No. Character bashing in fanfiction context means the author hates the character and uses his fanfiction as a vehicle to explain why they're shit or to give them what they "deserve". Most often this includes the character's worst traits being flanderized to the point of OoC, and so when they get called out for shit writing they throw a bitchfit and claim it's intentional. Most fanfic authors who practice this will even tag or put a warning ahead of time now, sometimes with an explanation as to why they hate the character. For an extra dose of autism, sometimes the author will explain they only hate the character because of bad fanfictions and are "only" targeting the fanfiction version as if it were one monolithic thing.
