The tendrils still hold the creatures steady, but the rest have stopped moving, as if to listen.

You hear a cracking noise, and the creature screams. One of the tendrils was squeezing too tightly by the looks of it, and snapped one of it's legs.

The responsibility of a parent is a daunting one.
Do we dare suggest Patches...end these creatures with his weapon horn if it is stable enough, or use a knife? Care we ask Let's to help?
Can we flee and come back to help Bayneu? Ask of them to shield themself from those that want to manipulate it for evil?

Good point. Last thread Bayneu wanted to change Rem, but know that desire to change her will comflict with what he/it likes about her. I think.

The room is starting to get increasingly hotter. Water drips onto your nose.

You aren't sure what happened after that. There was a flash of steam that exploded from the creature. You tried to cover yourself, but part of your face was scalded.
Then you heard the noises.
Guttural, wet, and screaming.
It almost sounded like a pony.
Then you look.
The beast's body was exposed to the muscle. It's maw was elongated and toothy, dripping black slime and blood.
It was no longer the creature it used to be. But it's painful existence was short lived.
The abomination slumped over, no longer screaming. It was dead.
The cave was silent, except for the sound of dripping water, and the steam being expelled from the innards of the carcass.

I imagine our transport unit has a tracker, so EPU should be descending upon us decently quickly. We just need to hold out until then and tell Bayneu that he should materialize as a pony when he wakes up. If he doesn't look friendly, they'll kill him, and he'll be alone again. But if he becomes a pony, and shows that he doesn't want to hurt anyone, they won't.

Ropes descend into the cave, and ponies in uniforms follow.
Some start to set up a stretcher, while others start to catalog the bodies of the creatures.
They lay you down on the stretcher, and ropes take you up out of the cave. The storm's gone.
It's tranquil and calm.
"Hey, when did the storm stop?"
>EPUpony: "About 4 hours ago. We don't know why, but we're getting you all out now just in case it starts up again."
You're taken up into a flying vehicle. Patches and Mera follow.

"Yeah..."
You look out and see more flying vehicles and large transports heading to where Bayneu was. There's just a hole filled with ice there now.
"Stay safe, Bayneu."
>EPUpony: "Alright! We're setting off! Everyone fasten yourselves in!"
The doors close on the vehicle you're in, and it flies off.

Powers such as that are too dangerous for ponykind. Ponies could control it, but to use it for good would be generosity from the pony or ponies controlling it. Qualities like that are not found always, or offset by greed, and want-- or even 'need'. Sure, it could be controlled...but it might be better if it isn't. Maybe don't tell her the part about it being controllable, for fear of misuse, and/or abuse of Bayneu's power.

It's been a few months since the mission ended. The EPU followed through on their promise, and you were able to live with Mera in a house they provided. You were worried about finding a way to teach Mera things, but they allowed the rest of your team to visit whenever they pleased, and they all offered to teach her about their respective fields. You and Patches have been dating since the mission too. But that's neither here nor there. Your life is generally pretty normal. Except for the EPU running tests and checkups on both you and Mera.
You're not sure how, but you seem to have a faint ability to get into ponies' minds. Not as in depth as Mera's abilities, but they're still there. The EPU were VERY interested in that.
However, aside from those things, nothing is wrong or out of the ordinary.
For the once in a long time, you're more than content with your life.
You're happy.
And you couldn't ask for anything more, really.

Places where you can improve?
We need more to do. There where a lot of posts where the only responce was, "Do the thing" or the only decisions I felt we were making were how we were going to word something. You need to give players more hints at what they can do to achieve this. Like say something about closed circuit playing chess and asking who wants to go next while Cherry is having trouble adjusting the tracking on a VCR and patches is staring longingly at a pile of blankets. That's a bad example but hopefully you understand what I mean.

no no. I meant more along the lines of having suggestions for my other quests or something. Like, things to work on etc.

Yeah, I have to work on that too. I feel like NE was harder to draw for because of the way i did it. The whole binary-brush thing. When using a sketchy brush like in SS, you're able to have more small mistakes and leave them in the picture because it doesn't show up as much. With a binary brush AND with color, you can see small mistakes more, so you need to refine pictures to make sure they look good.

If rem were transformed and lost her mind, she might've attacked mera and patches and then stayed with the sphere.
If she kept her mind intact, she might've been able to fight off the creatures and get out of the cave.
Keep in mind, being "transformed" by the sphere doesn't mean she turns into something like mera or the creatures. She'd probably look closer to a mix of her and Bayneu's true form. But, because it's something that happens quickly, it could happen at great cost to Rem. If the changing was interrupted by patches or mera for example, something else might've happened altogether.

She is not aware of what they did.
But after a few years of training, she'd be accepted into the EPU's special forces, focusing mainly on finding things like the sphere or the child as well as testing with the samples they took from the sphere.

If I was there during the early first few hours from Mera's 'birth,' I would have tried to throw in a few philosophical questions just to see how she would respond. Or do something really nonsensual and surprising like nuzzling her chest fluff or more hugging.

Genres, troups, types of quests? Well there was that mentioning of Cyberpunk. Or maybe one where it is shown that the MC is not the 'good guy' of the story. Or mayhaps a quest of discover, what ever that may mean.

It's hard for me to say since my opinion is a little more than just colored.
Art isn't essential for quests, but it is welcomed, and if you wanted advice you could go to the draw threads. Hmmm.

I think your narrative abilities could use some work. Your dialogue is great, but that's about all your posts have on the writing side.
There's very little when it comes to descriptions, and that's much more important for the posts without art. Even for the posts with art, accompanying text can do a lot.
Lastly, I understand that it's really hard to differentiate between characters when they talk, especially when there are several characters talking in a single scene, but I personally think you could do away with that script format. I find tags and transitions far more immersive.

I remember seeing this CYOA start around the same time Loona threads were on /mlp/ and I've focused on ARG instead of those. Then some year later I've decided to give it a read, and man, it's been perfect. Thanks for the great story, even though I didn't get to participate at that time. But it was godly read nonetheless.

And, as for question, Nips, did you draw any inspiration for the CYOA from the Loona ARG?
