There are plenty of reasons people would want more folks on the Discovery train. All these people thinking the moral was "swallow your opinion" have a clear misunderstanding of what the message actually was. Partially the fault of the writer, partially the fault of retarded oversimplification.

The moral was that you should respect other people's interests/hard work, even if your opinion is that they are shit. Rarity didn't snap when Applejack was going on about how impractical each designer's clothes were, but rather when Applejack said that fashion was stupid. Applejack then learnt her lesson when she was told that apples were stupid and realised that her opinion stemmed from a lack of understanding in the area of fashion.

It's annoying how yet again the episode had a good setup, but tackled the wrong problem. All Applejack needed was a reminder that she isn't the expert in fashion and that her job is not to make the designers change their designs, but point out practical flaws and work on fixing them.

I would have worn Inky Rose's designs in high school, and I remember hunting for a long coat just like that. Starstreak's futuristic designs are very chic, especially the second and third. Lily Lace's dresses feel a bit standard, which isn't necessarily a bad thing; I feel they're the most aesthetically suited to the MLP universe.

Just got done watching it: honestly it was alright. I know memefags are going to hate it cause their waifu isn't in it, but AJ was mostly in character, Rarity and Pinkie were fine; the artists were interesting and the designs put out looked good; the lesson of being too honesty is one AJ hasn't really had to face as she does more the opposite to lessen hurt feelings but here it actually makes sense as AJ did warn Rarity and we know AJ doesn't know how to approach fashion.

The whole apple vs strawberry scene was completely stupid and the lowest point and felt like something drawn from fan comics that like to flanderize AJ. And it was strange to have AJ essentially in a Rarity episode with Rarity's support cast, not a place AJ can hope to shine without messing up. The ending was a bit too cliche though the episode had more heart than the spa episode.

OK so Rarity asks Applejack to be a judge, Apples says that its a bad idea and that she knows nothing about fashion, Rarity insists and tells Applejack she will only be commenting on the practicality of the clothes and giving an honest opinion.

Apples does exactly what Rares asked her to do and the arty types leave in a huff because they can't stand being criticized (pro tip faggots, lots of people are not going to like your art, if you can't deal with that give up now).

How the fuck was this Applejack's fault? She warned Rarity that this wasn't going to work and followed her instructions to the letter, Rarity didn't even bother to tell AJ there was a problem FFS!

So after letting things fall apart compleately Rarity take her good friend to see a total bitch and Applejack, the most level headed and mature of the mane six, suddenly has a temper tantrum about someone not likeing apples. THIS IS A FUCKING RAINBOW DASH REACTION NOT APPLEJACK, AJ would be all "Welp sorry about your shit taste but more Apples for the rest of us".

The plot of this episode was bad and the writer should feel bad, its only the voice actors and animators that saved it from princess spike tier.

I rate this episode 7/10. It was pretty entertaining though I felt like AJ's opinions lasted for too long.

Loved how they made AJ realize what she did wrong by interacting with another character instead of exposition and loved that they brought back that BGM in that same scene remind me of S1

Many of AJ's comments in the first half made a lot of sense from her point of view. Will ponies buy a dress that's too hard to put on, especially for earth ponies? The strawberry scene stood out because S1-S5 Applejack was less about APPLES (fandom meme) and more work obsessed and family issues type of character. She barring Fluttershy is the less inclined of the cast to get upset over something that small.
