Hey there, /mlp/
I am not a brony, I do not show particular interest for the show, either.
However! I am interested in the community surrounding it!

I've got some questions for you guys, and I'd hope to see some answers.

1) What do you think attracts the show to an audience above the age of the show's original intended audience?

2) What do you think attracted you to the community/the show?

3) Describe a brony for me

Ponies.
>2) What do you think attracted you to the community/the show?
Ponies.
>3) Describe a brony for me
Not a pony.

I wanna swallow this bait!

>1) What do you think attracts the show to an audience above the age of the show's original intended audience?
Nowadays? Mainly the whole controversy that the show and its community had created. People get sick of knowing it's a thing but not knowing what kind of a thing it is.
And it figures the show is actually pretty decent so when one tries it they can easily start enjoying it.

Die-hard fans, however, are the result of the community itself. It has absurd amounts of content, has its own history, happenings, and culture. Even now, when the 2012 bandwagon is a long time gone, we still have plenty of content creators who write stories, draw art, make animations, and create music.

>2) What do you think attracted you to the community/the show?
I knew it was a thing for about a year but had no idea what it was. Then, YouTube started slapping various pony-related videos in my recommendations. I clicked a few of them and decided it was relatively decent.
In the middle of this one
https://youtu.be/qVCFV7jT9ho
I've concluded to myself "it might be worth watching", stopped the video and downloaded the whole first season.
>3) Describe a brony for me
An adult person who likes MLP.

>1) What do you think attracts the show to an audience above the age of the show's original intended audience?
Being good
Watching kids shows is not odd or abnormal for adults especially not on places like 4chan, I don't know if you know this...but we have this board called /co/, where people almost do nothing but talk about watching kids cartoons ALL DAY, gasp, in fact talk about "adult shows" is the minority!

And that being said, MLP is not as Barneyfag says "Barney", the reason this show got any fans at all to begin with was that it was a drastic departure from earlier gens

>2) What do you think attracted you to the community/the show?
Enjoying the show and wanting to talk about it with other people

>3) Describe a brony for me
No

>1) What do you think attracts the show to an audience above the age of the show's original intended audience?
Cute characters for starters, but really originally it was that the show walked the fine line of telling recognizable, easy stories without "talking down" to the audience. Characters could be sympathized with, yet weren't rended down to two-dimensional simplistic archetypes.

>2) What do you think attracted you to the community/the show?
Bizarrely, it was the lore and fantasy setting that really grabbed me. It was never the first and foremost focus of the show, and lately it's been fucked over by the writers, but that was really what caught me - the world seemed to be wide-open and thoughtfully developed rather than just a backdrop for the characters to act in.

>3) Describe a brony for me
Impossible. You can as much ask to describe a fan of Star Wars or Lord of the Rings.
>>
>What do you think attracts the show to an audience above the age of the show's original intended audience?
It's charming. Characters personalities are incredible well written, it's always fun to see they interacting between themselves, the way they speak and react to things is really awesome. And the world and mythology is way better than most games and book series. Overall, i feel like what attracts people is how charming, cute, funny and intelligent the show is at the same time. It's refreshing for the mind.

>What do you think attracted you to the community/the show?
Is always good to talk about things you like with other people that also likes the same things, share opinions and thoughts. Fan arts and fan fictions are usually nice as well. The best thing about this community i would say is how much people cares about the show, hating some things and loving other things shows how much this fanbase truly likes it and want to see it getting better.

>Describe a brony for me
Well, there all kinds of bronys, quite hard say, but they usually are nice people... i guess.

1) What do you think attracts the show to an audience above the age of the show's original intended audience?

Autism and porn.

2) What do you think attracted you to the community/the show?

Porn

3) Describe a brony for me
Someone who likes the show for more then just the porno.
They are fans of more then the fandom.
They may legitimately get angry when you say you just want to rape sweetie bell.
>>
>>29948517
>misspelling the name of your rape victim
disgusting
>>
>>29948592
Look rape is only a casual hobby for me.
I have maybe some rope, a little chloroform, a van.
But that's it. I'm not some autist who makes their whole life about rape.
Get off my case.
