Will she ever fly?

They're so determined to change the status quo in recent seasons I don't know why they don't just tie off this plot arc already.

It wouldn't even ruin her character like reforming Diamond Tiara did to her character. You'd just see her flying around instead of walking in future episodes.

They haven't really alluded to what's holding her back, just that something is (which honestly made that episode where she was goaded into trying to fly kind of awkward because it isn't explained what exactly is preventing that from happening even though it might have helped the plot).

It could be that there's nothing wrong. I think that's an acceptable endgame. Of all the character-changing events that have happened or could happen, this one isn't so bad.

There has to be -something- wrong; whether it's physical or psychological.

Now that I think about it though, if there's something physically wrong with her wings, I wonder if she can swap them out for some sick prosthetics like future Dash.

Or she can just grab a hang glider Applebloom was using or that GoH jet pack.

My theory is that Scootaloo's physical growth excluding her wings are too rapid it's making the balance of wing and body collapsed and unable to fly.
