First of all, I wasn't the guy who said his eyes are green, so I haven't said what color I believe is the true color. Now, on to why I find using the bait image strange.
Assuming that his eyes aren't green, what kind of bait would simply saying his eyes are green even be? Who would that even trigger? That is why I find using the bait image weird. Whether the statement of his eyes being green is true or false, I can't see how it would trigger anyone, which is why I find the usage baffling. To me, it seems like a complete lack of understanding on what the word "bait" means.

Also, I see nothing confusing about saying his eyes are blue. That's a pretty straight forward statement, and it doesn't provoke erroneous thought since it's a matter of instant observation, so it doesn't apply to this case. Same with annoy, what's so annoying about just saying his eyes are green?
