A weird event has caused a large number of humans, particularly posters on /mlp/, to disappear from Earth and wake up in the land of Equestria as a pony (or Griffon), and none of them have cutie marks. With the sheer number of “trans-dimensional refugees”, the Royals have decided the best course of action would be to send them all to the expanding southeastern Equestrian frontier. The Royals have sent some bare supplies and materials to get started, and the Equestrians have set up a humble embassy staffed with advisors.

You and your fellow horsefuckers must work together to make this town flourish, explore, and tame the regional area.

Make a character (can be Earth, Pegasus, Unicorn, Zebra, or Griffon) and join the Discord: https://discord.gg/heFv8

The point of this game is content creation consisting of writefagging, artfagging, roleplay, and PnP Quests (we need GMs!)

The town lives or dies by the will of the people through out-of-character choices regarding city-building and resource management discussed in the thread, as well as in-character events which occur during the course of play.

(The town is located in the red circle pointed to on the Equestrian map)

NO RP IN THREAD!

Sounds like fun.

That being said if you guys want to build not only a town, but a kingdom all our own. Then here are some in thread rules you need to check out.

First from the region in OP we have a simple basic map that we can choose our starting area at, make sure to choose wisely Anon's after all you're living here now.

After that we were given some starting funds by the Equestrians to make our living. Enough materials and funds to at least get our first town started. Though as a reminder, this is a loan, not a free gift, any excess we don't spend will be less we owe the kingdom of Equeatria in the long run. We will need to at least start some form of payment at the end of the year.[In 12 turns as this uses a monthly system of time per turn]

Here is your starting fund: 50 BP

The list of buildings to start are as follows... in the next post as there are a lot.
>>
>>29938701
Spend 50 bp on filly treats

anyways the origin of this little project is a collaborative story told through thread based decisions and writefagging. The main process is "you're suddenly in Equestria, you're put to work in a town, what can you do, what do you do, etcetera"
>>
>>29938739

Now in terms of figuring out what the fuck all these stats are here is the break down.

Economy= Money to pay for shit
Stability=Making sure people don't get stabbed
Loyalty= Making sure other people don't stab you and respect DA LAW

There are other bits, but we'll get to that in a little bit.

That being said gimme some lists with your spending money and we'll see what we can get.

the swamp has a river and gems to mine.

it is also insanely defensible if you can conquer and turn it to your advantage.

though perhaps not the best for farming ill admit, its far from impossible, plus its also somewhat close to the shore, so we can(potentially) order large quantities of supplies via sea easier.

also we get to tell people to get out of our swamp, so....

>>29938871

There is some regal figure sprouting on some nonsense as you try to get to your feet again. Its... hard, you look down... you're one too! Just like everyone else you're a horse now!
>Time... goes by quickly. Turns out you've been sucked from your world to this strange new one. Everyone around you is just like you... a human from earth dragged across some plane of reality and to this nightmare of a horse... earth. They are rounding up everyone who came through and taking them... taking them to some place for them to all be with each other. Seems like they just want to get rid of you like everyone else does...

>>
>>29938922
sounds like a good idea yeah. only other thing actually thats probably outright necessary to start off with, plus itll help us mine the gems.

good thinking.

City wall-8
2 farms- 4(12)
3 house- 9(21)
2 Mill- 12(33)
Library- 6(39)
Smith- 6(45)

i say save the last 5, no reason to break bank, plus with everything else we should slowly be able to get our own stuff without going in debt.
>>
>>29938938
Works for me. If something comes up and we suddenly need something else, we have some wiggle
>>
>>29938938
that looks good. And then if we want to write stories like the incredibly talented and no doubt handsome gentleman already has tried to do, we can add all sorts of flavor thats not directly on that list, like a town square or something
>>
>>29938959
ill try to get some bits up once im back from work.

probably use it to bump thread if nothing else.

otherwise i think we more or less seem to agree on what our start should look like, so at this point its a "Whats next"?

plan out where everything is gonna go? much more important then most think, an organized city is a functioning city.

If this is your choice then, it shall be so. As Equestrian aide has been dispatched to help us set up for the first turn as it where all of these building effects will activate now.

Now my little ponies, how will you build your town? Image related as that is the grid in which you buildings shall be built upon.

The green squares are aviable slots for construction, the white lines between then are the streets which much up the town while the black lines work as alley ways in your city. One last thing; your buildings have a set amount of space needed to be built. That being said you can for example have a 2 slot building spread across a street just not across other buildings.

Here are the slot requirements:
City wall- None Required, it's outside the town silly.
2 farms- 4 slots each
3 house- 1 slots each
2 Mill- 1 slots each
Library- 1 slots each
Smith- 1 slots each

my thoughts.

Mills are together to increase efficiency, however farms are apart so if something happens we dont lose all at once.

tried to put the smith away from everything, less chance of fire spreading.

houses put strategically so everyone can get where they work faster, library in position not to be too far from anyone.

That is correct! Houses work as stepping stones for vital shops and other services that can be provided in a town that being said a key item about mills that most should be aware of is that they require a water source, so they will most likely need to be move to the right side of the town where the water flows.

Let me see if get what you're aiming for.
>>
>>29939086
Smithy needs to be bound to a house so as to have access to it. Think of houses as a type of perquisite for other building types.

Aside from that looks good, though the mills could be closer to the water, but since the river runs NW to SE by the town I'll let it go.

Head of security resume:

- oh god none of this is right how am i real?!

Roles comes later and involves having actual character sheets for everyone that being said due to some wanting ti super simple and others wanting some form of progress we have yet to decide on what to use. That being said if it comes down to the wire I'll draw up something for everyone to use.

However Edicts would be next and those are essentially how you can fine tune your kingdom for just that extra bit of work.

>Did we all "show up" here? Were we scattered about and then gathered and shipped out? If so, how were be brought? Caravan? Train? Airship? Are we FORCED to be here?

The lore behind that is related to each individual pony though the most common methods of travel have been by boat and rarely by airship. The jungle is rather thick and Caravans would need to traverse dangerous badlands to reach here. As for being forced that again is up to you, the player, as to what happened. After all it's hard to turn down an offer you can't refuse~

alright, edicts.

i say everyone should have to have at least minimum fighting training and required to carry some sort of weapon, with training practice at least weekly.

otherwise i propose a system to where those that work a specific job get 60% of their own work in materials as payment(gems if you mine, lumber if you work the mill, ect), with the other 40% being given to the town to do with as a whole. this allows everyone to thrive and make their own decisions with what they want, but does not leave the town as a whole to the whims of the greedy.

work calls, ill be back in a few hours. resume is on the table for when we get to that.
>>
>>29939236
really? 60/40 split leaves a lot of material for people, not that they can do much with it.

Once I get active here, I'll use a character that I've had for a little while now, because I'm too lazy to make a new one and I already have art of him anyway. Besides, how can you say no to that face?

In normal settings he's an appraiser/saleszebra, but in the interim I would assume he'll just fit the role of a general worker and frontierstallion until things get more settled and more specialized opportunities come up.

Not really in a position that I can do a whole lot of writing or RPing just yet, but I'll be around, perhaps.

While that's all well and good I was more meaning general things that affect the whole kingdom, if you want to impose restrictions and the like go ahead, though that will be mostly flavor town text.

The three Edict types are Promotion, Taxaition and Festivals. Promotion can range from propaganda to simple promotion of businesses and the tourist trade. Taxation is all about that money while Festivals keeps your little ponies happy at the end of the day. It's encourage to find some joy in your rough and tumble town after all!~

Very well.

Last update for the night. Due to time constraints as well as having to share this thread with our green posting friends and other assorted activities, next turn will be processed in two weeks time on the 7th of May to allow for others to join and enjoy the town as it is built.

In the meantime here are the stats for you starting kingdom, now all that's left is to name your kingdom, so my little ponies what shall your home be called?

On a related note, if you're interested in seeing how the town looks and want to be more involved on a personal level join in the discord link and take a peek around to see who you're fellow neighbors are! Just remember to not eat the fish and delving into the underground alone is a sure fire way to die!~

>"W-What the hell..."
>The unicorn starts panicking. What the hell is going on?! I'm a unicorn?! Where even am I?! he thinks.
"Look, there's another one!"
>A voice sounds from behind the unicorn. He looks back to see that it came from a member of the Equestrian Royal Guard, who is accompanied by two others.
>Are those... ponies? My Little Ponies?! he thinks. On instinct, he begins to gallop away from the guards.
"Halt, by the order of Princess Celestia!"
>The guards begin to give chase. The unicorn has a hard time running on four legs since he's used to only two.
>The unicorn gallops as fast as he can, but he's no match for the endurance of the Royal Guard, and soon fails at staying ahead of them.
>The guards apprehend the unicorn swiftly. One of them takes out a phial from his saddlebag and lets loose a glowing blue aura from it. The aura centers around the autumn unicorn's horn and appears to dim it's glow.
"Disabling spell, so there'll be no funny business on the way back to Canterlot."
>The guards surround the unicorn on all sides. There's no escape. The unicorn sighs, and goes peacefully with them.

