Exactly, and other 'bromance' type things. It is my understanding that strong bonds of friendship/brotherhood are formed in the military; particularly among elite units, etc. I know one of the based writefriends 'over there' avoids adding male characters because of the 'reee'ing it would draw.

Almost 30 years ago I had a gay friend in high school. He wasn't open about being gay but he didn't hide it either. I knew he was gay. We met because I was helping him get a gay-centric article he was writing formatted/converted for the school paper's typesetter. The article was pulled considering how things were much less accepted back then. Time went on and we got along well. I thought I didn't have any issues with him being gay. Until he asked me out via a note that is. I'd like to say I was mature about it but I wasn't. I never responded. I stopped talking to him all together. I regret that. I should have told him I was straight and not interested romantically. He and the friendship we had deserved that. I wonder what happened to him. Especially now knowing about teen suicide rates, etc. I hope he's doing well though.

As a guy who's experienced what you have, be warned that i'm not going to sugarcoat things anon, but your friend probably killed himself, especially if he had a crappy support network that wouldn't realise something was wrong.
Not responding would have been understandable, but ceasing all communication with him afterwards basically reaffirmed everything negative anyone ever told him about being gay and basically told him that it'd ruin even the closest of friendships.

What do you think the relationship between the guards and the princesses, preferably Twilight Sparkle, I believe between Twilight and the guards it is a most relationship of Twilight feeling as if she doesn't need the guards.

I would like to say as the OP that I will allow any mare and stallion relationship, like i said when I created the thread fro angerment and hope that something would arise.

I would like to say this thread is now an all guards thread if it is male or female.

I remember early on in the Royal Guard Mare general that there was a male guard story that was getting some positive feedback. I liked it myself. But, it was eventually dropped. I forget why. Maybe because the femanon was a ballbuster or seomthing like that. Anyways, my point is that guard stallions have always been welcomed in the RGM, as long as it had a story to it. Problem is that you have had agitators, like what OP did, really soil any chance at being welcomed. You're not going to get what you want by sabotage, in fact the opposite. It's going to take some content to make things right, not a forced status quo.

yeah, I know. I keep telling myself otherwise but I know it's a very real possibility given the stories I've heard from the friends I've made AND kept since then. Though, I haven't told many of them that story.
However, I do know the friend from high school did have the support of his immediate family. He wrote about it in the article and he shared his 'coming out to family' story with me. So, even knowing the courage it took him to tell his family I still let him down. That fact is not lost on me which is one of the reasons why I strive to be open-minded about any and all who I might cross paths with.

I liked that one, and she was a ballbuster. The hate for stallions started with that mediocre green that like 4 posts in turned into Anon getting his dick sucked and the guard captain getting jealous. That brought out the autism and it has been there ever since. Even if that femanon story was around after the gay green that started it all, it would be wrong to say that stallions were always accepted. That one was more like an exception. Author probably got run off by the shitty atmosphere of the thread. I know I did.
