If you're not a retard, you can set it show hidden folders don't show up at all. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's the default option for most OSs. You would have to purposely be snooping around someone's computer and set it to show hidden folders (as faded like you said). At that point you're just a dick and know you're going to find something you didn't want to see.