>It had taken a while to get over the shock, especially after realizing you weren't even human anymore. At least you had talons to try pinching yourself with.
>At least the ponies were friendly enough to seem concerned about you, and even try to comfort you during your freakout
>You're a griffon now, apparently. Not quite like one from the show proper, you're a mix of a hawk and... a cougar, if you remember them from the zoo right. Same aquamarine-colored eyes as before... oddly comforting to see the same eyes staring back at you when you look in a mirror.
>You'd barely put together how to walk before a townsperso-townspony came over to help you somewhere better
>An awfully nice stallion, too. Gave you some water, helped you through your shock and meltdown, and even gave you a bit of something to wear- a poncho. It fits surprisingly well, which is nice.
>You tried to calm your nerves and talked with the stallion, explaining what, and who, you are. You're not sure if he fully believes you, but he's nice enough to listen. He says you can take his spare room for a few nights until you feel better.
>Hopefully, you'll wake up back home

>You woke up several hours later, to the sight of a couple Royal Guards. Evidently, you're still in Equestria. They were rounding up 'mysterious appearances', and they'd come to get you. Seeing as they were so polite, and you didn't stand a chance if they weren't, you went quietly. The stallion let you keep the poncho, though, which is nice.
>They take you to a train and usher you on. The rest is a bit of a blur, mostly because you were lost in thought.
>They take you to a port town, and hurry you to the docks. From their, you're put on the boat to go to where the 'mysterious appearances' are being gathered
>There was enough space to get some alone time on the boat, luckily. You needed some, to try and deal with all of this.

"Hey, poncho. Boat's about to dock."
>You're snapped out of your thoughts by one of the guards. Since you never really gave a name, they took to calling you that. Works, you suppose.
>You get up and move for the exit.
>As you step off, you realize you're in a much different place. this looks, and feels, a lot more like somewhere in the Deep South.

>The guard commands the unicorn. He's been interrogating him for the past 10 minutes.
>I gave you my name, you asshole! the unicorn thinks. But before retorting back, he ponders a moment. If this is really Equestria and not some messed up hallucination or dream... then he probably would have never heard a name like mine anyway. All the ponies have names that relate to what their job or talent is. But... I don't have a talent or job... unless you count writing greente--...
"Hey you! Speak up and tell me your name! NOW!!"
>"Uh-uhhh... K-Key Tapper!"
>Oh God dammit. Or is is Celestia dammit now? Key Tapper? Of all the retarded names I could have come up with...
>The guard interrupts Key Tapper's thoughts with another inquiry.
"Finally decided to cooperate? Good. Now then, you and all your other blank friends have been sequestered to another location. You're coming with me again, buster."
>"What?! I... no, I don't even know how I--!"
"Enough! Stallions, take Mr. Tapper to his new home."

>You don't even both to look back to see who said that.
>As far as you knew, this was all a dream and you're in a hospital bed back home.
>You lay back against the curve of the hull of the ship, looking to the mare sitting next to you that had originally spoken
>"What's... going on?" You weren't even really sure what to ask, but those were the first words that came to mind
>The brown-coated, chocolate-maned unicorn mare tilts her head. "What do you mean? How we got in this ship? Well, we both were in a large group rounded up in Canterlot. They held us for a little while, but eventually they told us we'd be going to a town for all the humans."
>She looks around at the other ponies, who are either talking to each other in quiet conversation, listening to her, or asleep.
>You noticed several mares in one corner of the ship, collectively freaking out about how they used to be men on Earth and had woken up to find themselves turned into the little mare
>For a split second, you feel thankful that you didn't lose your dingaling.
>You ponder the mare's answer. So you had woken up in Canterlot, must've passed out again, and are now being shipped to another town.
>You feel a slight bit of worry. This wasn't right, you weren't supposed to be here. You were supposed to be back home.
>Again, you try to calm yourself down.

>Despite all these... changes, I'm still me in the head, and I huff at his insult.
>"Now, hold on," I say, taking a small step forward, and these new things on my back seem to unfurl and flap a bit
>Not my smartest move, for sure
>The guard steps back and lowers his spear, pointing it at me, and I can see him glare through the slot on his helmet
"Keep your wings restrained, gryphon, or we are going to have some trouble!"
>I thought Equestria was supposed to be a nice, happy place, but apparently it's not all lollipops and rainbows
>Considering I've been in this form for all of 10 minutes, it's a bit hard to to control, but I somehow manage to keep them at my side...
>Though, in doing so I took what I was later told is an "aggressive stance" for gryphons
>Racist much?
>What happened next is a bit of a haze, though it ended with the guard chasing me through the streets of the town
>I'm guessing that I... turned tail and fled
>Rushing away, I tried my best not to crash into anyone, but with this new form it was...

>Once again I started to run, but my gaze was upwards at the child starting to fall back down
>Cartoon physics are a real interesting thing for sure
>Both wings unfurled as I jumped up, giving me a bit of extra lift as my talons extended outwards towards the laughing child, taking hold of him and bringing him to my chest
>As soon as he was secure, my wings became as useful as a lead parachute doing nothing to keep me in the air
>All I could do was try to turn around as I fell, holding the foal close
>I learned two things from that experience, first being that being part cat means I won't ALWAYS land on my feet, which in this situation was good
>The other is that it hurts like a BITCH when you land on the stone ground on you back, my full weight bearing down on my new wings

>Oh she would have gotten such a talking to...
>If I could feel anything other than pain in my back, and could get anything else out of my mouth other than a long, low groan of discomfort
>Before I knew it, half a dozen spears were pointed at my face, and a hysteric mother was rushing over to get her child, listing all kinds of what I assume are derogatory terms for gryphons
>I guess I kinda deserve that for the initial act, but come on lady, really?
>Even so, I can't really do much as I'm cuffed, restrained, hauled away to I have no idea where and thrown in a damp cell that was clearly not designed to hold creatures of my size.
>It smelled like... well not death, but bad
>Feces, rotten vegetables, stale air...
>It took that long for the reality of this unreality to hit me and for me to realize just had happened and where I was
>Sure, this had always been a silly idea ever since seeing the show, but now this was... real?
>My friends, my family, everything I had ever known was... gone.
>Tears welled in my eyes as I sniffled and curled into a ball like a kitten
>I thought I would die here in this cell, cold and alone
>In the dark there was only one thing I could see, one other living being around here
>An earthworm slowly inched its way across the floor, the only companion I had in this dark, troublesome time
>Too bad hunger got the better of me
>I don't know how long I'd been here, how long it had been since I'd eaten. There were no windows in here, and it had been more than a day for sure since this whole ordeal began

>What, they've never seen a bird eat a worm before?
>I wandered over to the water and looked down at my reflection again, taking in the new form I'd been forced into
>Tall, broad, powerful
>The cat part seemed to resemble that of a snow leopard, while the birdy bits seemed like they belonged to a black-and-white hawk-eagle
>I liked to look at animals before coming here
>Once again I take a deep breath and splash some water on my face, getting the last bits of mud that remained and making myself look more presentable

>Before all of...this.
>You had been a loner, outsider, some would say a bit of a freak.
>Others, a raging faggot, but that was just fellow /k/tards not understanding the superiority of the bullpup.
>You wake however with a yelp and a shock of pain, as you roll off a roof and land hard on the stone street.
>A mix of confusion and disorientation leads to panic as a voice speaks up.
>”By Celestia, another griffin, alright lets be quick, before he panics.”
>The ringing in your ears from your landing most likely had a lot to do with it, but for some reason you don't question the idea that a griffin is in the area, only that such a creature is a threat to your well being.
“Ah shit, griffin?! Fuck!” You quickly get up, trying to stumble your way to somewhere safer, until you notice the strange, armored little horses trying to surround you with spears.
>”Halt! Dont move! We dont want to hurt you, but if you give us no choice we will do what we must!”
>Your fuzzy mind has no idea how to take in what you see, flipping the fuck out you press yourself against the wall, looking for an opening.
“What the fuck?! Ponies!? Oh fuck did something get slipped into my soda last night!?”
>Thats when you hold up your hands, hoping to get them to back off, only to notice you have no hands, but talons of a similar sort.
>You blink.
>You look at them, then back to your talons.
>”Sir...sir I know this might be confusing, but if you will just calm down and come with us...”
>You stare at him, eyes narrowing, before looking over the rest of yourself.
>You were a slender, catbird....a griffin you supposed, from what they had said.
>slick, grey feathers with nearly black fur on a nicely built frame.
>You narrow your vision back on the guard ponies.
“Yeah fuck whatever this is, im fucking out of here.”
>>
>>29940270
>Your attempt at escaping was met with a swift and painful defeat and capture.
>You were lead most uncomfortably to a meeting hall, full of other ponies, pegasi, unicorns, and of course, griffins.
>There it was figured out, and explained, that you were all....'refugees' from earth.
>Worse, everyone seemed to have different stories on how they got here.
>You grumble, pecking at your handcuffs til one of the guards gives you a small poke.
“Oi, fuck off with that shit! Im not going anywhere, honest!”
>The guard just rolls his eyes, but one eventually does let you out of your constraints, before giving you what you think is a 'im watching you' motion.
>You give one right back, more then happy to spread them misery around.
>You, obviously, were not happy with this.
>You were all for a second chance to not be piece of shit, but you had expected to still be human, and on earth, if you ever even got one.
>You suppose you would try and find a reason to enjoy this though, somehow.

