While not the inventor of the idea, 4chan is far and away most people's main source for communication of this type. It's sort of like the Windows of anonymous communication, it sucks but everyone uses it anyway for basically the same reasons people still use Windows. It's just that I can separate show Twilight and fantasy Twilight and I don't like getting the two mixed, which is a way that I can keep reality and fantasy at a healthy distance.

Since the show Twilight is more real, I can't make her my waifu. Even though we riff off of ponies all the time out of good-natured (at least for me anyways) cynicism, if I made her a mere "waifu" it would seem disrespectful because she was never mine to begin with.
