There have been bad episodes, but every show ever has them. When I look back at any specific season as a whole, I can't think any any that stand out to be as bad. I know some people really look down on S3 and S6 (just to name examples), and I can get why people would feel that way about then, but it's not a sentiment I share.

I think they've been greatly restricted since the early days. Looking back on s1 and 2 they could be pretty rude and violent at times.

After years of watching the episode livestreams since the start of season 2, I haven't watched a single episode of this season.
I don't know if it's because I'm just tired of this whole thing, or if the show has declined in quality.

The show began with the mane six getting into local shenanigans within their own town and growing from their experiences. Now they need a literal omnipresent plot device to have any sense of believable conflict, because if the writers try to write any huge life-like conflict it would seem out of character due to how much they are supposed to have grown.

They can't get out of their "comfort zone" because the mane six royally fucking up isn't possible anymore. Nothing can go beyond the simple misunderstanding for them, because if they completely understood a situation it would be unbelievable for them to struggle with it anyway.

Ergo, Starlight is introduced so we can have a character that can believably and royally fuck-up again.

It's been going slowly downhill since S3. But it really took off in it's haste to reach the gutter in S6. I started skipping through episodes in S4 as I steadily became less and less interested in what was in them resulting in more skipping.
Ultimately this turned into not bothering watching any of S7 at all because honestly, I just don't care any more since they rendered thier own main characters completely irrelevant by giving them everything.

As usual, the most visible and therefore what the rest of the world sees is a complete cringefest.
The only thing that really keeps me here is stories. I still like horsewords, and the comfier the better.

I definitely do miss the atmosphere from the early seasons, where every episode was hyp as fuck and hardly ever disappointed.

Also doesn't help that since nothing ever gets put on / stays on youtube now it's hella hard to actually watch since daily(bowel)motion doesn't work for me, and I don't care enough any more to torrent it.

I still enjoy it, S6 was the lowest point for me but so far S7 has been pretty good. Maybe I just care less now. My veiws and expectations changed over the years so it's hard to tell.

I only visit /mlp/ and I guess it's alright. I usually visit a few threads and filter everything else. Even then I'm not really happy with what I see but whatever. It's enough for me.

Fandom is dead now.
While it had some gems, season 6 almost turned me off from the show. Luckily season 7 is a vast improvement.
Equestria Girls still remains solid even with all of the unjust hate people here give it.
/mlp/ may be shit now with Nazi moderation and Anons who do nothing but hate, but at least the show is still good

I'm kinda relieved that I'm not the only one that feels less for the show after S5 ended.
The show for me went too far on character development and revealing mysteries of Equestria that it feels shallower than earlier seasons which had less of those two elements.
Equestria should have remained as a land full of mysteries and adventures like it's written on the show bible.

Ironically I wanted the show to be more action packed but only now do I see that the comfyness of the townspeople knowing eachother and helping eachother was really why I liked it yet couldn't see it back then. less of this has happened so I feel it was a bit my fault. fandom has been really good. shrunk a tiny bit but got much more underground.

I think there is hope for glimmy and the "antagonists" (discord trixie and bedbug) mayne they'll get a spinoff or maybe even G5 for themselves, they are the only ones that have some goal to reach

The show is fine, although inconsistent. Not as good as it once was but still enjoyable.

I hate the fandom with a passion but also love it. It's complicated. There's so much autism, idiocy and butthurt that it rivals the worst fandoms out there, but there's also some really talented artists, good memes and keks as well as fantastic porn. It's a mixed bag.