“BUT THATS FUCKING BULLSHIT YOU FUCKING HORNED FREAK!”
>You yell along with many other, but mostly more polite, angry ex-humans.
>Apparently, Equestrias idea of helping you was throwing you to the edge of their un conquered territory with some planks of wood to 'make your own utopia, fit for what you and your kind believe in.'
>It was bullshit, I mean, it sounded like something you would've done anyways, but they basically weren't giving anyone a choice, or even much of a warning.
>”Please, calm down, Equestria is not abandoning you, we just feel this past few days has...shown that you simply are better suited in an environment more under your control...”
>”That doesn't mean the middle of the jungle is where we need to go do that!” Someone yells out.
>You yell in agreement, but after a few hours most have given in, little else to do and for sure no room to complain.
>>
>>29940273
>You sit at a table, talking among about twelve other somewhat like minded individuals.
“Yeah, I agree, fuck that boat nonsense. They are fucking tallying up debt practically for every breath we take. Look at the map here, I say we hitch a ride to the edge, and foot it ourselves!”
>”Really, I mean, im getting annoyed at every bite I take feeling like its being tallied too, but that IS a jungle man, cant be easy to get through.”
“Bah, we got supplies, and we can borrow some weapons from the smithy, place isnt ever locked up, trust me.”
>”Well, now I know where you got that dagger...” one unicorn says with a chuckle.
>you smile, still disturbed that a beak can be so flexible, but growing used to it none the less.
“Trust me guys, when we arrive at the village, aint no one gonna be able to say shit if we throw our weight a bit, having already gotten some experience surviving in the jungle. Besides, we'll need to know how to survive out there either way, fucking Equestrians aren't exactly throwing us a good chunk of bone with this land.”
>”True...” Another griffin says in agreement.
>You pat his back reassuringly.
“Then lets get to work!”

>Getting everything you needed was easy enough, and finding a ride to the south was hardly a chore.
>The few days on the road however, shoved full with other ponies and griffins headed to their new home?
>Terrible, boring and terrible.
>Worse, from you to the earth ponies, everyone was still getting used to their new bodies, meaning twitchy wings, mis-casted magic, and broken shit from earth pony strength.
>You had nearly started a brawl yourself after some stupid fucking pegasus had poked you in the eye with a wing, your fellow adventurers holding you back before you could stick him with your dagger.
>You took the opportunity to spend most of the rest of the trip on top of the wagon, grumbling about this or that.
>Finally though, the road ended, and it was time to continue on foot.
>>
>>29940276
>It took nearly a week to trek through the jungle.
>It should've only taken just over half that time, but boy, did none of you fuckheads know how to read a map.
>Worse, the trip was deadly, monsters and wildlife you never knew could exist leaving you no room to rest, the terrain itself hazardous at every turn.
>You have no idea how many things you swung at, your mind growing fuzzier every day as you got less and less sleep.
>By the time your party arrives at the New Town, only 7 of you are left, and not a single one of you is well off.
>As you come slumping into the town, hardly taking in the construction or stares you were receiving, you grimace as you stretch your injured wing, opening and closing your claw as you rested your arm in a makeshift sling, dragging your hatched across the pavement in the other as you spat on the ground.
“Hey, you, Unicorn. Where the FUCK can we get some sleep?”
>”U-uhh.....Tents are over there...?”
“great, you're a helpful fella.”
>You spend nearly a day sleeping, til some fool wakes you up, telling you theres a meeting for planning the town layout and other important shit.
>>
>>29940279
>You grumpily get up, noticing your group had dispersed.
>You cant blame them, but still feel a bit betrayed.
>They seem to have all decided it was your fault for the way your adventure went, despite you pointing out you had never once forced them to come along.
>You you take your place in the crowd, yawning heavily, you give your input here and there, aggressive but with an attempt at being polite, as you try and make sure no one fucks this shit up horribly.
>You hadn't dragged your ass all the way out here just to see poor city planning make you even more miserable.
>”Hey, whats your name anyways?” Some pegasus speaks up after your last heavily worded suggestion.
“Giff Mc Beakface.” You say sarcastically.
>”Oh, nice to meet ya!” He say, holding out a hoof, with others nearby giving you hellos and shit.
“Wait that was...fuck it, yeas that's my name. Nice to meet you too...” You say, shaking his roof.
>Finally, someone says that thats it for today, and everyone goes off to help with this or that in completing what little still needed to be done.
>You yawn, slinking off to go find some breakfast, then maybe you would see what a one armed griffin could do to help out around here.
and thats it as of right this second. just a quick little thing to give an idea of personality and how he arrived.

Ill have more later, but for now, who wants a hot headed somewhat bloodthristy grumpy griffin as a friend!?

maybe a 60/40 is a bit high, but i still want to shill both these ideas.

maybe more like a 30 to the person, 70 to the town or something? it would allow one to still have their own trading materials for personal projects and help start up an actual economy.

and making sure were ready for the dangers of the jungle is far from a bad idea.

>No batponies, the best ponies of all time

>>29940500
just be a batpony then if you want to, id be very surprised if it was that restrictive in what you can be.
>>
>>29940465
30/70 sounds pretty good. I feel like the number could be adjusted (slightly) in either direction, depending upon the town's condition (ie; bad winter request more, a good summer request less). We can probably work towards divvying up where exactly the funds taken by the town go, as well.

>>29939236
Some fighting experience for everyone wouldn't be a bad idea, either. Enough to wield something more simplistic, such as a spear, a hammer, or an axe (an axe or hammer especially, as it could be repurposed as a tool as well.)
We need to get a good gauge of the local wildlife, too. If we're lucky, a good portion of it'll be the kind that leave us well enough alone provided we leave them well enough alone, too, but we should prepare in case that isn't how it goes.

I dont have a horse, in the game or real life. they're ponies man, not horses, legit difference.

nor would it be my anal circumference expanding in either case. you really aren't very good at this "insult" thing are you?

hint:
a good insult has to actually be directed at something related to the person, at the very least. usually the closer to home it hits, the more it will actually sting. try something related to griffins or actually insulting me directly next time.

So, what would be the first thing we're working towards? Any specific buildings, needs, or general goals for the town? (Aside from survival, of course)
Is there an assumed population comprised of Non-Player characters, as well?
>>
>>29943814
I would love a temple, if only because I feel like rping a backwater town pastor
>>
>>29943976
Although going back and seeing how much it costs for a temple, maybe we ought not do that yet
>>
>>29943976
That'll definitely be a little longer term, but it's a good thing to work towards. For now, it'd be best to work on supplies. PErhaps we could get a tend and chairs, for now?
>>

That's probably for the best. Honestly, I'm surprised this got taken seriously instead of just making an arena and two brothels with our starting BP

if im reading it right, our stats right now are:

Economy- 2
Stability- 5
Loyalty- 3 or 7(i think he made a mistake here and didnt make the 2 a -2, but he would have to confirm this)
BP(how long is a turn in game?)- 8?

now keep in mind we owe 45 BP at the end of the games year(or something like that).

with that and our stats in mind, id say an Alchemist, Barracks(unrest affects economy only?), Herbalist should be our first priority.

Graveyard(stats mostly but i have a feeling were gonna need it either way..),Shop, Tavern, or Tradesman, being secondary.

admittedly id assume were gonna pay Equestria back with gp, as i think only farms generate BP from what i saw, and i think i only put those in secondary, BUT i also dont think our main goal right now should be trying to pay our debts.

it should be to be prepared to chase off the debt collectors when they come a knocking!

>Key Tapper sticks a pin in getting to know any...pony for now. Might as well get used to saying "anypony" unironically from now on, he thinks as he and the crowd make their way to a small building of some sort. From the chatter of the crowd, it sounds like the building is an embassy of Equestria. Maybe everypony will finally get some answers? Ugh... I feel like such a fag for already thinking the word "everypony", Key thinks as he nearly cringes outwardly.

>After waiting in a long, LONG queue, it's finally Key Tapper's turn to talk to one of the ponies at the desk. The pony behind the desk
"Alright, you. Apparently you all came from another world and have names from there as well. So what's your pony name gonna be?"
>"Oh, uh, I actually already thought of one. Key Tapper." he replies. The pony behind the desk gives him a look.
"...Interesting choice. Fine. Considering that you have no cutie mark, you obviously do not know your talent. What are you good at?"
>"I uh... In my world I was... a writer." If you count schmaltzy greentexts on /mlp/, I was anyway.
"A writer? Hmm... Well... I'll be honest, sir. I don't think a writer is going to be useful to a developing town."
>"Wait... so we really are just supposed to build a whole town from the ground up?" Key asks.
"That's what Celestia ordered. Not our decision, sir. Now how would you be able to use your skills to better this town?"
>"I uh... does the town have a message board? You know, something to put the news on so everypony can read it?"
"It does not. Literally almost nothing has been constructed yet."
>"Then that's what I'll do. I'll make a message board for all the town goings on."
"Fantastic, sir. Now I need your hoofprint and signature."
>The pony behind the desk holds up a legal document and places it on the desk in front of them. Key stamps his hoof onto the marked area... but when it comes to signing his name...
>Key picks up the pen in his mouth, and sloppily writes his new name.

