Other one's at bump limit. I wager anons will come along soon without knowing "Fluttershy Leans in" aired early

Question
When Fluttershy asked the Main 6 for help, was she hoping they'd do the construction, design and comfort? If so, who was going to be the expert? Big Daddy McColt only came later as the expert

Problem is the moral is the polar opposite of Art of the Dress.

In that Rarity (the expert) is hounded after by her patrons who end up ruining her vision with their shitty ideas of how they imagine their dresses. The moral is that the expert knows best. In the end Rarity doesn't listen to their ideas and does what she wanted to do orignally.

In this, Fluttershy puts forward her ideas to the experts who don't listen to her, instead doing what they want themselves. Moral is don't let experts define your dream and insist it be how you imagined it.

Is this Discord's fault?
What the fuck happened to her?
She's not shy or kind, she's a fucking cunt.
I fucking hate this cunt.

do you have a rip for episode 4?
>>
>>29986587
Berrows tried to make her consisted with her lessons but she made her too tactless and unconsiderate of others. Like for fuck sake how were they suppose to read from that "blueprint"?
>>
>>29986575
The difference is that Fluttershy is an expert in her own regard in this case.
>>
>>29986696

She's an expert in animals, not construction. She should have just asked other experts experineced with animals than either trying her own shit or bunch of people who didnt understand her problem. also she acted like they raped her rather than waste their entire day coming to her and helping her out for free.
>>
>>29986536
When is the dailymotion link?
>>
>>29986575
But it's not the opposite.
AotD has the dumb customer who thinks he knows best, but in this episode you have all experts, just in different fields.
Of course the fashionfag will know what will look good, and Bob the Builder over there will know just what will make the most stable house out there, but they don't know what's good for the animals. Fluttershy is the expert on animals, she knows what they want.
Moral is just because you have an engineering degree doesn't mean you're an expert on climate change.
>>
>>29986763
>>29986736
>>
>>29986575
The main difference is that Fluttershy, the patron, knew what was needed for an animal sanctuary, but was dealing with workers who had zero experience with animal sanctuaries and tried to stick with what they know.

Art of the dress was a case of the patrons not really knowing what goes into making a good dress, trying to dictate how Rarity, who actually has experience making dresses, made their dresses.

Its the situation that's polar opposite, not the moral.
>>
>>29986784
She asked her friends they gave her these retards.
>>
>>29986736
>>29986784
Fluttershy wasn't mostly in the wrong here. She gave the ponies clear instructions - what fabric to use, what cages to use, the exception being the construction worker, because if I remember correctly she just told him to use the trees or something and gave him a picture how she imagines it without being clear.
All three completely disregarded what she said. Fashion pony decided he knows best and went directly against her instructions, Wrangler decided to throw pillows in a cage instead of using the basket-like nests or whatever that was, Bob the Builder just didn't give a fuck and decided to build a fucking house.
Her being frustrated is understandable because nobody listened to her, which is also something she gets a lot. So she told them a firm "thanks but fuck off".

She didn't need other experts experienced with animals. Wrangler kinda was, anyway. But she knew exactly what she wanted, she just needed someone who would do as she told them without trying to bring their own input into it.
>>
If you asked your best friend to help make your dream kitchen, and they told you "I've got the perfect person for the job!", then I come in and flat out tell you that you don't know what you want, I'm making this room a bathroom. You would be ticked off too. It doesn't matter if I spent free time out of my day making this for you, it wasn't what you wanted and I completely ignored your wishes. That makes me a pretty shitty person in my book. Fluttershy reacted exactly how she should have.

Something feels really off about this episode. I cant quite put a finger on it...

Maybe its because she knew who to call the whole time but still had some roundabout progression with her friend's experts. It sorta felt like the first attempt was really empty filler.

That said, it was neat to have Fluttershy not be a complete doormat, and the callback to the McColts and co was neat I guess.
>>
>>29986575
It's actual the polar opposite The Saddle Row Review
>>
....I dont even know how to rate the episode. Aside from the norm of Fluttershy being unable to put her hoof down to get something done being absent, it feels like nothing really notable happened.
>>
>>29987514
I know what you mean.
Personally I think the part in the beginning where Angel jumped around was longer than it should be just to fill time.

Was this episode "comfy" or merely boring?
>>
>>29987568
No explosions and laser fights means it's boring.
>>
>>29987568
I mean, it was something.
I guess.
Not really comfy since there really wasn't too much focused character interaction to enjoy throughout. It was just:

Flutters: Guys, I want to build a shelter
M5: Kay, we'll send some guys we recommend
(later)
Flutters: REEEE you didnt do it how I wanted it done! You're fired! I'll have somepony I knew from the get-go handle this with my friends!

>Shelter is built

Flutters: Yay.

It's not a "blueprint." It's a dream board. She can't draw a blueprint. She had a very nice picture drawn out for the other experts to work with. But then they think they know what's right. Which they clearly don't because they aren't Fluttershy, expert of animals.
>>
>>29988756
Then Fluttershy should've let someone else make a blueprint instead of going out of control.

Pretty useful.

NASA could watch it before exploding rockets just because engineers "know what they are doing".

The Apple family is pretty accustomed to building barns.
Surely the Main 6 would need someone else who knows what they're doing to guide them in making the Sanctuary.

Big Daddy McColt came later in the episode, but back before AJ, Rarity and Pinkie got their specialists involved, what was Fluttershy hoping to do? Have the Main 6 just do it?

The whole episode felt off. Why didn't she just get the McColt from the start?

