Reminder that the roster morphed into a gallery of mostly old 4cc-core players that are no longer used by the board anymore, and I say it's time to freshen things up a little.
Both Tracy and Twilight are medals purely by tradition, while Glimmer that is the topic of every second non-general thread here is playing as a right-back. I think a medal vote would be apt.
Half of the roster features outdated memes, and players like Cheerileeder or Razzle Dazzle have no reason to be on the roster. Cheerilee was a flavor of the day thing when the episode aired and Razzle Dazzle is there just so Kregg can scream the name on air and do meme stuff.

Maybe it's worth a shot, but it feels like the comic storytimes have been slowly losing steam over time as they keep shooting themselves in the foot over and over again to the Anons that participate in them.
The Mediafire for the last comic, which ended a main series arc, got about half the downloads compared to what I saw on average over the the last three months of 2016 for the comics. Some of the Friends Forevers back then even got more.

He's not that wrong, 4CC teams are supposed to represent the current state of the board plus a few classics, not mostly classics and memes that aren't used anymore. There are other teams that aren't very up-to-date too, and they're also mostly looked down upon for that. The thing with /mlp/ is that the current state of the board just isn't great and doesn't have a lot of big memes, so falling back to classics is pretty much the only viable way unless we want the team to be something even we don't like.

We're internally divided about the question of whether we should have permagolds. My personal spicy take, not /clop/'s collective judgment, is that Best Pony should be a permagold but >rape should not. That's a rare thing to actually respond these days. The managers are Darkbow, Emulpee, and myself. PMB retired as a manager in March 2016 and has been retired since then. Decisions are made by a majority vote of the three managers but the feedback of other folks (testers, ex-managers) is usually considered.

Summer 16 was the last cup I helped test for. Once the new guys were hired on, /mlp/ had more than enough manpower and they quickly surpassed any of our previous testing efforts in terms of sheer volume. I've said in the past that it isn't possible to "brute force" PES, but they may yet prove me wrong.

The current managers are devoted to the team and have a strong vision for running it. Behind the scenes has been pretty much nonstop anticipation and excitement for Spring and the upcoming changes to the roster. If anybody was worried, I can tell you for a fact that they're taking the comments and criticisms offered here seriously and factoring those things into the discussions about how to proceed. /mlp/ is in good hands and everybody is doing their part to be an advocate of the fans.

For now, I just help with the Friendship Tests by streaming, but even that may change depending on what people want in the future.

I think there's plenty of reason for optimism. Doing well in PES is some undefined mixture of hard work and luck, and /mlp/ has a reputation for both. The guys seems very confident in their export this season and they're eager to see how it does in actual cup matches, so that should give people reason to be hopeful.

Now that I don't have to test, I'm personally less focused these days on winning and more excited about overcoming the odds, so I don't really think of it in terms of optimism or pessimism. I think it would be fun to have a nail-biter group and go into the second weekend with a do-or-die scoreboard, rather than win all of the matches outright or have a second weekend that doesn't matter, but I know that would induce heart attacks in most all of the fans and in the testers. As long as our games are entertaining, it doesn't matter to me so much what the end result is.

I can't wait for /sdb/ to fucking win AGAIN.