"Sir... you realize you're a unicorn right? You don't have to do everything with your mouth."
>"Yeah, I realize that. But I wasn't always one, I don't know how this magic stuff works yet." Key replies. The pony behind the desk, motions another pony over, a unicorn.
"Is there a problem?"
"This guy doesn't know how to use his magic."
"Oh, that's not a problem."
>The unicorn turns to Key Tapper.
"Alright, sir, I'll give you a crash course real quick. Basically, your magic relies on thought. Just imagine that you're floating this pen in front of you and there you go!"
>Key concentrates on the pen. Nothing happens. Then, he has an idea. Key imagines the arms and hands he used to have as a human picking the pen up. His horn glows with a light green aura, and the same aura levitates the pen.
>"Oh my Go-- I mean, Celestia! I did it!" Key exclaims with glee.
"Good job sir! Now please take your saddlebags and leave; we need to move this line along."
>The unicorn indicates a pair of saddlebags sitting on top of a pile of them. Key picks up the saddlebags with his newly learned magic and puts them on his back.
"Those bags have some basic supplies, some food, a few tools, and a small amount of bits. Have a wonderful day and please come by the embassy again for any future concerns."
>Key waves goodbye to the ponies behind the desk before they go on to helping the next pony in line. He walks out of the building and looks around. On the front of the embassy, he spies a poster that wasn't there before.
"WARNING: A zebra was seen attempting to physically and sexually assault a mare in the middle of the town. Watch your flanks."
>"Sexual assault"? Well, these are all nor/mlp/eople with the bodies of ponies. Rape of some form was inevitable.
>Seeing some spare wood nearby, Key has and idea. He takes the poster from the wall and the wood and gets to work.
>>
>>29944698
Seems like a decent setup to me. I think for now we should focus on either the Alchemist or the Herbalist shop, since we can get useful things such as curatives and antivenom (the latter likely being important in an environment such as this). A Barrack would be nice, but I think for now we can rely on a more armed civilian populace until we have other things pinned down well enough to look into making guarding/defense more of a 'profession'.
Tavern and Tradesman could both be good, especially the later, provided we can get something of use from the locale. Before we get a trading post we ought to look into what kind of trading partners aside from Equestria we could feasibly have, and what those partners and Equestria might need specifically.
Debt payback is important too, but we shouldn't rush to get it off the table instantly. It'd be best to find a stable, good payback rate.
>>
>>29944992
I agree with you. Herbalist first so we can heal, then alchemist second to better stop needing the first so often?

as for finding out more about our neighbors... id be willing to round up a posse to explore a bit, but i think the GM would have to be here for some of that(id assume anyways, as id think the place on the amp affect the actual livelihood of the town).

also just noticed that if you look at the document he posted earlier it has the job positions on it. just something to look over.

Do you need to write a greentext baclstory for your character? Do I have to cement mine now? Or can I just throw one together when I see something I wanna join to do? Like if someone starts up a pen and paper thing, or I just randomly decide to jump in the rp
>>
>>29945256
You don't have to! It's just something some of us are doing to characterize and introduce ourselves.
>>
>>29945256
it would probably help to make a backstory but with a starting pop of 250 id think its ok for us not to know everyone personally.

probably encouraged to take a more active role but i personally see no reason you cant just join something that interests you once it pops up.

though obviously a throw away character probably shouldn't try and get a important job position or something.
>>

Phone posting is a bitch, but in terms of base points thing of it like this.
Bp1 equals to 4k gold pieces
This if course can also be taken backwards too so right now our spare 5 BP is about 20k gp.

On another note if your and your friends go out on crazy whacky adventures and wind up finding priceless relics and the link you can choose to invest in the kingdom to help it grow ever more!

On another note I might have to fix the total for loyalty state as that has a plus 4 from the alignment of the kingdom which can be summed up as chaotic good. Of course choosing actions that don't support this can change this alignment of course. Say like forcefully annexing native villages, abandoning towns to the wilds etc or clearing out hexes filled with monsters or providing aide should sisters occur. It's up to you all after all.

On another note you guys should definitely start to think up who is going to be in charge of what soon else the whole kingdom will run riot!

Of course if some of you like that idea that's also up to you, but then again you can't really do much without someone telling others what to do.

>BP is 4,000 gp
>we spent 180,000gp
never let it be said settlements are cheap.

anyways, mind explaining in a minor detail what all of the positions on the DOC are fully?

my guesses:

Ruler- Head of the town, basically overall decision maker and organizer.
Ruler #2- secondary leader, if we get a second settlement and shit.
Councilor- organizer, makes sure everyone knows what needs to be done and does it.
General- runs the army.
Grand Diplomat- makes us friends so we can demand shit from our friends.
High Priest- Praise the Alicorns or to the bond fire with you.
Magister- Head of paperwork, poor bastard, though an important bastard.
Marshal- Either head cop or something to do with making sure businesses dont cheat people and shit.
Royal Assassin- doesn't exist why would we ever have an Assassin were a peaceful town of the people.
Spymaster- Why would we ever need one of these either theres nothing our friends or citizens are up to we might wish to know about.
Treasurer- Filthy banker, Handles the money and materials.
Warden- keeps the buildings up to code and the streets clean, or another cop like job.
>>
>>29945871
>All of those positions
>Not nearly enough players to run them
calm down now lets just start with who's in charge at least
>>
>>29945918
i never said we needed all of them, nor all at once.

i did however wish to know more about them so we know which ones are actually important as of right now.

but yes either way actually choosing who is the ruler probably should come first.
>>
>>29945871
For the most part you got that right. Here are their descriptions as I remember putting that in there. Nevermind I did not.

Alright in order they go like this.
Ruler: Decides on majority of things that we can do for hex map and other assorted things, needs this or else bad shit happens.
Ruler 2: can work with ruler 1 in helping make things not shitty for the most part.
The councilor ensures that the will of the citizenry is represented.
The General commands the kingdom’s armies and is a public hero
The Grand Diplomat oversees international relations.
The high priest guides the kingdom’s religious needs and growth.
The Magister guides a kingdom’s higher learning and magic.
The Marshal helps organize patrols and enforces justice in rural and wilderness regions
The Royal Assassin can serve as a public executioner, a headsman,
or a shadowy assassin
The Spymaster observes the kingdom’s underworld and criminal elements and spies on other kingdoms AKA Batman
The Treasurer organizes tax collection, and manages the treasury.
The Warden leads the kingdom’s defense and city guards.

Of course those are the flavor texts as to what and why we care. The mechnics behind it help boost your kingdom's stat checks so we do well. Since after all the command DC for a kingdom our size is already a whopping 21. On a d20.

When the next update occurs in 1 week and 6 days I will hope folks will have decided on who does what. As we will begin the next turn to see how the kingdom has grown. It sounds ever so fun to see how badly this place will burn.

Also on another note a turn is supposed to last a month but due to RP constraints as well as others not wanting to do super accelerated time that is why we are doing a update of kingdom every two weeks real time to allow folks to breath and do their things.
>>
>>29945972
ah, cool.

well....does anyone actually WANT to be the Ruler?

because i had my sights more on Marshal or Warden, with General as a backup.

but we DO need a ruler and if literally no one else actually wants to...
>>
>>29945972
Change Royal Assassin into Party Planner. Fits the theme better, and would statwise do the same thing out of fun instead of fear.
>>
>>29946034
I've got my eyes on religious leader myself.

So, for the people in town, do you think we could get a list of just what your job is? The system I'm working on is less about "you've been here for X days so you gain a feat/point," and more "you've been here doing X, so your abilities relating to X are improved." This will also require us to keep SIMPLE logs of your daily life, broken down into what you do in the morning, afternoon, and evening. I could use some help getting a google doc where you can list your name, occupation, and what you do during the day. A few sentences is all that would be needed, so you don't have to dive too deeply in. "Morning and afternoon was spent cutting down trees," is enough, and over time those skills would further develop. A lumberjack, for example would, over time gain abilities that increase how much you can carry, your time outdoors would help you detect things like wild animals, and the strengthening would up the amount of damage you do in combat. If you spend the day farming, you'd be less prone to fatigue, or if you adventure a lot you could become more keen to find hidden items, treasure, and so on. You "character sheet" is based upon what the character actually does and gets better the more you do it.

Now, it was brought up that this could put long-time players at an advantage over new ones, and that's a very fair point that I want to work to ensure doesn't happen, or happens as minimally as possible. If anyone has any ideas for how to improve this, I'd love to hear from you and work together to make this a fun, character-driven adventure system for PnP adventures. Feel free to post any ideas you have for job perks and bonuses, as that is what I'm going to be working with first.
>>
>>29946537
>thats about the only thing ive ever been called by a female....thanks for that gut punch.
It just reminded me that I forgot to specify. I spent the better part of the pony rp I was in with everyone else thinking my character was a mare because I forgot to say
>>
>>29946541
For Homily Sermon, mornings and much of the afternoon is spent farming out of necessity for the town (considering there seems to be a lack a erf pones, at least from I see in the discord rp chat) and the rest of the afternoon plus some evening is spent preaching to whoever will listen, maybe some literal soapboxing. As to what bonuses I'd get from preaching? Something social, for certain, but I don't entirely understand the system or if there is a system for what it would give specifically.
>>
>>29946541
We were working on a google sheet 'census', but that could be expanded a line or two to allow for profession. Maybe a bit further for a short summary of daily activities? (or a 'See Note'?)
>>
>Spending the remainder of the day cooped up with some mare blathering on about how “you should rest and let your arm heal” this and “I dont think a wings supposed to bend like that how did you even do that my god” this was really not how Griff had intended to spend his time.
>But some people were persistent, and he didnt have the energy to argue with such.

>The next day he awoke around midday to screams and yells, quickly grabbing his axe and slumping out of the medical tent dragging it along the ground as he awkwardly stumbled his way into the streets.
“What the fucks all this racket?” you said with a yawn, nudging at a pony at the back of a growing crowd.

“Oh right, most of you didnt come here on foot....”

>The pony looked at him, confusion on his face.
>”I...what?”
“Nothing, im glad it looks like someone was up to doing what needed to be done.”
>”Somepony.”
“Fuck you.”

>”Well....could you show us what path you took through the swamp? Some of us want to try some exploring.”
>Griff raised an eyebrow, putting down the lumber he was carrying real quick as he looked at the group.
“Fuck no, I had an axe and some buddies with other weapons and we barely made it out alive. You ...folks, dont even have a butter knife between you.”
>One rolled his eyes, waving his hoof around...to try and convey something of the other.
>”It cant be That dangerous.”
“Fuck if I know if its dangerous or not, but im not setting foot out there with no one to cover my back.”
>”Well, fine, we can find it on our own!”

