But the situations are completely different.
See, they let starlight run away on the S5 opening, they always do. If the villain starts running, they let him go.
But /she/ didn't run away in the finale. She finally understood that she fucked up, was retarded and basically a sociopath, and that she needed help.
She didn't try to run away, she just gave up and let Twiggy have her way with her.

Trixie on the other hand has always ran away. There's a million different reasons why she would do that, of course. Most obvious one would be her being scared of not being accepted etc, and it's kind of proven with how she interacts with glimglam.

So, if Trixie would've asked for help, instead of disappearing in a puff of smoke, they would've helped.

In a perfect world, this would be an allusion to something coming down the line but Daybreaker being a one-off is more likely thanks to FiM's inability to do anything cool in the long term.

To be entirely fair, Sunbutt has never gotten much screentime. She steps onstage in the first scene to "tell Twilight the situation" (i.e., give the audience the exposition) then the camera pans to follow Purpledrank out the door, and we never see her again until the next episode. We very rarely see her in any other situation and she has gotten almost no spoken lines.

I love the character design of both Princesses. I think Celestia has tremendous potential as a character to contribute to the stories, but the writers ignore her. They do the same to Applejack.
