so i loved this episode a lot. it's in the running for my favorite.

fluttershy basically screamed at ponies for cutting her off. i admire her for it; it was my favorite scene. i can't put to words how many times i wish i could have. it gets really fucking old when people won't listen to you because you're easy to interrupt and you're not loud.

If you had actually watched the episode, you would have seen that she didn't do any of the actual work in the final building sequence.

It makes sense that she reacted the way she did to the experts' behavior, but she didn't need to yell at her friends, and some of their ideas would have fit fine into an animal sanctuary. Even if she didn't like those ideas, her friends weren't trying to take over or assuming they knew better, they genuinely wanted to help. A gentle reminder was all they needed. It would have been a good opportunity for the episode to show that having your own vision doesn't mean being completely inflexible or dismissing outside suggestions without consideration. She barely even heard her friends' ideas out before refusing them, which she only seemed to do because she hadn't been the one to think of them.

Mind you, it is in character for Fluttershy to go too far in an attempt to avoid a previous mistake. I only wish it hadn't been portrayed as the right way to handle the situation.

The instructions they failed to follow weren't unclear at all. She said no walls, they built walls. She said no curtains, they put in curtains. She said no cages, they brought cages. It's not a matter of the plan being hard to follow, none of the experts complained about that. They just didn't like the idea, so they changed it without so much as a warning.