>And probably sooner then later, if todays colorful events were an indication of the types sent here.
>He sighed as he put down his cargo, looking back at the gate.
>He turned back to the building, then back to the gate.
>He really didnt have any authority to tell anyone what to do.
>Nor was had his past decisions really put him in a position to think himself any wiser.

>As you start to try and unwind, you set up a plan for tomorrow. Anything to keep your mind too busy to think about... troubling things before you doze off.
>Meet up with the other woodcutters and try to work on that system of work you all'd been trying to form. Take that unicorn out to see the land outside the Outpost. Practice running, since you seem to still need work on not stumbling your way through it. Make another attempt at flight, and maybe watch one or two of the Equestrians that are here helping ease everyone in to try and gleam an idea or two off of them.
>You mumble your plan to yourself as you settle into your Equestrian-provided bedroll, and remove your poncho, tossing it aside for now.
>As you begin to start sliding off into sleep, you can't really help yourself from thinking; What's going on, back home? Is time passing? If it isn't, have people noticed? What're they doing about it? Is there a way back? If you do, will you pop back up where you left off, in your bed?
>You frown to yourself and manage to keep a lid on the feelings welling up, before pushing the thoughts away. None of that's going to help you right now. You need to work on survival, for now. Once things are safer, more stable... then you can look for a way back.

not a bad little snipet.

curious, any long term plan/job you have our eye on?
>>
>>29947070
Not particularly. The most I'd be looking at right now might be either more of a foreman position among the woodcutters (still doing physical labor, of course, just directing others), since I have some experience when it comes to directing teams and groups of people.
Failing that, something possibly related to guard/security work. For now, I'd rather focus my efforts on getting supplies for the town, so long term's gonna sit on the backburner for now.
>>
>>29947076
fair enough.

long terms plans are good to have but i understand they are well, still far off.

ill get something written up, but i plan to have Griff start trying to organize scouting parties and defense rules.

all well and good if you want to explore but that does nothing for anyone if you suddenly disappear one day with no one knowing where you went.

Whomever is working on the census page, you're doing a great job. If you or anyone else is willing, I could use someone to help me set up a day planner/tracker, or teach me how to do this kind of stuff with formulas.

“Oh...well fuck me sidways...”
>He recognized them two, from the day before.
>As they frantically crawled their way towards the gate, Griff waved his fellows outward, and the group rushed out and dragged the poor saps into the settlement.
>As they finally got the two bastards in and onto a stretcher, the less fucked up one tried ot grab onto Griff, though being a pony this was not going to happen with a-
>Ok how the fuck was a hoof actually somehow kinda grabbing him what the fucking HELL!?
>”P-please! You gotta go back out there, we...we left them back there, but th-they were still alive, I saw, I know it!”
>Pushing the hoof off, Griff was about to just wave the pony off, send him on his way, til he caught everyone looking at him, as if they expected him to know what, expect him to actually personally, do something.
“God....fucking....Alright you fuckhead, where the fuck did you idiots even go?”
>”We...we went south, we found a shallow crossing to the jungle, but...but something was out there once we crossed...me and Slim Jim were lucky to get away....”
>You sigh, running a hand...claw, down your face as you grunted.
“Alright take the kid away, ill.....figure something out...I guess...”
>You look around frantically, until you spot a old pot sitting out for some reason.
>Well, everyone was starting to wake up and mope about, might aswell ring the morning bell....

Ill continue in the Discord RP, as im hoping to simply let this lead us on a fun little bonding trip possibly, and once complete ill turn all the posts(or someone else can) into a Green writeup to post here.

not sure if things like this are actually meant to have overall effects on the town, but either way that is not my intention and is simply to see who wants to have a little bit of fun.

Okay so after a task that should have been much easier to complete than it was, I have here a small day tracker for the citizens of the town. Simply enter your name in the first row and you can easily keep track of what happened each day! Were you not around to RP or have thread discussion? No problem, see what your fellow townsfolk were up to and log what your character did. Maybe they spent the day working? Maybe they slept all day? Maybe they and another character who wasn't around spend time together! This is very basic, but will help keep things in order and help track growth and progression. No need to go TOO into detail, due to limited space for text. Saying you worked the farm all day and then spent the night with friends works, but we don't need to know that you went to the bathroom twice, stopped for lunch and tripped on a gardening tool (unless that's what y'all want, in which case we can edit it to better fit such activities)!
I know I need some help with formatting, so if anyone would like to assist that would be very much appreciated

>Key Tapper heard the announcement from the griffon. Apparently, some idiots went into the wild forests around the town. A fair amount of the group he was talking with answered the call, but... he didn't feel ready enough to try something like a rescue mission. At least not until he was more comfortable in this new body and with his magic skills.
>Key decided that this is something else to be added to the town bulletin board. After a quick trip back to the embassy for some parchment and pens, he sets to work. Carefully making sure to write with the levitation spell legibly enough for the message to be readable, Key pens this on the parchment:
"ATTENTION EVERYONE: Please stay out of the nearby forests and swampland if you are not capable of defending yourself from the native creatures."

"Welcome back, sir! Did you need something?"
>"Yes. I would like to place an order for something outside of here. Is that allowed?" Key asks.
"Well... sure. But that'll cost ya. I suppose we've given you your sanctioned amount of bits already, so what would you like to order?"
>"A typewriter and some stationary, please."
"Alright then..."
>The desk pony checks some documents.
"That will be 45 bits, Mr. Tapper."
>"45?! That's almost all of them!" Key exclaims incredulously.
"You're shipping a machine from Canterlot, sir, it's not going to be cheap. What's it going to be?"
>Key thinks for a moment on whether it's worth the price... Then decides. He places the amount of bits on the counter.
>"When will it be here?"
"Well, sir, that depends on how fast Pony Express can get out here. If I had to guess... maybe a few days."
>"OK, put me down for it then."
"Sure thing, sir. You have a good one now."
>The desk pony smiles before taking Key's bits and turning back to their work.
>Key walks out of the embassy, excited at the prospects a typewriter could bring. My new name would actually make sense at least, he thinks. His eyes turn to out of the town, into the swampland where the rescue operation is taking place.

>One: What in the goddamn is this? If this is some sort of dream, I was ready to wake up hours ago.
>Two: Do they want us dead? Seriously, we're being sent to a settlement on the border of 'The Forbidden Jungle' It can stay forbidden for all the shits I give, I'm not going in there.
>Three: Now what? I've taken to asking around and seeing what others can make of this fine mess we've found ourselves in and generally getting to know some of them. Most seem an amicable bunch but there's been more than a few who I'd rather knock their bloody blocks off, the intolerable tossers.
>Speaking of getting the body moving; I've never felt so young again in my life, all stumbling about and making a right prat of myself. Blame a guy who's used to walking on two legs for most of his life and finds himself trotting about.
>I had these fancy looking horses in resplendent armor file us up, catalogue us, ask our names and what have you. I told them my name but he just shook his head and asked for my new name. The nerve!
>It actually brought to mind what exactly I'll be doing here. No doubt there'll be shortage of manual labour and administration needed, but I reckon I can take a few years of a cash-in-hand job down by the parish church and put it to use here, so I went with Southstone after a section of the cemetary I helped upkeep.
>He took that as me being a Gravekeeper and I had no qualms with it. I'm not sure what God, if any, these ponies believe in or if they have an afterlife but the dead deserve courtesy and respect no matter where civilisation goes. This early on, the town is undergoing a lot of development, so I'm gonna make myself and what I do known to them, stake out a piece of land nearer the outskirts and see about getting a nice little cabin built nearby. God willing, the land won't need to be expanded so soon.

Okay, so here we have a "new" system for PnP adventures that I suggest we use while in the early days of our town. The credit for this core system goes to an old horsefucker that I knew as "Lucyne," and all credit for this goes to them. Lucyne's hard work should lay the foundation for our simple, fun times, and I hope we as a community can build off of this for fun times together in the future.

ALRIGHT MOTHERFUCKERS, ITS TIME FOR A RECAP OF WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DONT KNOW WHAT THE FUCK YOUR GETTING YOURSELF INTO.

>Be just trying to work.
>Some fools heard you had come here via foot, want your help to foolishly run around the jungle.
>Griffs not dumb enough to do that again ,tells them not to be idiots either.
>They decide to be idiot, the six of them running off angry he wont help, but still going out into the jungle.
>Griff decides its not his job to stop idiots.

>Next day, Griff looking forward to a relaxing day of work.
>Talking with the other early birds.
>suddenly two ponies come in.
>Fuck its the idiots from before, and one looks almost dead.
>Griffs a hardass but not so hard as to ignore injured ponies.
>Gets them help, but before then they say their four other friends are probably maybe still alive.
>Griff decides he cant leave ponies to die in the jungle, no matter how dumb they are.
>Gives a rousing speech in order to get volunteers.
>No one listens but a handful of people.
>One doesn't even want to help at first but just doesn't want them sloshing around 'her' part of the swamp.

>Ends up with a party of himself, a somewhat hardened griffin with ok gear but recovering from injuries.
> a Catholic God loving Earth pony farmer. (Homily)
>An insane mare who loves scalping people and not bathing. (Curiosity)
>A Lumberjack Griffin. (Peyote)
>A reclusive Pegasus with a thing for insane chick. (StrayShot)
>And a Medical Pony (Bleeding Heart/Ruby)

>A team to rescue anyone right?

