Honestly you know what this episode reminded me of? That Bugs Bunny cartoon right before the episode. Same sort of "small" problem, implications are ignored, attempts at jokes...

Why were there so many montages? Why, even as a joke, did they put mobile phones in the show? Honestly the episode wasn't BAD per se, it's just inexplicable and I don't think the writers really knew how to write either of them in character.

Like, I think they took the "lol Discord can duplicate himself" gag and tried to parlay it into him having a personality disorder. I didn't even touch on how Discord fading away is barely a threat that isn't even explored, and opens up a fuckload of questions for the show's depictions of him.

Why did he not fade away when he was first reformed? Why did he not fade away when he apologized to Celestia? Why did he not fade away when he was in the Changeling hive, without the ability to do chaos magic?

What was wrong with it? There was some shitty framing in terms of animation. I hated how the toy/department store had shelves that were retardedly huge and I hated how there was a shop dedicated to tea. Again adding another unneeded shop to what was supposed to be a tiny little town. But other than that it was a well paced, cute slice of life episode that had a lot of entertaining moments and best of all it actually had a magical hook of Discord fading away.

One of the flaws this season has been there being no real twists to the episodes with them being basic sitcom plots that could be in any other show. Discording fading away gave the episode just the boost it needed to stand out from some of the other episodes this season.
