The stream had live managing and the gauntlet doesn't, so that's a difference. /sdb/ chose to run autopilot for the stream. Retired live managers placed top three and rookie and auto pilot teams placed bottom, which isn't too surprising, though RNG played a role as always.

The stream shows a single group stage. The gauntlet involves twenty repeated group stages. Every team tops the group at least once when you run that many. Wins get three points and draws get one. Most points after twenty groups wins. Losing the stream doesn't mean you can't win the most points in the gauntlet.

This gauntlet was changed from past gauntlets to include a chance to change tactics after the first ten groups were run. Some teams took advantage of that (like /sdb/) and some didn't. This skewed the results to favor the teams with the most autism rather than the teams with the best exports imo.

It's not hard to design a team countering all your opponents, especially if you just ignore the FT, /sdb/ got fucked by the formations that weren't going to be in the gauntlet.
That's probably why it got steamrolled in spring, it wasn't PRECISELY CALIBRATED for any other teams.

A gold keeper helps, but you observe that an enourmous amount of attacks is stopped by the gold defenders (with height abuse, all cards, etc). I understand the frustration very well and have had to deal with my own, but I think it's better to vent that frustration by offering specific criticism, making helpful suggestions, or best of all by getting involved than by sacking people. As disappointing as defeat is, you can't expect managers to bring you victory. You can only expect them to work hard to represent the board and to compete.
