That isn't what happened, how I felt, or what I did. Lear announced that he was hosting a public town hall and invited anybody with an opinion to attend. I had an opinion, so I attended. I never did this. I even double checked the klaxa archive just now to make sure. There are 10 instances of the words "attention whore" (one without a space) and they are almost all from comfy streamers (ironically), one from Dragonfag, one from BGP (who wasn't involved with the panel), and one from an anon. I think the very first instance of anybody bringing up "attention whore" was AlternativeRoo, a comfy streamer, saying "people throw this word around," which is a bit amusing looking back. I honestly don't know much about the comfy streamers, but it seemed to me then and seems to me now like they have a bit of a persecution complex. I keep getting accused of doing and saying things that I didn't do or say when this town hall comes up, and this is a good example.

I did say, in response to the claim that nobody in history has ever gotten into the 4CC for attention, that that was naive. I was specifically thinking of Gman/Rarifag/Pizzaman, who to my knowledge isn't a comfy streamer, so I didn't "pretty much" accuse anybody of anything, at least not any comfy streamers.

I criticized the "vote" for a number of reasons. It wasn't advertised in advance, the decision to host comfy or not was not the sort of thing that should be decided by vote in the first place, and if you're going to do a real vote, you don't do it by polling a room that you already know is primarily filled with people of one side of the debate. That's just farcical. I would have criticized a vote like that regardless of the subject matter. I've run a poll or two and that's not how it's done.

I think I've cleared up whatever misunderstanding there may have been. Beyond this point, "you hate fun and hate people!" just becomes purposeful misrepresentation.

Gegenpress doesn't make a formation better. It changes how a formation behaves in response to an opponent, so it's circumstantial. That's like saying "adding high support range makes a formation better." Sometimes, sure, but not always. If your testing always says gegenpress improves things, then there may be a problem with your testing.

We have a few different kinds on hand. I was planning to use the thinner variety since that makes the edges more precise. I am honestly not sure how it will look coming out, given the various contours of the 3d model such as the wooded texture on the back of the shield, but figure it's worth an experiment. The problem is that unless you know that the extra rolls you are making are in your favor, you're not actually helping yourself.

You make more rolls either when you know that you're going to get as high of a utility out of them as you can, or when you are running out of time. I don't think match start is necessarily the time for that. Save it for when it counts.

Last thread some anon (assuming it even was a manager) kindly tested my 4-0-6 with 4 medal defenders. While loosing sligthtly more than winning, he admitted it was stronger than he thought, which means it's a possible way to play and you might find some improvements to it.
I had another similarly weird idea: 5-4-1, with 2 gold DMF and 2 silver DMF, a 77 SS. Yaranaika scored 2 goals as a gold DMF. The point if the formation is a perfect midfield and defense while playing on attacking, aggressive sliders. We saw in /y/ that DMF can attack as well as they can defend, they are the best multi-purpose players in PES, so 4 medal DMF will exploit this.

Oh no no no no, I would not say it's a possible way to play. It entertained me, it managed to score a few goals, but ultimately it's shit. You're neutering your offense by having it consist only of 77 bumbling retards, while your defense will eventually slip even with medals on it, it's only a matter of time. Without forward medals you're basically going all in on "hopefully PES won't fuck me up with a set piece or defensive spaghetti, because I can only score one goal per five matches". And that was against possession /sci/, which made the job of the defenders easier.
The theory of dominating your half with medal defenders is nice, but your CB will almost never cross the middle line, so he passes to a 77 forward who can barely even pass, cannot run past players and cannot aim his shots. With luck he will face only 77 defenders, but more likely there will also be a silver or gold midfielder who will demolish him.
That one game when the 4-1-5 somehow won 2-0 was great, but more often than not you'll be looking at 5(0) shots and a convincing loss. If the forwards can't hold onto the ball for long, the opposing team will be pressuring you the whole game.

A 5-4-1 (with a gold striker) is more realistic. Running all DMFs, however, is not. A DMF can join the attack, but it cannot properly build one.

However, I do not wish to discourage you from trying these formations and thinking out of the box. You might discover something that absolutely breaks PES, and if not, at least it's fun. The cup needs more SDAs.

A compromise could be reached. Gold strikers, silver defenders. Or maybe a gold and silver in each. You could fiddle around with it, but you simply must have someone competent in the attack. The rest are good cannon fodder and spaghetti creators, though.

I'll make the single striker gold, because I'm expecting him to do most of the work, and give it a try. The issue is that you can't make DMFs box to box or hole players, so forcing them forward might be an issue. Anchor Man only makes them more defensive, and Destroyer means harsh tackles and loadsa cards, so they will have to be styleless. If the 9 player defense works well it might be worth, otherwise you're better off with a standard DMF - 2 CMFs - AMF midfield diamond.

Dust returned to dust months ago and this was an issue that was completely off the radar of the vast majority of cup followers. It doesn't belong in an /mlp/ cup thread, so I'm bowing out.

Your attempts to paint PMB as a bad guy are hilariously transparent. PMB is not an attention whore. His primary motivations were always to entertain /mlp/ and everyone else who watched the cup.
