It really is a very small difference, when I first heard there would be a quality cut back I thought I would just hold off and wait for the DiscoFam airings starting on the 24th. But the I started watching one of the episodes on one of the English uploads and saw it was actually really decent.

This SHOULD set up the premise of the special: It should be about Affirming their purpose and specialness as a group, and the importance of their magic, that its not superficial and vital to their world's safety.
Additionally, it should set up a greater threat, with juniper as a "starter villain" to give a taste of the danger posed to their world.


Instead... Fuck that shit, Glimmer time. The Mane seven's abilities are LITERALLY useless-- they do NOTHING To solve the problem! The day would have been fixed with or without their magic! Hell, it made things WORSE, since them getting sucked into the mirror turned juniper into a giant Retard.
