Last time on SoulQuest, after fighting off a few Doomed animals, the party met with their newfound, strange allies and were escorted back to the safety of Kaba Village, where-in they were met with many other talking animals including their leader, a bear named Chief Ulfsaar. In his hut, along with a speaking flower named Lotus, they introduced the quartet of heroes to their world, explaining the significance of the Twelve ponies and how their arrival is seen as a boon due to their innate mastery over Souls, the basics of which were explained to the party as they began their new roles as Numeri.

However, the late hour and fatigue of their fight left the party understandably drained, and so, avoiding a gathering crowd outside by taking a back entrance, the party were lead to guest rooms for the night, soft hanging hammocks allowing them to sleep off their woes across the late-evening and early morning (Alexis, however, not needing sleep chose to wander the alien village invisibly).

Just under seven hours later, at about 11 in the morning, Alexis also took charge to impatiently wake the others from their slumber. Upon being thrust from bed by the ghost girl, animals and plants alike greeted them from outside the door to their hut and graciously escorted them back to the Chief's hut for brunch, wherein you all find yourselves now. A very generous spread of fruits, vegetables, grains and eggs is splayed out before you, along with a generous helping of meat for Ulfsaar who joins you at the table. As you all begin to feast, Ulfsaar gives a wave of his claws and another well-meaning but terrifying grin. "Good morning, our guests of honor. I take it our accommodations were to your liking, of course? You won't sleep ever more soundly anywhere on the island like Kaba, I like to tell folks. Please, eat your fill, you must be starved after everything."

>Good morning, our guests of honor. I take it our accommodations were to your liking, of course? You won't sleep ever more soundly anywhere on the island like Kaba, I like to tell folks.

"I slept very well last night! Yesterday was tiring."

>Please, eat your fill, you must be starved after everything.

She spies the food, and before she even takes a seat on one of the pillows the surround the table, she picks up each food that catches her eye one by one with her magic and send them into her mouth and down her throat.

"There's a lot of food here. This is very tasty. I like it!"
>>
>>30196306
The ghost sits crosslegged in the air near the food, letting out a sigh of annoyance at its presence.

"Can you tell us more about....everything, now? What is Yggrasil, where is it, how can we get there?"
>>
>>30196306
Pain doesn't stop eating, graciously consuming carbohydrates and protein for whatever might be coming later today.
>Market on the other hand is eating an apple slowly, looking to the bear,
>"Honestly Chief, the accommodations beat over half the motels we've stopped at on business trips. How's your tourism business?"
>>
>>30196399
"I'd like to know more, too," she says as her horn lights up again, although she hasn't grabbed any food. After a few seconds her notepad and pen come flying through the door, and she's ready to take yet more notes once again.
>>
>>30196306
>"Good morning, our guests of honor. I take it our accommodations were to your liking, of course? You won't sleep ever more soundly anywhere on the island like Kaba, I like to tell folks. Please, eat your fill, you must be starved after everything."
Fixer comes out from his room after being woken, scratching himself and feeling a little unclean. "Yes, I slept well," he says, taking several eggs and eating them whole one after another. "DO you have any place for cleaning? A river or pool you don't drink from, perhaps?"
>>
>>30196362
As you pick up a few bits of food, you notice a couple of flowers, seemingly set on the table only for arrangement purposes, are alive and move to pour you a glass of tea to go with your meal, mixing in sugar as well. Lotus, the flower from last evening, sits at Ulfsaar's side, smiling.

"Most of what you see here is grown locally, we trade a good bit of crops to the other villages. The roads have been more dangerous lately so trade has been slow, but we still managed to pull this together."

>>30196431
The fruits, veggies, and foods of all sorts seem to be never-ending, as when Pain devours one plate, a nearby small animal such as a rabbit or otter seems eager to replace it for him.
Ulfsaar shakes his head as he bites into some meat, "Not that great, even before the roads got more dangerous. Kaba grows food and hunts pelts, but not much else to speak of, so any 'tourism' we get is usually traders. The biggest village on the south-east edge of the island, Alma Town, probably gets the most."

