You KNOW the EQG special with glimmer is going to have a couple hints or spoilers for the S7 finale-- all previous EQG have taken place in between seasons, like twilight talking about being stuck in a time loop from the S5 finale.
With glimmer being a major part of this special, there's almost certainly going to be some beans spilled about whats to come down the line.

We know 100% that its going to be about an alicorn OC causing harm. The Shadowlock comic is stated to tie into the season, and it ended with his ancestor being shown.
Alternatively, it could be a magical force that turns its host into a corrupted alicorn and one of the group (like starlight) gets turned into a bad Alicorn OC.
