How did you rig the eyelashes here? Do they bend/deform when the eye expression changes or do they remain relatively static? How do you maintain the distance between each eyelash even when the expression changes?

The more I think about this, the more of a nightmare I imagine they have to be.

I never understood the appeal of SFM over something like Blender.

Blender is free, like SFM, but requires next to nothing in terms of specs to run it, can use a greater plethora of model formats (including SFM models), and you can edit the models right then and there. All this SFM porn and shit look the same and use similar models because they're literally forcing themselves to use a proprietary model format.

SFM is entry level really.
Everyone goes to blender once they understand how SFM works, but SFM is way easier to pick up and use.
Also I guess it's scarier for people that never touched one of those softwares. One is a real software that is used to make games and shit and the other is literally made for memes. And now, for porn.

Good timing. Anyways, I rigged the face and eyelashes using shape keys / blend shapes rather than using bones. It is actually a very easy way to keep the face and eyelashes lining up, and animating it requires no extra work. Basically you define each happy/sad/angry expression and position the face and eyebrows at the extremes of that expression. Then you can set a slider than interpolates between the neutral expression and them.