>>30196462
Lotus nods, "Yes, of course. We redirect some of the water flowing down from the river to a couple pools you could use to bathe yourself. Other than that there are a few streams nearby to use as well, if you need. Although," she points at your chest, "You could potentially just make your own now that you're starting to get the hang of Anima and those Water souls I gave you all last night."
>>
>>30196562
>>30196399
>>30196441
Ulfsaar chews down a large slab of pork, very animated in his chewing of it as he turns to your question. He swiftly cleans his lips with a napkin, and says, "Of course, of course. Where do I start with Yggdrasil though..." he taps at his chin. "Well, it is a tree. A massive, ancient tree that serves as the spiritual center of all Tetra. It is to the Tree of the World we go when our body dies and we give up our Soul, and from it we come when we enter the next life, whatever that may be." He points outside a window, "And like I said last night, it is very far from here. It is two days by boat from this island to the shore of the main continent, and from there... I can't even accurately describe how long it must take to reach it. You certainly wouldn't want to try by foot."

"But if one of Yggdrasil's guardian spirits told you to go there, we must do what we can to see you there. The Princess often needs to leave from the island to perform duties on the mainland, and I'm sure she could do the same for you. If we can find her, that is..." he grumbles, clenching his claws. "We... haven't seen her in a while. Much longer than it usually takes her to come down and visit."
>>
>>30196562
Fixer shakes his head and waves his hoof. "It's not just the water, it's the atmosphere."
>>30196573
"So, do you have a boat? Anything we can do here before we leave?"
>>
>>30196562
She picks up the glass with her magic and takes a sip as Lotus tells her about the food.

After she finishes speaking, Aether writes down on her notepad a bit about the agriculture and economics of this settlement, ah, what was it? Ah, right, Kaba Village.

She pauses for a bit. Hm, seems like it took a bit of effort to put this food on the table. I should express my appreciation!

"Oh, ah, thank you for this food!" she says, a little late on the draw, but at least it's something.

>>30196573
She then scribbles all this down on her notepad.

"Fascinating!"
>>
>>30196562
>"I see. So do you know anything about the contract I signed? Is dealing with the problems on the roads our troubles too, or do we go find the spirit for our real job description."
>MMM tosses the apple core behind him, looking to Pain in mild bemusement,
>"You're going to become a bigger blight on this village than whatever's been attacking them if your appetite continues like that, Train."
This provokes no response from Pain Train, who continues to eat.
>>
>>30196562
"Egh!" Alexis recoils in shock when she sees the table plants come alive.
>>30196562
"Well we have to get there somehow, its important!"

"This Princess you're talking about is Princess Kachina right? One of the 'Twelve'? She wouldn't happen to live in that castle on top of the mountain, would she?"
>>
>>30196598
Lotus turns her bud-like head to the side, "'Atmosphere'? I'm not quite sure I understand. Is the humidity getting to you?"

>>30196624
The flowers who stirred your tea give you a little bow in appreciation, and Lotus adds on, "You're very welcome. I'll give your compliments to the ones who prepared it. When they heard we were hosting ponies, they practically jumped at the chance to serve this up."

>>30196691
"By 'contract' I assume you mean the pact you made with the spirit of Yggdrasil you mentioned last evening?" Ulfsaar shakes his head, "I'm afraid not. The workings of the spirits are a mystery to a small village such as us. Whatever it is they ask, you'll likely need to follow their instructions and meet them personally to get it."

As Pain keeps eating his heart out, Lotus shakes her head, "It is no trouble, really... we're a LITTLE short but we can spare as much as we can for you, it's the least we can do for listening to us."

>>30196697
The plants seem to shoot back in surprise as Alexis suddenly shouts, looking at her with tiny eyes coming from the buds, "Woah! P-please, don't scare us like that. Did you need more tea?"

>>30196697
As you bring up Princess Kachina's name, Ulfsaar looks up in surprise, "So you heard about her already then? Her name has been the topic of many conversations lately, I shouldn't be surprised. You've seen the castle as well, then? How did it look to you, anything strange?"

Ulfsaar nods, "What you've guessed is true: that castle is Princess Kachina's home, from which she looks after and protects us all. She is not known to hole herself up in their forever, though."

Lotus nods, "The Princess commonly comes down from the peak to visit all the villages and check up on us. But... she's over two weeks late now for when we were expecting her. And what word we've gotten from the other villages is no one has seen her lately either. She's NEVER been this late before."

(1/2)
>>
>>30196781
>>30196598
Ulfsaar shakes his head, "Here in Kaba, no, though I'm certain I've seen one in Alma Town or one of the larger fishing villages. And the Princess might have one of her own to lend, but," he looks down at his breakfast, suddenly more sullen. "There IS something we would ask of you before you left. The arrival of five ponies is far too good fortune to not try and ask."

