on a non-shitposty note, I thought this scene was interesting because of pony eye behavior.

pony pupil size has been shown to be directly correlated to the ponies emotions. they change to express the ponies emotions.

human pupil size changes due to light intensity. the brighter it is, the smaller your pupils get and the darker it is, the larger your pupils get.

the sudden light caused the pupils to contract, like would a humans.
if there is a correlation between light intensity and pony pupil size and also between pony emotions, then I wouldn't want to be a pony. Getting surprised would make everything dark and going massive pupil cute would make the world blindingly bright.
