link.
-The conversation branching has already gotten a little complicated, what with you being able to contact Twi with or without story progress depending on time of day. So I've started a bug report thread on the itch.io for people to tell me what goes horribly wrong, as it's bound to happen.


Future plans:

-Allow keyboard controls for location changing and save access
-Add player stats to cell phone menu
-Tweak the game so Twilight's expression actually changes appropriately. It's not a lot of work, but everything else has been more important right now.

- The door looks really out of place. Gonna have to do something about it, like maybe adding and aura around and a dropshadow. Gonna look into it.

- Might as wanna make a title screen picture later on.

As for the ''who's speaking''. Having their name displayed is more than enough. But it'll be best to move their name from the middle to the left. The eyes read from left to right, so if the name is placed to the right, no one needs to look in the middle to figure out who's talking.

Like the cellphone to see their stats. As for icons, maybe just the same annonymous picture, but with different hues (purple for twilight, yellow for shy). And if they're bimbofied they get a pink stroke around that picture.
Or just crop their picture whatever goes.

Game's coming along nicely though, not sure if the loop at the end with cheerilee at SSC is a bug or that's just what the game does when you reach the end.

I considered just cropping the picture, though using anonymous contact icons would be a great placeholder. See, right now when you mouseover it, the description text loads up with a space above it where a picture could go. Color-coded anonymous icons should work... up until you get to know them a little better, and maybe they send you a pic that you load in to use instead.

THE LOOP IS A BUG WHOOPS

when the demo ends it should dump you into an open world area where you can walk about as you please even if there are no characters to talk to or interact with. I'll roll out an update fixing that tomorrow.

Gave it a shot myself. It's coming along rather nicely. One thing I'd point out is the save/load menu might be better with a "Back" button to click instead of using right-click to get out. The latter, to me personally, just feels unusual. With a console it might make sense, but even if I try to translate that to PC, the button that would come to mind would be Esc.

It's the 'everything I should have done a long time ago' update, now finally getting somewhere close to actual bimbo content.

In this build:
-Twilight's art now updates according to conversation progress. I haven't gone through and tested all the convos yet so I'm sure I fucked it up all over the place. Please report where it goes wrong... Her art also updates according to her bimbo level! Have fun with that, as this is the first bit of TF that is actually working in engine!
-You can now go to Sugarcube Corner and the Violet Room from the Location menu.
-You can now go to bed by clicking the heart on your bed. In a future update this will be replaced with an actual bed object.
-You can now raise your own stats! I've reset everyone's saves to encourage you to reroll, since the intro dialogue didn't actually change anything. Alternatively, edit the save yourself. I don't care. It's in appdata/CHS in some ini files.
-Computer has been added but it just causes problems right now... do not use it unless you want to risk putting your game in a no-progress state.
-There is now a Contact Image for Twilight. It starts out black, but shows her pic once you have her number. This image will be updated as she changes, or can be ultimately replaced by any pics she sends you.
-You can call Twilight! Talk, study, whatever. Dialogue needs to be written for this, and I must emphasize, do NOT call in the Evenings. Early Morning code needs to be reworked, so fucking with your night schedule can put your game in a no progress state.

Future plans:

-Maybe let you get better S-Link options based on your own stats? Will have to talk to C. Snacks about this...
-Allow keyboard controls for location changing
-Allow you to receive text messages, more locations and things to do in them
-NPCs. We desperately neat seat fillers to make the world seem a little more alive. We've got art, just need writing

I posted it on the itch, but here's an idea I had for the game's story.

>The EqG Discord is still a spirit of chaos and was sealed up like the normal one, but has been "woken up" by an influx of Equestrian magic. Still locked up, he can't do anything on his own, so to cause chaos he cut off bits of his power and spread them around with the directive to seek out people with the desire and will to change the world around them.
>If a bunch of selfish reality warpers battling it out to shape the world the way they want it won't cause enough chaos to get him out, nothing will.
>Whatever spirit sealed Discord (human Starswirl? Celestia and Luna's distant identical ancestors?) is trying to keep him locked up. They manage to grab a piece of the power, but had to immediately drop it like a hot potato into the nearest host they could find: the player.
>The player has a fetish for bimbos (obviously), so the power manifests as bimbo magic. Since they weren't sought out directly, they have the potential to restrain themselves if they choose.

- In SCC Twilight isn't smiling. Kinda imagining here it still takes a lot of time to make the character react to all these different answers.

Kinda like the idea of SCC being open 24 hours in this. Could give for some interesting ''Need to go somewhere at 3 am to clear the mind'' scenes. That could lead to an arc of Pinkie overworking herself or another character who goes there at that time.

What was very amusing was using the phone while right next to twilight in the library.

But it looks very well placed together so far, really coming a long way here, the user interface is also much more pleasant to experience. Good Job.

don't feel too bad about, there's a lot of potential there. Reference is the bread and butter when stuck, but can also be problematic if you don't understand the understuction (still guilty of that).

Some quick pointers about hands and feet is that they seem large, (but maybe that's just your prefered style?), or maybe it's just easier to draw them at that size.

but for the feet, you want to make them match the thickness of the lower leg which makes sense, but next time try to make the curves of the lower leg narrow down so the look less wide.

As for the face. The eyes suggest she's moving her head 3/4 profile view, however her chin is still in the middle of the nec, not following the rest of the face.

Shading is a whole different subject, so not gonna say much, but maybe you wanna experiment shading with light purple on a multiple layer.

Still got a lot to learn self, but hope this can help a bit.

tldr: Smaller hands, more narrow feet, make the chin follow the rest of the face.

the light purple actually contrasted really badly with her skin, and I always found a light blue better for pure whites. I figured the thing with the feet was the curve of the heels (you can see this kind of "size bulging" with round tip shoes sometimes, occasionally as a design choice), but I'll see about just fucking around with resizing.

as for the hand size yes and no, real proportions should have fingertips hitting the mid to high thigh area (which they would if down). I think the nails had something to do with making them look longer. The perspective on the forearms is fucky too, not thick enough.

It's like trying to go by reference for pitching. Try drawing a pitcher's arm mid-throw to see what I mean. I'll probably examine if it can be salvaged, if not, will swap it up for a re-do.

Two new scenes have been fleshed out thanks to the help of two wonderful writers who have joined the project (I'm waiting for them to provide pen names before I credit them properly). I've also added/fixed a few minor background mechanics, you probably won't notice most of them. I am, however, getting close to a build that will contain every required feature, after which the only thing left is scripting.

Bimbo magic is still in the pipeline, but it will only come into play after the protagonist has been introduced to all the main characters. Further scenes are coming soon.

IMPORTANT: due to a few changes in the code, saved games may have issues if you try to load them now. I advise that you start a new game and save over any old files you may have. If you still run into any problems, leave me a comment on itch.

My primary size reference is that original transition pic showing Celestia, Luna, Nurse Redheart, Cheerilee, etc., which seemed appropriate enough, at least for the current available artwork. Note that these are merely the "standard" poses, where the characters stand at a normal distance from the player. This is to create contrast between instances like the characters moving closer, or when the bimbo magic makes them grow taller.

Thanks a lot for the extra material. Love how Rarity's face is barely changed when she's angry. Such a refined girl, even takes offense in stride.