He sighs, "I was hoping, after you've had your fill and let me explain more of our world, if we could ask of you to help us find wherever Princess Kachina might have gone, and before that, help us with a much more IMMEDIATE problem that threatens our village. The nearby Tainted."
>>
>>30196781
"Wow, I still can't really get over that fact, how there are so few ponies in this world..."

>>30196793
>I was hoping, after you've had your fill and let me explain more of our world, if we could ask of you to help us find wherever Princess Kachina might have gone...

She's up for that. Helping what friends do! I think. I'm pretty sure.

>...and before that, help us with a much more IMMEDIATE problem that threatens our village. The nearby Tainted.

Her brows immediately furrow.

"D-do you mean those things that attacked us last night?"
>>
>>30196781
"Oh, no sorry! I didn't know you were alive." she answers the small flowers.
>>30196781
"It looked like a castle. I was pretty far away when I saw it, I sort of just flew straight up. If there was anything off about it, I didn't see it."
>>30196793
>>30196846
Alexis looks surprised at the mention of the Tainted.

"We told you last night, none of us know how to fight except Pain Train. YOU had to rescue US from those wild animals, and from where I gather the 'Tainted' are supposed to be even worse!"

"What do you expect US to do about them? Get them wet?"
>>
>>30196781
>>30196793
"Sure, I guess she would have one. What are the names of the other princesses? Have you heard anything bad about them that happened lately?"
>>
>>30196781
>>30196793
>"No such thing as a free lunch, err, breakfast." Market says, pocketing a few oranges in his suit coat for later, "That's why I asked earlier if we we're helping with your road troubles and such."
"Oh, we talking business?" Pain Train says in the short time between replaced plates, finally looking up. Market stops him from grabbing more food, slapping his hoof.
>"Yes, pay attention." Market says, wrapping a loaf of bread in a cloth, "Hand me your dufflebag by the way." He places the loaf in the dufflebag, and repeats the process with a few other pieces of food while looking at Ulfsaar, "So what, they in a spooky graveyard or a dungeon or something? What's the gig.?"
>>
>>30196846
Ulfsaar nods, "They say were made in the image of the Four themselves. That we are speaking with a group of so many in one room still amazes me. And you say there are a great many more where you came from? I'm curious what the Princess herself will think of you all as well, she's only ever known eleven peers for thousands upon thousands of years."

>>30196846
He growls. "That, and worse. The creatures you fought last night are known as Doomed; they are only Tetrans who have lost their minds to the Taint, and turned rabid and violent. But a worse fate awaits them if they stay that way for too long... the Taint transforms into genuine monsters. Goblins, ogres are the common result of it around here, but there are far, far more terrible Tainted in darker parts of the world."

>>30196883
The flowers nod, "Oooooh... right, no, it is us who are sorry. Other animals make that mistake sometimes too."

As you mention the castle being fairly normal looking, Ulfsaar looks confused, "It is so odd then, that it looks so normal from the outside and yet all that is happening... I have sent several messenger birds up there to see what has happened. None have returned, and I dare not send any more of my people."

>>30196890
Lotus shakes her head, "Kachina is the only princess among the Twelve. The rest are very different from her in many ways, and they're spread out all over the world. They mostly stick to their territories." She begins to count on her leaves, "There's Mishna the Pious, the dreaded pirate Diez Dorado, the great hero Ajax, just to name a few. We don't hear too much about what happens to them everywhere they go, but we haven't heard anything bad happening to them lately. I don't know if even they'd be aware if the Princess were in trouble right now."
>>
>>30197013
>>30196883
Ulfsaar looks to her with a slight look of desperation, "You underestimate yourselves. As Numeri, you are already among the strongest individuals in this village. What happened to you all last night I'm sure was a result of your fatigue and being lost in a new and unfamiliar place. I know you can vanquish the Tainted threatening us as easily as the Twelve did in ages long past!"

>>30196912
Ulfsaar nods his head, "Thank you for hearing us out. You might have noticed," he points his muzzle outside, "Some damaged buildings, and signs of much struggle on the edge of the village. The Tainted have always been a problem on this island," he snarls, "Hiding in caves and lashing out at the vulnerable whenever they can, scrounging off of us like vermin and pillaging only the weak. Every time they get too bad the Princess takes notice and unites the villages to exterminate them, but some are always somehow left behind and find ways to rebuild until the next time we must take action. This time, however, they are bolder than they have ever been in decades."

