/sci/ is has been hilariously bad lately, and /n/ is... a shit wildcard... Wooden spoon babby, but good enough to get to an elite when they want to, and then wooden spoon that.

Rough loss, good game from /his/. Damage control incoming.

We had a variety of tactics prepared based on the way the game played out. They look "banic" because they were quite different from each other, and additionally because some tactics (longball cough cough) have been basically throwing the game in previous versions of PES. We've played a lot of longball internally, and it's not throwing the game at all in 17.

In this case, we had an unlucky header go in, and turned on the "catch up and score" strats (team had a hard time getting out of our half, used a strategy designed to push up higher, etc). When they weren't working, we tried our other high-powered offense strat, and it looked good but wasn't enough.

All the tactics we used were tested against something fairly similar to what /his/ ran, including the ones that looked goofy, but even strong tactics lose sometimes.

We've already put work in on /n/ and will be working up til kickoff. Don't lose hope and thanks for watching, as always.

I can take any two competent teams, play them against each other five times, and both of them will lose at least once. Just because it didn't work out this one game on stream doesn't mean it's completely trash 100% of the time.

A summary execution surely isn't the best, but I have to agree that if a full council can't stay out of fetus in a mediocre group, there would be need for some approach rethinking somewhere in /clop/ unless the remaining games are extraordinary PESings. I doubt it'll come that far though, one loss isn't the world and in the end it looked pretty decent. /his/ just suddenly decided to have a functioning defence and the no-midfield tactics /mlp/ plays remain questionable.

I'd say the first half was nearly dead even, with a slight /his/ advantage. They only scored on a lucky break with Best Pony's foul leading to a set piece leading to a goal. I'd expect a second half of it to be again close, with a good chance the slight advantage would shift as it often does. I see that ending 1-1, maybe better or worse depending on which second half scripts activated.

The long ball was weak as it often seems to be. I believe it worked in tests, but it's always a coinflip and I wasn't surprised we conceded again without score, /his/ looked much more dangerous throughout this phase.

Magic is new to livemanaging, but he did a fine job, and it's great the new guy is getting experience doing this for real.
