You're high, both of those shows constantly have big name villains (Even the shredder or megatron) dying and being replaced by new villains.

the quintessons, galvatron and the dead universe, Unicron, ect., villains are constantly coming in and the universe is expanading.

TMNT? krang, the shredder, they're expendable: they'll die or be dealt with and replaced with even bigger bads like the Triceratons or future villains, or whatnot.


Both of those universes move even FASTER than MLP does.

The other six have no arcs, they're at brick walls. They've progressed as characters, there's nowhere to go.

They have no arcs. they have no growth. Their episodes are shit (Every episode except Starlight's have been terrible this season). Its why the writers are grabbing Big mac and Zecora and shit like that: the mane six are OVER. They're DONE. They need new characters if they want to make the show work.


Starlight is where this show's salvation comes in. She's fresh. she's cute. She's got a great character and aspect (her redeemed villain angle is much like luna's, and is one reason she's so beloved). Moreover, she's FREE. she has loads and loads of ways to grow, to explore her character.
She can link up with new characters and form new bonds: her friendship with maud and trixie are already bearing massive fruit in showing us new sides of the universe.


The six are over, and so will be the show if it stagnates on the, we need new and we need fresh, and starlight and her crew is just that.

S8 should be about starlight forming her own elements of harmony as the others retire and leave the show, with Starlight, trixie, sunburst, maud, thorax and a couple new ponies.

Anybody who was part of a fandom of a show that lasted too long, it's not a new thing for a show to progress on being worse and worse. One anon mentioned how Starlight is being "shipped" with fan favourite characters to make her more likeable, from Discord to Maud to Trixie to Sunset - we'll see her becoming friends with Derpy eventually.

The show is about the main cast, if you replace the main cast it won't be FIM anymore; let it end properly. Even Spongebob and Simpsons still focus on their main characters despite lasting for so long and becoming shit - they respect the main characters. FiM is slowly moving the Mane Six aside and it's only making it worse, because the new characters are unlikeable - they don't give a shit. Starlight is going to solve her problems with magic and getting away with it.

its My little pony: friendship is magic. Its not "twilight sparkle, applejack, fluttershy, rainbow dash, pinkie pie, and rarity".
The show's premise is two things: ponies and friendship. Starlight is a pony, starlight is all about being a master of friendship and making friends.

Damned straight it'll still be FIM without the mane six and with starlight and a new cast.

There's a good 4-5 seasons before starlight gets old.
As for twilight already being the princess of friendship: We already have a princess of love, but we got flurry heart too. No reason there can't be redundant princesses of similiar things.

She's already old, she graduated (learned friendship) and made friends and there's nothing fresh they are doing with her anymore.

She also has plenty of room to progress into being an element of harmony bearer or alicorn.

she also has a good bit of development she can do in learning to accept her destined role as a ruler (as at her town) and stop fearing her villainous past, as she's still traumatized her past as a villain.

she also has an incredibly rich amount of potential in helping to reform the more villainous races like the changelings and possibly even the dragons-- there's the thorax/pharynx episode for example.
Not to mention an entire season's worth of plotline about her and chrysalis's relationship.