He clenches his paw, "Ever since Kachina disappeared, they have had a greater presence on the roads and in the jungle, jumping out at travelers and traders far more frequently. And just a couple of days ago... they attacked us. A full frontal assault the likes of which they haven't tried in many years. They struck so quickly we could barely mount a defense in time, and," he lets out a deep growl. "They took our people. Kidnapped entire families to take back to the holes they crawled out of."
>>
>>30197013
>And you say there are a great many more where you came from?
"It's a lot less impressive when there's a whole lot of them. You're better off only knowing a few."
>the Taint transforms into genuine monsters. Goblins, ogres are the common result of it around here, but there are far, far more terrible Tainted in darker parts of the world."
"So they don't exist naturally? Only as mutants and those transformed?"
>>
>>30197013
>...the Taint transforms into genuine monsters. Goblins, ogres are the common result of it around here, but there are far, far more terrible Tainted in darker parts of the world.

Ah, that's something she wouldn't like to hear. Her brows are even more furrowed now, and her mouth is frowny scrunched up all scared-like.

>>30197026
>I know you can vanquish the Tainted threatening us as easily as the Twelve did in ages long past!

This relieves her a bit.

"Ah, yeah! We're special!"

>...they are bolder than they have ever been in decades... They took our people. Kidnapped entire families to take back to the holes they crawled out of.

Oh boy, she can't take this emotional roller coaster. Her brows resume their furrowediess, and her mouth is even more frowny than before.
>>
>>30197026
>"Full Frontal assault... shit, all the hooplah and I forgot that you have a match with Full Frontal tonight, Pain Train." Another fetlock of food is pushed into Pain's bag.
"Whatever, they can fix it in post."
>"We'll hope so."

>he turns back to Uffsaar, "So anything to do with us showing up? Maybe some time continuum or psychic wave or some of that kinda stuff happening when we showed up? Hell, maybe that's why we're here. Pest Control. Anyways yeah, normally I'd give you my business card, but I don't know if you have phones here."
>Market stuffs a final banana into Pain's bulging duffelbag, struggling to zip it,
>"I think this group that showed up wouldn't be apposed to helping, they look like good kids. Hell, it'll build character. Celestia knows they need it."
>>
>>30197026
>>30197013
"Look, we're not these superheroes you seem to think we are. I'm not getting killed AGAIN just so you can get that!" she says harshly, rising to a standing/floating position.

Her face flashes immediately and briefly with regret.

"Look. What if we all drove up to the castle and checked it out? If you had Kachina back you wouldn't NEED us right?"
>>30197089
>>30197057
"And if there's anything in there, I'm sure between Pain and Aether we could get away. Right?"

She looks to Ulfsaar curiously as she makes her proposal.
>>
>>30197181
"Huh? We're not here just to rescue one pony princess. Probably." Fixer shrugs. "Are you the kind of gal that leaves things half-done?"
>>
>>30197181
"I, I, I would like to try to find Kachina first, too," she says, with an unfamiliar stutter due to an unfamiliar apprehension.
>>
>>30197181
>"C'mon little lady, look who's talking. Pain's the modern superhero. Don't need comic books, he brings the thunder at every event."
>>
>>30197193
"No. Sometimes. Look its not important, the point is that we can't kill actual monsters, but that's no reason we can't go find the pony who can. Especially since I think there's a road we could just drive straight up the mountain and check."

"Besides, if we find Kachina we have our way off the island, which means we spend less time WAITING to get to Yggrasil."
>>

>>30197196
Meant to link Aether too, and respond to M.

Lotus chuckles at Fixer's first remark, "Well, there is some truth to that, I suppose... still find it all rather unbelievable. Do you have any ponies who stand out among the rest like the Twelve do us? Heroes, villains, leaders, so on?"

As you ask about the Tainted, Ulfsaar growls. "No. They are unnatural, evil creatures who can only spread like a virus. Tainted like goblins and ogres cannot give birth or reproduce: the only way for them to increase their numbers is to take animals, plants, elementals, whatever they can get their claws on, and corrupt them with dark powers. FORCE them to become Tainted through some kind of magic." He looks at his paws, "I... I fear that is the purpose for them taking our villagers. To boost their numbers. The Doomed you fought last night were almost certainly from Kaba, and that means they have already begun the process of turning the captives they took. I am grateful they could be returned to Yggdrasil before they could be fully turned."