>So they set out bonding or some shit as they reach the river.
>Of course ponies see something watching them on the other side, but being the insanely smart people we are, its over there so its not dangerous, thus the mission continues.
>We come to where we think the Ponies crossed the second river to get to the jungle.
>>
>>29951408
>Only it just proves how terrible these ponies were trying to find are at thinking, because its only slightly better then the rushing water of the rest of the river.
>So, we decide the best course is, to cross!
>If a bunch of idiots can do it, we can too!
>Then two of us almost dont make it across and two more get washed far down stream.
>Luckily, we only waste precious time we have little of regrouping!

>Finally, regrouped and ready to go, we find signs of a struggle leading to a clearing in the jungle.
>Carefully, we approach it.
>And get a taste of hell.
>We THINK its only two mutilated and eviscerated ponies, but were not QUITE sure.
>The entire place looks like something ripped the ponies apart for fun and threw the chunks everywhere.
>Like reasonable gent,s we decide the best course of action it so turn tail and get the fuck back to town.
>But because fate does not use lube, we hear a scream, coming from a bit deeper in the jungle, meaning somepony might still be alive.
>Being a self defeatist fuck Griff decides this is all kinda his fault, so he tries to get everyone else to go home so he can probably die trying to save the pony out there.
>Being good friends with no brain cells, the group refuses, and so they march forward together to rescue the other idiots.
>So we sneak into the jungle all stealthy like.
>And because god does not exist, we come across a scene similar to what we just saw, but like 100x bigger and worse.
>Worse, we see what can only be described as a hellspawn tearing a pony it has tied up to shred, while a unicorn cries on another wooden beam a bit off.
>Now, this is one ugly hellspawn. Horse legs centaur style, snakes for arms, a giant pimple with a grin for a head with no eyes.
>not fun to look at.
>Naturally, being brave warriors, be argue over a plan until its almost too late to save the Unicorn mare.
>Deciding our only hope was to cut off its legs and run for it, we utterly fail at doing that.
>>
>>29951462
>Thankfully luck and an good try and castrating the thing gets the unicorn free and none of us dead.
>Instead, Curiosity gets snake whipped into a tree and is knocked the fuck out, and Ruby manages to light the jungle on fire.
>Behind us.
>The direction we need to flee.
>We get the fuck out of there, a good roll resulting in the things front legs no long being attached, and run for the river.
>Yes we Picked up the knocked out pony.
>AS we argue over whether or not to ride the rivers stream down a ways, we hear the thing following us, its lack of front legs apparently only hindering it so much.
>Finally, we all agree riding the current towards town and away from the demon is a good thing.
>somehow this all works out and no one gets lost of drowned.
>Worse though, its nighttime now and we have no idea where we are.
>Because were tired and cold and just want sleep.
>Eventually we knock heads together enough to both remember how obvious the route home is, and that like 3 of us can fly.
>Finding our way back home, Griff notices a PLOT DEVICE.
>The Unicorn is not acting like someone who just saw ponies get ripped to shreds and then ran for her life.
>She isnt acting like a pony at all.
>So like any tired, grumpy, scared man would, Griff blocks the gate to town and threatens everyone with physical violence to keep them fro going inside, because he thinks the unicorn is fucked up and something terrible.
>Deciding to attack it, he yells.
>And that and all the other noise gets the gate guards up and about, who open the gate.
>This halts his attack as he tries to tell the Guards not to be fucking morons.
>And then the unicorn explodes int a tentacle monster that melts you mind.
>Griff starts getting tentacle choked, the things trying to pry the gate open, and everyone just got given a massive migraine fro m the thing.
>Not fun.
>>
>>29951524
>but despite that, and some of the hardest rolls in the game, everyone rolls fucking amazing, and the thing is lit on fire, used like a rag doll as we kick its ass.
>Except StrayShot.
>By one number he rolls a mixed result, freeing Griff but getting grabbed and dragged towards the monster.
>Except now the things like as hot as a furnace so its even worse.
>Griff tries to help but getting choked out takes alot out of someone.
>Thankfully, despite giving them a risky, very hard roll to save him, they bloody get it with the first character, with Stray even cutting himself free before Ruby summer salt saves him.
>The thing then explodes, leaving chunks of burning abomination to put out.
>Griff tries to act like a self defeating faggot and blame everything on himself but Homily and Stray tell him to fuck off with that nonsense so he does.
>So everyone decides to fuck it more or less and go get some sleep.
>But the damage infront of the gate of the burning chunks of flesh, the day ponies can deal with that shit.
>And that was how 6 idiots saved no one and almost got the entire settlement destroyed, due to some even bigger idiots deciding to wander out unprepared.

But then what is the rest of the town supposed to do for supplies? Lumber to build? Food to feed the population? Now, if we could set up a system where you as an individual receive extra rations or supplies for your own hard work, but what are the people who have a job that doesn't involve resource gathering going to do for food, shelter, or comfort items? If you construct the buildings of the town you shouldn't starve because you can't spend all day farming or fishing.

we don't really have anything in the way of currency, do we?
if not, then we'll have to have some sort of barter system for people to deal in their personal items that they aquire (for now). As for the whole 60 personal/40 collective, why don't we notch that down to 75 personal/25 collective? We'll still have resources to stockpile so that everyone can be provided for, while people can keep a considerable amount of the items that they earn.

What is our money backed by? What is it worth? How much do things cost? This should be what we do down the line, but for the moment right now a more collective based system of supplies would work better, especially when there are going to be new arrivals who need help getting things set up.

In a transitional economy the value of doctors and other public servants will be obviously apparent; they'll be funded by donations and voluntary payments (in the form of barter-valuable goods). People whose skills don't server the immediate needs on the colony (artists, writers, politicians) need either starve or take on more labor intensive but skill laking jobs in order to both preserve their own selves AND the colony,

Obviously those who work more for cultural benefits will HAVE to do more productive work. Even if you're an actor or a computer programer, that doesn't mean you can't swing a hammer, plant our tiny seeds, or help move materials from one location to another. If you work, you eat and will be taken care of. If you don't, you're on your own for food and shelter. That's not to say those who have other skills won't be able to use them (assuming what they make/provide is in high demand), but luxury takes a back seat to survival.

Obviously we have a bit more of a population, but I'm also not suggesting that it be what we live on forever. But, once we have a stable home, buildings, people to fill essential roles, a sustainable food supply and the like we can move to a more monetary based economy. So, here's a question to ponder. What is going to be our stance on having multiple characters? If we're not limited to /our/ personal backstory, it's not out of the realm of possibility to use someone else, right?

>An unconscious griffon lies in a hospital bed at the embassy. His pulse barely registered on the heart monitor.
>On the clip board at the foot of his bed read a single word: "Michael".
>Michael's chest burns from the lack of oxygen and he awakes with a gasp.
>His neck and back scream in phantom pain, as if someone were twisting a knife in him.
>His distressed flailing catches the attention of the nurse staff.
>Unused to his form, he launches himself off the bed with his wings, only adding to his hysteria.
>After several large ponies manage to hold him down, he gets a sense of where he is.

Right fellows here is some additional information if you want to get involved.

The day planner that Same error has started will be used for your job roles where you earn skills, bits and other assorted reward's! The format will follow persona for the most part by filling out what you generally do in a simple format like so.
Morning
Afternoon
Evening
Once that is done for each day you will find rewards in the note section, make sure to pay attention to what all the notesmell say as those will show up on your character sheet as it were.

On another note there was talking of what to bus with some hard earned bits. With that in mind the Smithy will be allowing you to purchase weapons and arms. The issue I'd like to offer to you is this, shall the smithy slowly level up in skill based on a town interface where the smithy slowly unlocks the catalogue of equipment or be full access with a master smith that the equestrians have provided?

And finally this is a sign up for a quest I plan to run in discord. Make sure to bring your wooden pipes and Stockholm hats because we have a murder mystery to solve!

Will start in 2 hours from this post.
Will take 5 maybe more if convinced

THE FOLLOWING IS AN EXCEPT FROM STRAY SHOT'S VISIT TO THE EMBASSY REGARDING THE QUESTION OF GOING BACK TO EARTH. SOME MILD PHYSICS LORE IS EXPLORED.

>The physicist was a deep-blue coated unicorn stallion with coke-bottle-thick rimmed glasses. He had an orange afro that nearly reached the roof of the tent, and the only clothing the scholarly stallion was wearing was a polka dot yellow bow-tie.

>Stray Shot did his best to stifle a smirk

>Cury looked with disdain how the doctor discarded the dirty bandages. The song he hummed gave her a reason to talk, "Doctor do you like operas? Do you know what are those?" She asked with feigned interest.

>"Yes, yes, you have summoned me?" the professor says with pursed lips to everyone in the room, taking the seat at the desk of the secretary, much to her dismay

>Stray Shot couldn't help but notice that the blue unicorn vaguely resembled an exaggerated Albert Einstein, but he pushes the thought out of his mind. The stranger professor gazes around the room with his bug-eye glasses, his eyes fixating on @Curiosity momentarily before grimacing at the sight of the injured, soiled mare and turning his attention to the secreatary and Stray Shot.

>"Who summoned Doctor Cosmo?" He asks in a louder, more demanding voice.

