2nd Album info:
>What is this, though?
The 2nd /MLP/ Plays album, that’s what! Following the success of the first one, we decided that the world needs another. Like before, it will be a compilation album from the musicians of /mlp/. There is no specific genre that has to be adhered to, but there will be more guidelines to follow this time.
>What are the guidelines?
This time around, it’s been decided that the music for this album has to be pony related. “But what what does that mean!?” you may be wondering. Well, here is what we mean:
Songs need to be original or redone covers based off of the below conditions. It may be but is not limited to:
•Cover/remix of the music from the show.
•An original that is based off of a riff/motif/recognizable theme from the show
•Original piece that uses samples from the show (probably more than just one gasp at the end. Should really be part of the song)
•Original songs with pony related lyrics, like "Waifu Blues" or "All Ponies Must Be Perfect" from the last album.
•Redoing the music and lyrics to be pony related. Mr. Bones's Wild Ride (Hotel California Parody) from the last album is a good example.
•Includes /mlp/ related maymays/jokes/culture.
•No singing over instrumentals of other artists’ songs. "I Am Awesome" is an example. It would, however, be OK if the instrumental was redone.

Early morning bump
I'm posting this to bump the thread, but also to help give some publicity to another thread on /mlp/ which can be found here >>30041720
The OP of that thread would really appreciate it if you could take a moment check it out and take the poll that they've made. You can find more information about it in the thread itself. Even if you don't want to take the poll, you can help out by using this copypasta whenever you bump a thread on /mlp/ until May 14th, after which point the poll will close. Please only use this copypasta if you were otherwise going to bump a thread without contributing content to prevent spam.

Is anybody interested in singing for QT Mk Crusaders?
From last thread: http://www.mediafire.com/file/a2f6oq9teyf72rc
I've uploaded hopefully enough material to suffice anyone who wants to sing it.
Song is written by Dzahlus.
I did the majority of the composition with additions made by Dzahlus and ElectroCelloFag.
Anoridan was slated to do the mixing (has put together the demo/collab so far), added the drums as well as emulated piano and his friend did the bass.
Engie did the violin.
I'm supposed to be bringing the whole thing together.
Singer required: apply within.
Cello part optional.
I know I posted most of the source material for the song I made. But I forgot to post the source material for the isolated guitar. So here's a link to the source for just the guitars. Guitar parts definitely need leveled out or something.

>>30052552I couldn't do your song justiceHopefully you can find a vocalist for it.
Can I post something I did? It's not for the album, but I just wanted to share, and get some feedback.
>>30054317
Yeah, you can post stuff here. I mean, I think album-related things is more favorable, but I don't see why it would matter

Backstory was I took an old piano composition of mine and arranged it for a full orchestra, and got a live reading of it. I think it turned out okay. I've listened to it, and there's already a whole bunch I want to fix.
>>30054953
I love the way it sounds. I feel that some of the progressions give it an emotional feel. I don't know much about orchestral pieces to point out any flaws though.

>live reading of it
Are you telling me this was played live, and also the recording is live?
Interesting...
At least, in this file you shared, the instruments are a little weak and in some parts they mix (like the background violins with the main melody), but maybe that was because how it was recorded.
Overall is pretty good (im not gonna lie, i love classical music, but this variation of classical it's not really my thing, im more into things like, for example, Gustav Holst).
How long have you been into classical music and playing piano?
>>30055363
Thanks, man
>>30055833
Glad you like it. We only had a single recording device up front, right next to the violins, so they're a bit over-represented, and there was no mixing involved.
I've been playing piano four about five years now, and have been into classical music for about as long.
