I did try the pattern in the op, but with 0 experience it was a bit scary going all in with a big plush, so I did that voodoo doll with a cheap fabric to learn my way around a sewing machine, stitching, seam allowance etc.
What went wrong on my first try was using that fabric, working with it was a mess and it needed more allowance since it frayed very easily, and losing my patience through it, thus half-assing the plush.

I later found the laying pattern while looking for tutorials and it instantly got my attention. I wanted to fit that pattern to a whole yard but still wanted to see how it scaled (2nd try is 18 inches long), I might make a bigger plush in some time modifying the pattern to look like the princess body type.

I'll be starting to prep travel sewing supplies for tiny equines before long. I can only bring so much shit to horsecon east, so if there's a specific tiny pone you want to see made, now is a great time to suggest it. We'll see how much sewing I do instead of drinking.

Miscounted the amount of fabric and took her extra time which ended up costing me extra, still, good stuff under $100 (total) at the time.

At least one of that quality, a well done plush is generally priced around $200-2k (not even kidding) it really depends on the fabric used, materials and size, some cheap artists use hot silicone on their works making them cheap but with a shit durability.

I don't know of a template anywhere for eye shapes. You could literally just scale up a screenshot of the show and use that.

If you just wanted some embroidered eyes that you could stich on, E the Pony has an embroidery design for just about any eye design imaginable. They go for around $5-10 depending on size. Might be a good route to go if you're going to have trouble with the cutie mark as well,

The biggest thing is it's just perceived as another way of attention whoring. Pretty much as simple as that. Like a girl coming on and saying "I'm a female, and..." when gender has no point in the conversation and it's just there to gain attention. I've only ever used a trip code when someone was trolling and impersonating me--purposefully trying to confuse and/or derail the thread. Most of the time, you can pretty easily backtrack any conversation by following the post codes, so there's no reason to tripcode outside fishing for attention. Half the time, if you're regular enough, people can distinguish who you are by your style of writing and the posts you make/the topics you talk on. Three guesses as to who I am, ha. It's because the culture of 4chan has always been toward being anonymous. It avoids the circle jerk culture around certain "popular" posters that was rampant on forums in the past and social media now-a-days.

4chan etiquette generally says tripfagging and namefagging are fine in certain circumstances like when you are the primary writefag of a thread or you're Faust making a surprise visit. Otherwise, using either is seen as being in poor taste when your identity is not paramount to the thread's content.

The plush thread is a bit of an oddity as none of our resident plushmakers use trips or names even though using them wouldn't necessarily be inappropriate. Most of us only put our names in our posts when discussing something that's related to us like saying we're open for commissions, posting anonymously otherwise.

What's your point? To a certain extent the discord is exclusive by design, as allowing anyone to stick around has proven to be disastrous in the past. The current rule of thumb is to let the group slowly grow rather than explode into unmanageable shit.

I don't like everyone in the group or what they have to say, but I don't kick and remove people unless they are bothering others. That said, only a single person has been kicked because multiple people requested it, and no one has been banned thus far.

As for it being run by "fandom famous" people, none of us are even slightly fandom famous- hell we aren't even very plush famous. Being known only in this thread does not count for any appreciable level of fame.

The discord was simply made to talk with pony plush owners because some people actually like to be social outside of 4chan. If you don't like it, that's fine. It has no bearing on the thread and is simply an option for people that want to join the conversation.
