Not him, but my problem is being too autistic. Every person in this world is either above or below me in terms of social skills. If they're above me, they're normie or pretty damn close. If they're below me, they're literal retards who can't into speaking and drool on themselves. It seems like I'm the only person who's clearly socially inept. I laugh at old memes time after time. I laugh at things that aren't even funny. I interrupt people constantly. I am silent when I should be talking and can't shut up when I need to. I can never tell if someone is being genuine or not, so I assume that everyone who ever does anything nice for me is just doing it to get me off their backs or some shit like that. So I gave up on the friendship meme and I'm perfectly fine being all alone.

Nothing on my end. I'm polite, I smile a lot, I do the occasional joke and I enjoy being around people. People find me "okay".
I just don't find people interesting. They are not worth the trouble of taking a hour of subway to go to.
Hell, they're not even worth the time I'd spend watching a movie with them because I don't like doing things in general.
Maybe the fact is that I have no hobbies other than reading sci-fi/fantasy and sleeping. I don't even watch movies or drink or anything. I eat out of necessity and don't really care about it either.
I'm sort of a blank slate.

I made a 'bunch' of friends last year (like five and renewed two friendships). Some have been relegated to just Facebook friends because we haven't seen other in several months. One moved away.

Of those, I only see two regularly now. And not the renewed friendships.

I think surrounding myself with outcasts and weirdos helped. The more functional ones naturally picked up some of the slack and I proved I wasn't a complete idiot and kind of fun to have around sometimes. The majority of my newer friends either work overnights like me and have a near zero social life or are weird lgbt people who aren't too political.
Finding people you click with well enough is hard. Finding things in common is hard. Developing a healthy relationship where you both want to go out of your way to see each other? That's the last part I'm still trying to achieve.

I think my problem is i don't want to be social. When a friendship is convenient like someone you already see regularly it's easy.

I'm looking for one of those 'group package' deals where you befriend one person and the rest come along with them. Like befriending a Twilight and getting the rest of the mane six.

Being an RN is extremely stressful. You have people's lives in your hands. Physicians and family members are always telling you to do stuff. If you make mistakes, people can die. There are a lot of rules/regulations and legal stuff designed to keep patients safe but make your job hard. You have to constantly be vigilant.

Advanced social interaction--you do have to be polite and helpful to patients and their families during a stressful time. They usually don't have any medical knowledge, so you have to explain things in simple terms for them. Sometimes they don't speak English. It's sort of like being a waiter, except instead of serving food, you're saving lives.

Does it pay well? I don't know what's considered good pay. It's well above minimum wage per hour, but it also requires a college degree. Depending on the day and shift, I can make over $30/hour. Pay is dependent on many factors, but the most important factor is location. Some states pay extremely well (like California), but the cost of living is high.
