I'm a flutterfag and I don't post in these threads.

I feel like the Fluttershy that I favored among the main 6 during season 1 and 2 is not the same as we are getting now. I know that the only thing that really changed is that she is more bold now, but I cant help but feel that she has become devoid of life in a sense. Am I wrong or is her character really changing for the worst?

For the character Fluttershy is, I think the writers did a mostly good job in keeping her enjoyable. The nature of a shy, timid character means that they are very limited in their reactions to new situations.

The real issue is that some of the writers don't keep her character consistent. Sometimes she does a 180 from shy to assertive, leading to the "Flutterbitch" posters. There are also cases like the last Flutter episode where she just seems slightly ooc and 'dumb'/unpleasant. She's still my favorite, we just have to put up with cuckposters and occasional bad writing.

My headcanon (which has been both confirmed and contradicted in the actual show) is that pegasus ponies are like birds and have hollow bones and are super lightweight allowing them to fly with relatively small wings.

But I think that's not really the canon reason. The canon explanation is "they can fly and walk on clouds just because they can, some pegasus magic or some shit"