He looks up, "But surely they can not be finished turning ALL of them just yet. There must still be some of my people left to bring back."

>>30197160
"I think you're a symptom and not a cause, personally," Lotus answers, "Kachina disappeared weeks ago, and the Tainted surge around the same time. You only appeared just last night, which means I'm fairly sure you didn't have anything to do with this."

Ulfsaar nods, "But I do think that's why you're here. Or, part of it. Surely the Four saw fit to let you drop by Kachina first so that you could help us in a time of need. If you would consider helping us to save our villagers, we'll do whatever we can to repay the favor and help you get to Yggdrasil."

As you ask about business cards, Ulfsaar and Lotus look to each other. "Phones...?"
>>
>>30197276
>>30197181
Ulfsaar growls a moment, but lowers his head as he tries to calm himself down. "I know I am asking a lot of you. I apologize for being so forward with asking this of you. I realize this is probably not what you were expecting when the spirits took you here."

As you make your proposal, he mumbles in contemplation. "If we had the Princess, yes, she surely could handle all of this. But, going up the mountain to Kachina's castle is a long trek by foot from here. And like I said before, no one I have sent has returned. I have heard rumor someone in a village south of here HAS gone up the mountain and returned since Kachina's disappearance, perhaps asking them would shed more light on what's up there."

Lotus sighs, "Our Chief is dancing around the key issue. The reason we would ask you to go after our people so quickly is time is of the essence... if you ran into Doomed last night, then they must be already turning some of them. And there's only a few days to spare after you are initially touched by Taint before you cross beyond the point of no return. Every moment is crucial."
>>
>>30197276
"Yeah, there's Princess Grape Soda."
As he listens to the description of the Tainted, he nods with some disgust. "Yes, that's pretty ugly. But really, we're here to help."
>>
>>30197236
"The fact that we couldn't? What do you think last night was? And that was just a few of them!"

"And what do you mean, what can I do? Besides the water-thing, not a lot."
>>30197285
"Well we don't have to go by foot, we have a-"

"Fixer, show them your car."

"If we take Fixer's car, we can go to the other village and make it up to the castle in no time!"
>>
>>30197324
"You're being a real pessimist, yanno. We can totally kill monsters, they're just mutated animals."
"I'll pull my car out when I need to, this isn't the best spot. Too crowded." He looks up to the bearlord. "Are there any roads or paths up to the castle?"
>>
>>30197276
>Do you have any ponies who stand out among the rest like the Twelve do us? Heroes, villains, leaders, so on?

"Oh yes, well we have princesses, Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Princess Twilight (my teacher), Princess Cadence, and her daughter Princess Flurry. We also have many prominent wizards! I like learning about them. There's Star Swirl the Bearded..." and she goes on listing each and every one of the wizards, magicians, and conjurers she knows. And she knows a lot of them.

>>30197285
>...Every moment is crucial.

She stops to think a bit. With a hoof on her chin, she considers what she says.

"Hm, we don't want this "Taint" to spread, that means even more, uh, bad things. Ah, but, hmm..."
>>
>>30197285
>>30197324
>>30197347
>"What the bright young man with the car said, if all else fails, I don't think these animals have ever been roadkill before. But like what's been said. They're animals. You've never punted a dog before?"

>"S'joke, kid."

"I don't run over stuff with my driving car, it messes it up."
>>
>>30197307
"Grape Soda? Who's that? I don't think there's a Grape Soda..."

She seems a little confused.
>>
>>30197347
"I meant take it OUTSIDE and THEN show them. And yeah, I saw one earlier heading up the mountain."
>>30197356
Alexis freezes as he mentions just running them over.

"...."
>>30197351
"I think we've got the right idea. We should stop by this village, then drive up to Kachina's and see if she's home."

"Maybe she's just been sick?" she suggests.
>>
>>30197373
"What, you didn't make up names for Twilight Sparkle as a kid? Princess Twigfight Spackle? Princess Purplegas? Princess Bowlcut Featherduster?"
>>30197377
"Well yeah, just making some clarifications. Can't you just float up the mountain? Straight line faster than a winding road and all that?"

"...would you laugh if I said I was scared to go alone?"
>>

She cocks her head to the side and looks at him funny. "Ah, no? She's just Twilight Sparkle? Uhh?"
>>
>>30197406
"Huh? Princess Twofart Spangle?"
>>30197402
"Not entirely if your ectoplasmic matter structure is fragile enough for it to be fatally disrupted."
>>
>>30197417
"Well I don't think I'm made of anything-plasma. That just sounds gross."