>"I did," Stray Shot says as he stands up from leaning against the tent, taking a couple of steps towards the desk Cosmo sat at

>Meanwhile, the medic was obviously doing his best to hide his disdain for the eccentric Professor, grinding his teeth with exaggerated focus on Cury's question. "Hm? Oh, that was from the Canterlot Symphony Orchestra. We have lots of operas in Canterlot," he tells Curiosity under his breath before looking at her with genuine interest. "I didn't know humans were familiar with operas..." he muses to himself as he wraps Cury in fresh, clean bandages

(PART 1)
>>
>>29957586
I vote for upgrading smithy ourselves
>>
>>29957611
>Stray Shot leans his hooves on the desk, sitting on his haunches as he regards Dr. Cosmo. "Listen, I don't want to take up much of your time, I just want to know if there's a way to get back to Earth. Is this something anyone's even looking into?" He asks

>Dr. Cosmo looks Stray Shot up and down, as if evaluating the pegasus. It almost sounds like he scoffs before addressing Stray. "And just who are you? That's not the right question to even be asking, young one," he admonishes like a haughty professor

>Oh great, he really is a college professor...' Stray Shot thinks to himself as he sighs. "Stray Shot. I'm a human, from Earth. And I'm ready to get back now. I'm not the only one, you know."

>Dr. Cosmo's tail wags behind him as he leans forward on the desk with an amused smile, his huge afro looking like it was about to roll off the rop of his head. "Like I said, Stray Shot, that's not the right question to be asking, though it's an interesting one," the professor explained, becoming visibly excited at the opportunity to lecture a captive audience on his recent work.

>Stray Shot silently sits back in the chair opposite the front desk, gesturing with his hooves for the PhD Pony to keep going
Doctor Cosmos clears his throat, closing his eyes as he begins to go on in a monotone, lecturing voice like that of a profressor with an hour and fifty minutes of class time. "The correct question to be asking is, 'How did you get here?' You see, it will be impossible for anypony to discover or invent some way of travel between this world and the one you hail from until we discover and understand exactly what caused such a massive number of humans from another dimension to, seemingly inexplicably, be transformed into a being of our world and transferred to random locations in Equestria." The professor stops to take a sip of tea that the secretary had previously been sipping on, causing the secretary mare to grumble and go off to make another pot of tea.
(PART 2
>>
>>29957633
>Stray Shot's curious expression quickly falls to one of dissapointment, and then suspicion. Did this scholar have some reason to propagate falsehoods about the humans' situation? Then again, the only thing he really told him was that it involved vast distances of space and time, which was probably safe to say from any standpoint.

>Stray Shot frowns at the professor, gesturing with his hooves. "There's got to be a way for me to find a way back though, right? I mean, if it happened once, can't it happen again in reverse?" Stray is on the edge of his seat by the end up his last question. "I have at least one member of my family I'd like to see again!"

>Dr. Cosmos regards the former-human with a certain academic detachment, raising an eyebrow. "You're talking about cheating time and space, human. I've heard your people are resourceful, but I doubt that much so,"

>Stray Shot scowls at Dr. Cosmo. He felt tingling in the tips of his hooves, and he took a couple of deep breaths to try to help not to freak out about the fact that he was stranded in another dimension. "Alright," he says impatiently, clopping his hooves on the desk before standing up on his hooves. "Thanks for explaining, doctor," he forces himself to say, even though he felt like punching him. Stray had the self awareness to see that it was the professor's answer that upset him, and that compounded with the scholar's obnoxiousness made him want to hurt him.

>Stray Shot briskly makes his way over to Cury, who had just had her bandages exchanged for fresh ones. He hurriedly helps the mare onto his back as Cury snatches the dirty bandages from the trash can, much to the medic's bewilderment. Stray and Cury quickly exit the Embassy without much more word, the stallion eager to get away.

>Key Tapper decided to go out and earn more money today. Since spending nearly all his bits ordering that typewrite made him nearly broke.
>After a brief bit of training from some of the ponies who work there, Key discovered he had a bit of a talent for milling grain.
>Soon, he was grinding up grains with the best of them. He was so good in fact, that he lost track of time and worked nearly the whole day.
>When it turned dark, Key realized that he'd done nothing but work at the mill all day. Not a bad way to spend the day he supposed since he'd get paid, but he didn't get to see any of the ponies or griffons he'd met in town before.
>Key decides to pay the rest of the town a visit before going to turn in for the night.
>As he walks into the town, he notices a crowd of ponies talking around his bulletin board. >What are they looking at, I didn't post anything new today, he wonders.
>As he walks through the crowd to look at the board, he spies an announcement there. That he didn't put there.

>Seems you're a little behind on some of your entries. You would've put something in yesterday, but... you needed some time to relax.
>You and the other lumberjacks get to work pretty early on Day 3, and make a good bit of progress
>Everyone's more or less used to horse bodies now, so no more stumbling. You and the others get things down pretty well, and you end up dipping out a little after lunch. You agreed to help Griff out with some kind of rescue earlier that morning, anyways.
>You try flying a little on the way over, but none of it goes well. You think you're doing a little better than before, but you're still eating dirt, so you've got a ways to go.
>You ask around at the embassy, and one of the guards is nice enough to give you some armor they had handy. It's old stuff- just some cloth and leather- but bad armor's better than no armor, definitely. You slip into it, grab your axe, and head to meet up with the others.
>The group seems pretty decent. A unicorn mare, a pegasus stallion (Stray Shot, you think?), Griff, and an Earth Pony (Homily?). Griff seemed decently optimistic about the group, so things felt alright.
>While she startled the hell out of you when she popped up into the group from the wilderness, Curiosity was nice to have along, too. You've never seen her in town before, so she must have decided to live outside the Outpost.
>Anyways, you and the rest of the group got moving towards where the group of ponies you're trying to rescue was last seen. After an... embarrassingly bad time getting across the river for almost all involved, you followed the path further into the jungle.
>That's where you found the first two... well, it was probably two. It was difficult to tell, with the bodies being as eviscerated as they were. It didn't even look like they were hunted to be eaten, just for enjoyment.
(1/2)
>>
>>29960210
>While sickened, the whole group agreed to press on after hearing the cries of a survivor. You hurried along after the racket to find yet another dead pony, and a single survivor restrained by the... thing, holding it.
>The 'thing' in question was an abomination, to put it simply. Indescribably horrific and truly monstrous, it was no doubt the source of all the deaths. Luckily, as scary as it looked, it wasn't invincible. You and Griff hacked its hindlegs to uselessness, and
Stray Shot scorched the monster. Curiosity was knocked out cold, but one of the group was able to pick her up.
>With the survivor saved, the whole party decided to take the better sounding option and leave, before the fire made that too difficult. Unsure if the monster was well enough to follow, the party elected to try travelling down the river.
>The river wasn't too rough or fast, so things went alright. Everyone was (mostly) fine, including the rescued mare. As you all drew closer to town, Griff grew suspicious of the survivor. His suspicions were confirmed when she transformed into a hideous mass of flesh, and attempted to force herself in the front gate.
>It... ate? Stray Shot, but you and the others managed to free him, killing the aberration in the process. Good riddance, in your opinion.
>Having been thoroughly terrified by the day's events, you elected to try and sleep it off for a couple hours. It helped a little bit, but not too much.
>You managed to get yourself up and about for a little later, though. You had another chat with Key Tapper, Stray Shot, and Sameer. Apparently, the big bird's looking into medical work. Key Tapper's a little unsure of what he can do, but you try to reassure him that he'll find something. Everyone will, eventually.
>With all the... action yesterday, and the exhaustion today, you never were able to take that Northern Lights guy to look around outside town. Tomorrow, maybe.

How rules-heavy are you playing it? I've GM'd for D&D 3.5 and 5th editions, but I tend to bend the rules a huge amount and place story/fun over meticulously doing things by the book.
>>
>>29960252
i ran a simple game where the only mechanics was a dice roll based off what i thought the difficulty of the situation was. no stats, though i did take into account what the players characters were good at and had on them.

basically like....

hit the monsters head:
roll D12, 6+ pass, 8+ success, 3- Crit Fail
pass obviously being you still hit the monster but miss the head, so a partial success.

personally would prefer to keep using such a thing, with only minor "stats" simply saying how much experience the character has in say, combat, to give me an indicator of how i should make the dice roll.

however i THINK someone said were """supposed""" to use this:

https://pastebin.com/QWnm141B

but i dont think its actually necessary.

>As Stray Shot and Coca Breeze disembark the ship that had carried them from Baltimare, the mare's attention is immediately grabbed by the Equestrian Guard with the megaphone telling everyone to go fill out the census in the Embassy.
>"Alright, that old Army geezer said to head to the Embassy to check in. Lessgo!" The tall, slender unicorn mare squeaked out excitedly.
>You roll your eyes. "Great, more paperwork. I didn't get a head-penis like you. Using a pencil ain't comin' to me yet."
>She stands herself up from her haunches, offering you a hoof as she glares at you, "That's not an excuse, mister!" though quickly her expression softens, "Look, I'll fill out the forms for you if you can't, okay?"
>You consider it for a moment. You could just... not 'check in'. In fact, from what you could tell there was nothing keeping you from leaving the town on hoof, though you quickly realize that surviving in the deep wilderness this time of year in a new small and unfamiliar body was probably a death wish.
>After a few moments you nod to Coca.
>"Alright Coca, lead the way."

