I've enjoyed the show consistently so far and I don't make headcanons. Just saying, there's a pretty strong pattern and I'm feeling optimistic. Even if it doesn't happen, it's just a ~10 minute action set piece. I don't know what happened in Jack but those guys have 10+ to ruminate on character & lore expectations. Bit of a difference.
If you'd worded it as "stop getting other people's hopes up" there'd be more to discuss. But if we're not here for recreation why are we?

Don't try to play it off like the SJ ending wasn't bad. It was shit. It shit all over Jack and his struggle. Genndy and Lammar should be ashamed of themselves. There is no way around what they did.

Yeah he did. But the whole thing was so rushed and all over the place that it removed any tension. There was no weight to the fight and the finale felt empty. They had one singular job and the utterly failed.

They should have gone with a "many worlds" type deal, where he beat aku and then found a way back; his future would still exist, but now free of aku, but he'd be free to head back home and free his past as well and live out his life happily in his home as well.


Plus, the romance... just felt like shit. Samurai jack has NEVER been about romance-- Why add it in? Why must EVERY story have Romance at its center?
Its like how they have been forcing A love interest on twilight in EQG.

Save the Jack discussion for /co/ the first two episodes of the season were like bait on the world's rustiest hook, for just a brief moment it felt like it was going to be the single best revival a cartoon had ever experienced

Furthering this point: Celaeno, the movie's Pirate Captain (also voiced by a Mahvel), is a humanoid parrot. I thought she was meant to be a griffon but somebody pointed out the legs aren't feline.
Turns out it's the name of a harpy. Instead of a bird/human mixture FiM harpies are birds with humanoid body shape, like FiM minotaurs & centaurs. (See also; Manticores having lion faces instead of human faces)

I don't mind that Jack killed all his allies. I fully expected him to go back in time and save the world. I don't like that they did it in 3 minutes and made it all about Ashi. Just look at the graveyard fight. There is such hatred between Jack and Ali there. They're both going at it to totally kill the other guy. It felt like a finale in itself. Then we have the real finale where none of those emotions carry over and the fight sucks. What happened, Genndy?