"And I don't know if I can get killed. I'm not exactly in a hurry to fight out either."
>>

As you go on to list every single significant wizard you know off the top of your head (a good number of them), Lotus listens on with mouth slightly agape, "Wow.... uh, that is a LOT of famous ponies I need to memorize. Maybe, pause for a quick minute and later I'll jot down some notes, okay?"

>>30197324
>>30197356
Ulfsaar raises his brow, "A car...? Parker mentioned something about that last night, that smoke-spewing machine, right? Just how fast is it?"

Lotus adds on, "Even if it is truly quick, it may only be a matter of hours before more of our people are turned. They were taken days ago and we already know some of them have been exposed long enough to turn into Doomed. After you completely lose your mind, there isn't a healing spell on Tetra that can bring you back, but there's hope here if we can get them back soon and fix whatever's been done to them."

>>30197307
>>30197351
"That's a... peculiar name." Lotus mentions, before Ulfsaar grins widely at your offer to help.
"That brings me more joy than you can possibly know, Fixer. We think we know where they've taken them, followed their trail in the direction of an old, smaller hide-out they used to dwell in they may have re-taken. It is a small one, and probably a small group guarding them, but I cannot afford sending more of my own guard while the village itself is still at risk."

>>30197347
Ulfsaar nods, "Yes, one was carved into the mountain to allow carts to pull up goods and supplies for the castle."
>>
>>30197442
"Cool, we'll drive up to her house, ring the bell, slay a dragon, then come down on a gold cloud with fireworks." He stretches out and yawns. "Hoo, still pretty sleepy, excuse me."

"Oh, okay, no problem!"

>...it may only be a matter of hours before more of our people are turned...

She sighs.

"I don't want to fight more of those... monsters... but I see how urgent it is to deal with them..."
>>
>>30197442
"A'ite lets get this done and over with. Main event's waiting."
>"So the small group. We talking small group, or 'small' group of optimism."

"Well it doesn't matter how urgent it is, if we can't do anything about it. Lets just head over to the village, ask what's up there, then drive up and see for ourselves."
>>
>>30197579
>"You can't do anything, maybe. Me and Pain are going to."
>>
>>30197579
"I feel it would be better to rescue the ones who have been captured. If we rescue the princess and she can't do anything about it, she'll be sad that we helped her instead of her subjects, whom, if she's a good princess, she lives to serve and provide a good life. Her noblesse oblige has been taken out of her hooves and placed into ours."

>Market turns to Aether,
>"Look kid, you've got a good heart. That means something in show biz. You think Pain got here by being an ass? Well technically he is an ass, in the donkey kind. But I mean an asshole. No, he's got a family back at home. Two lovely foals and a lovely jenny who put up with him being out for long amounts of time. But y'know, he never forgets them. They're part of him, why he does this. Now these folks here want their family back too. I say we go rescue them. There's a hero in there."
>He pokes a hoof into Aether's chest,
"Just needs it's time to shine. The princess can handle herself, she musta got that title by being competent somehow. These families need saving!"
Pain sheds a tear, smiling,
"He sure knows how to use words."

"Oh no!" Lotus and Ulfsaar both shout in unison.

The bear chief adds on, "If you see a dragon up there, DON'T fight it. Those are Princess Kachina's guards."

>>30197535
Ulfsaar sighs, "That we could not find out for sure, their numbers, but is is certainly smaller than the group that attacked us going by the hideout's size. If most of the room is used keeping prisoners, I can't imagine too many goblins could be situated inside. If it appears to be too many to handle, you may come back and we can see how many of our own guard could be spared to help."

The bear chief nods, and rises from his seat, "Once you are all finished with your meal, let us see this 'car'. I trust you ponies to do what you think is best... I just want the urgency of our villager's plight known."

Lotus takes notice of Aether's fear, "It is urgent, and we DO need your help... but this isn't a decision we can force on you. It is a big risk to yourselves, I am certain. But we make no secret of our somewhat desperate hour."

"If you go to the south, we can offer direction on who to look for as well." Ulfsaar mentions as he begins to head outside, another crowd beginning to form at the base of the steps leading into his hut trying to peak in to see the ponies.

She lets out another sigh.

"Hahh... alright. We should save that family before they're corrupted, too. I don't like it, but it looks like the right thing to do."
