It's not that people care about what you do in your spare time, or that you should care about what people think of what you do in your spare time. And yet, if you're the kind of guy who feels the need to tell people you watch a pony cartoon, or worse, wear a pony shirt, you're simply not fit for many social occasions. It's just a matter of decency. It's not even really about ponies in particular, but just in general, nobody needs to know you spend your spare time watching cartoons, and nobody *wants* to know either. Or your favourite band or anything really. Graphic shirts and hoodies are for attention craving kids.

Listen. I have a heavily modified desktop with animeshit on it. I decorated the shit out of my steam page and then I set it to private for me to alone to enjoy. I have a row of figurines in my house, not all of them wholesome. All of these things I do for myself, no one else will ever see them. Unfortunately what I wear doesn't have a privacy setting, but that doesn't mean I'm going to restrict myself from wearing clothing I like because some grown man never left his school days of snickering at nerds like me.

What I wear around the house is the same thing I wear in public. I wear them because I like them. I wear them for me to enjoy, to glance down at, to look at in the mirror. You don't have to like them, but you don't get to dictate my sense of style or my interests.

I have never found it embarrassing to literally wear my interests on my sleeve. If you're uncomfortable, that's your problem. I'm just sorry you were so bullied by those around you you can't even leave the house without shying away from being yourself.
