I don't know how I feel about Fluttershy's assertiveness. There are points where it feels it crosses from assertiveness to combativeness. Honestly I think it would have been stronger if she used a mix of assertiveness and her kindness to keep the other experts in line rather than outright firing them and burning bridges. Sure that's needed sometimes like in the case of certain auteurs, but it seemed excessive here and really it's not really all that of a realistic lesson to teach youngins. I think I'll need to give it a rewatch.

I liked Fluttershy standing up for herself and not taking shit from anyone when she knew what she wanted was what was best for the animals. She had plenty of chances to buckle to her friends and other ponies and she stood her ground. Showing development sticking like that is something I enjoyed seeing. She even realized that she really is the expert when it comes to animals and gained a bit of confidence from it.

I really enjoyed it too. It was sort of similar to Art of the Dress in terms of the Client and the Contractor not meeting eye to eye.
It did surprise me just how bold Fluttershy was with the entire ordeal though. She TOLD them exactly what was wrong with their design, then got rid of them right there.
Was also really cool to see big Daddy McColt and the friends all come together to help build the sanctuary.
I can get people saying there was no real conflict, because had her friends helped from the getgo she'd probably have her sanctuary, but that's life.

It wasn't development to me either. It was showing the development sticking even when she had lots of chances to give in. The point of the episode to me was showing she's able to stick to her guns for sure now, this will obviously be ignored in the future depending on the writer however, and now she's pretty much done developing since they showed there's nothing left to shake her.