There was barely any conflict.
>>
>>29990327
What was there for them to do? Put up a tire swing and fill up a pond? Put up a fence?

Why did she make it sound like it was this glorious thing with a perfect vision behind it and get her friends all wound up and eager to help when what she wanted was in fact rather simple and could have been done just by herself?

I seriously think she just wanted to brag and make her friends give a shit. But at the same time I don't really see how this is a big dream of hers, nor one that requires her being beyond S1 tier of development. In fact, if she were only at that stage of development there would be no episode because she would just do the simple things she wanted without telling anyone.
>>
>>29986575
The point of the episode is that Flutters had the expertise, but not the skill. She knew what the animals needed but it just so happens that she wasn't very good at building/decorating/whatever it is that Wrangler was trying to do, so she relied on people with the necessary skills to get shit done right.

I guess the moral is something to the effect of "make sure you know what you're doing before trying to make changes in a project, and fucking tell people when you intend to do so."
>>
>>29990463
How come she didn't call McColt earlier though? I mean, at first it seemed like she wasn't going to have any special expertise since she asked the 6.
>>
>>29986628

Day of the rake soon?

>>29986689

Canadians are master shitposters, though the Aussies are IMHO better. Their resistance to toxic threads is legendary.
>>
>>29990673
You just answered your own question there. I imagine she planned on relying on her friends until they mentioned more capable, specialized persons for the job.
>>
>>29990692
But when those capable ponies fell through, she called McColt, for his expertise in addition to the 6. Wouldn't she have needed that specialism from the getgo, even if she did just plan on using the 6?
Ergo, couldn't she have called McColt earlier?
>>
>>29990697
>Hey Fluttershy, we know a bunch of people nearby who can help you with your project
>Nah, fuck them. You know who I'm calling? That hick dude who lives in the middle of bumfuck nowhere and probably has shit to do

I mean, she could have called him earlier but I don't think it's unreasonable to imagine he might have slipped her mind, especially when there were other people available already.
>>
>>29990720
>Hey Fluttershy, we know a bunch of people(!) nearby who can help you with your project
But if her original plan consisted of her friends, rather than these Ponies, wouldn't she still have needed a Specialist to call?
>>
>>29990729
Probably. And it'd probably go about as well as it did with the specialists.

I don't really understand what you're getting at here.
>>
>>29990729
Fluttershy: I want build thing can help?
Others: we not too sure, maybe know somepony who can
Fluttershy: :D
Experts : wat want ?
Fluttershy : thing
Experts : we not understand thing , we do thang instead , we understand thang
Fluttershy : not want thang :( pls go
Fluttershy: maybe gnome pony know thing ?
Gnome : me try thing
And thing gets made, is this really so hard to understand?
>>
>>29990748
That that specialist could have been McColt, no? If she was planning this thing didn't she have a specialist in mind before asking the 6?
>>29990758
Maybe I'm just being retarded in the way I'm saying it, try bearing with me here
>Want thing
>Will ask friends for thing
>Will need specialist too
>Will call McColt
>Ask friends
>They mention other specialists
>McColt coming anyway as part of original plan
>>
>>29990894
You're assuming she knew she was going to need a specialist when she asked her friends for help, when that's not the case. It was just AJ mentioning Wrangler that got the whole trainwreck started.
>>
>>29990927
>You're assuming she knew she was going to need a specialist
Wouldn't she? Surely to get the whole ball going she'd need one to implement her plan? The Main 6 can help with tasks but they weren't construction workers
>>
>>29991020
If she would or not is neither here nor there, she asks the 6 for help and AJ pipes up talking about this lady she knows, and the rest follow suit.

It seems she need an expert, sure, but that doesn't mean she's automatically aware that she does.
>>
>>29991043
>It seems she need an expert, sure, but that doesn't mean she's automatically aware that she does.
Surely you'd need to be to have a Sanctuary actually made? Or do you reckon the 6 would have just been able to handle it?
>>
Discord could have built the whole thing in seconds
>>
>>29991063
Dude, I'm not Fluttershy, I don't know what goes down inside her head. What I know, though, is that based on the episode, it doesn't seem like she thought she'd need help other than her friends when she called them over.

Maybe that makes her a dumb horse or something, but it's what happened.
>>
>>29991081
>it doesn't seem like she thought she'd need help other than her friends
Fair enough, in the end, it was her friends who helped bring it all together after all.
>>
>>29987414
What felt off to me was that it seemed like they were going to build a hospital, which is exactly what the vet pony needed, and Fluttershy went "NO I WANT MAH SANCTUARY!", wasting their time and effort.
>>
>>29991081
>>29991197
but then why would Fluttershy even call mccolt, when she might have thought her friends could do it?

There were mainly three reasons why I didn't like season 6.
>episodes where the ponies where complete cunts for no reason other than to force a conflict
>episodes where the ponies had a bad time and the episode laughed at them
>episodes where Glimmer was perfect and/or everyone loved Glimmer for no reason

There was a tiny bit of the first one in All Bottled Up, and another bit of the first and the last one in Rock Solid Friendship, but there was nothing of that in this episode. Fluttershy was assertive without being a bitch, there was zero cringe humor, and Glimmer was just another character and she didn't hog the spotlight.

I've been bitching for months because I fucking despised season 6, and this episode was literally the opposite of everything I hated in season 6. I don't care if it was "boring", if we get more episodes like this or A Flurry of Emotions instead of the shit we got last year, I'll be more than happy.
>>
>>29991611