Part 1
>>
>>29961292
>Coca trots a few paces from the docks and glances back at you with a toothy grin. "So you like being led. What a beta-stallion!" She snarks at you with a mischievous giggle and begins making way for the Embassy across the dirt road from the makeshift docks.
>You trot off the docks and begin following Coca, snickering. "Heh, well at least I'm still male!" You counter, "Besides... I'm not a stallion, I'm a man. A human," you continue to insist.
>"Gah, you're so stubborn!" Coca calls back to you. You don't bother responding, mostly because of how loud the crowded port was.
>It made sense, with the ship offloading right here and the frequent traffic of both ponies and Griffons on hoof/claw, respectively.
>Still following Coca, you glance back at the ship being unloaded and ponder...
>How easy would it be to stow-away on one?
>This thought gave way to other questions, such as:
>How often do the ships arrive?
>How long do they stay?
>When do they leave?
>Could goods and contraband be smuggled to this town via ship?
>You make a mental note to come do some port snooping on your own later, when you get some time by yourself to slip away unnoticed.
>For now though, you had to 'check in', whatever that meant.
>As you both cross the street you approach a building centered in the middle of the street with a large painted blue sign with big white letters that read "Equestrian Embassy," with a flagpole stretching high into the sky with a giant Equestrian flag waving in the breeze.
>Without thinking, you trot ahead and open the door, holding it open for Coca.
>She raises an eyebrow at you. "I'm a strong independent mare that don't need no stallion!" she says in a sarcastic tone, flicking your muzzle with the tip of her tail as she passes you, entering the building
>You make another mental note to not open doors for women... er, mares.
>You curse your parents internally for raising you with manners, but then frown once you realize you may never see them again.
>>
>>29961313
>Shaking it off, you enter and find yourself at the back of a very long line of ponies waiting to 'check in'
>You and Coca wait in line for almost an hour before finally making it to the front desk.
>There was a stallion Royal Guard behind the right side of the desk, and a unicorn mare behind the left side.
>It looked like the mare was the one actually filling out the information while the Guard asked the questions
>Coca, being in front of you, approached the ladies first.
>"State your name, date of birth, and human profession." The guard says to Coca in a flat, uninterested tone as the mare scribe readies her pen.
>The brown mare blinks her oversized eyes at the guard, tilting her head slightly. "My name is Coca Breeze. I was born April 20th, 1994. My profession was u-um..." She scratches the back of her head, looking around the room. "I-it's hard to remember my human life... My birthday is one of the few things I still do..." she says in a shy tone.
>Some random pony farther back in the line shouts "FOUR-TWENTY-BLAZE-IT, FAGGOT!"
>Coca Breeze blushes and smiles slightly in embarrassment. "That's probably why I remember it, h-heh," she quietly squeaks towards you and the two officials nervously, "Getting lit on my birthday was always memorable!"
>You facehoof, almost wishing you weren't associated with her, though you couldn't help but chuckle.
>The scribe-mare scribbles down the information before piping up, "Don't feel too bad about forgetting your human memories!" The hot-pink unicorn exclaims, "The scientists say a little less than half of all human-turned-ponies lose some or all memories of their human past!" The scribe finishes, grinning at Coca with a wide smile.
>Her tone was just a little too cheerful for your taste, but you stay silent in line behind Coca.
>The Guard glares at the scribe mare next to her before looking down to Coca with a half-forced smile.
>>
>>29961319
>"They theorize it's a coping mechanism. They're figuring it out as we speak," the guard explains in a more soothing, less emotionless tone.
>Still a curt, vague answer, you judged. You were just glad you weren't one of the ones that lost their memories.
>Coca Breeze is entered into the census, and before you know it, she's grabbing you by the hoof and bringing you up to the table.
>"My friend needs to be registered too!" Coca says happily, smiling as she watches you about to get questioned.
>Your eye winces and you poke your head over the desk, giving the woman and scribe a fake smile.
>Your tail was between your legs
>The hair on the back of your neck was standing on end
>Your ears instinctively folded back, and you for some reason you suddenly felt very anxious about signing yourself into this
>"State your name, date of birth, and human profession."
>You look to Coca Breeze who smiles and nods at you to go on an answer.
>"My name is Walker," You state flatly
>The pink scribe-mare behind the desk suddenly bursts into laughter
>The sudden loud outburst of laughter makes you flinch.
>"No, silly, not that *old* name! She means your name *now*, as a pony!"
>You tilt your head, making a big fuzzy ear flop over as you raise an eyebrow at the scribe.
>"I... don't have another name. Can't we just use that one?"
>Both the Guard and unicorn shake their heads, with the woman explaining, "Policy doesn't allow us to take your human name. It's all in the eyes of the bean counters in Canterlot. If you're a pony, you will not be classified in their database correctly unless you adopt a separate name more befitting of an equine society."
>"That sounds stupid. I don't care what they think." You scoff.
>The Guard rolls his eyes. "This must be another one of those Americans..." he mutters under his breath
>>

>For a moment, you consider hitting back with a snarky remark, but decide against it as the scribe's high pitched, filly-like voice pierced your ears again.
>"Well, go on mister, pick a name!" She commands, almost bouncing with excitement.
>You shift your weight on your hooves uncomfortably, glancing nervously around the room. "I don't want to pick a new name..."
>"Aw come on, it's part of the fun! Pick a name!" She insists
>You frown and rear your head back slightly. "I really rather wouldn't."
>"Fine!" She yells, making your ears perk straight up
>For a few seconds, she appears pissed off, but you soon realize she's in thought.
>"Weeeeellllll, you *do* look like a scared lil' kid about ready to ricochet out of here at the first sign of trouble!" the mare says with a giggle
>"SooOOOoooOOO~, to me you look like a..." She studies you for a few moments before exclaiming, "Stray Shot!"
>Coca Breeze tries to hide her giggles behind a hoof, but a quick glance over to her makes it obvious she's trying not to laugh
>The mare sitting at the table chuckles, reaching a hoof down and patting you on the head between the ears.
>Not gonna lie, it felt pretty nice to feel petting right there, but you can't help but blush as they all poke fun at your expense.
>What kind of name was Stray Shot? Did you really look like that much of a fickle scaredy cat?
>Ignoring your blush, you shake your head and get your thoughts back on track. You had an objective. "Okay, Stray Shot it is," you state hastily, placing your forehooves on the desk and looking to the scribe. "And er... date of birth July twelfth, 1992. As far as what I was good at... I could fly and do some minor gunsmithin', but I don't think we have guns here."
>"I didn't know humans could fly! Great!" The scribe exclaims happily once again as she scribbles in her oversized tome. "We need more package mules!"
>>
>>29961331
>The pink mare scribe giggles again. "Aw, you're gonna fit in juuuust fine here, Shotty!"
>You internally cringe at being called 'Shotty'
>"Fit in," you respond, smiling slyly at the sribe, "More like getting ripped from my home and gettin' pounded in like a square peg in a round hole."
>You laugh. For some reason you frequently dealt with difficult situations by injecting humor.
>No once else, you notice, laughs. Even the bouncy scribe's smile was temporarily a dissapointed frown.
>You let the smile fall from your face, quietly taking a small step back. "I guess this isn't the time or place for my quips..." You mutter
>Next to you, Coca Breeze breaks the awkward silence. "Okay! So what now?" She asks impatiently to the two officials at the desk
>"You will both be contacted by town officials within the next couple of days and given instructions where to report for work." the scribe explains
>You tilt your head. "Work? Do we get paid?"
>You had no interest in working without monetary compensation.
>You look up at the mare, praying she didn't say you were going to be paid in hugs or some shit
>She giggles. "Of course you'll get paid, silly! In addition to the Equestrian Bit, town workers will also receive ration cards at the end of the week to redeem food from the Stockpile!"
>Your ears perk up. "Wait, there's a Stockpile?"
>The mare nods rapidly. "Yeah! The Royals were nice enough to give us a whooooole warehouse full of non-perishable foods and goods to last the whole coming winter!"
>>
>>29961338
>Your eyes widen slightly in interest. "Really now? Is it just food? No other valuables?" You ask as innocently as possible.
>You feel guilty just for asking, but you can't resist feeling out the options you have to make ends meet, even less-than-legal ones
>The scribe looks at you in confusion for a moment before resuming her goofy but admittedly cute smile
>"Well sure, Shotty! I dunno what, but there's gotta be some reason they keep it so locked down!"
>You shrug at the scribe. "Oh, well alright" you say, letting yourself sound preoccupied and disinterested.
>This Stockpile is something you put on your mental list to check out as well when you could slip away unnoticed
>Concluding your business in this office, you take the standard issue saddlebags containing a knife, flint & steel, and rope before leaving.
---
>After finishing your business with the census pony and human officials, you and Coca Breeze trot back out into town square
>You pull the knife you were just given out of it's sheath, inspecting the Equestrian blade. It looked oddly similar to the Ka-Bar combat knife from Earth, Stray noted to himself.

>Coca suddenly stops in the middle of the dirt road, causing you to crash into the back of her from not looking
>Dropping the map, you barely manage not to crash on top of her, but it was too late to keep from head-butting her, well, butt.
>"Eep!" Coca squeaks as she is pushed face-first into the ground, her forelegs buckling under her
>As you realize what happened, your eyes widen and your cheeks flush red under your fur as you rush to Coca's side and offers a hoof.
>"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I-It was an accident!" You stammer out in embarrassment
>Coca looks up at you, initially with an angry expression, but takes your hoof and stands herself back up
>"Jesus Christ, dude. I know we're mostly from /mlp/ here, but are you *already* trying to get some mare flank?"
>You shake your head briskly in denial, making your ears flop around
>"N-not at all! I was looking at my map!" You were clearly failing the redface test
>Coca Breeze stares at you sternly for several tense moments before bursting into laughter
>Though she would never admit it aloud, in her own mind, she couldn't deny the stallion's cuteness when blushing and flustered
>"Relax, I'm just fucking with you, /Shotty/~" Coca says with an evil smile, putting special emphasis on the word you feared was going to become your new nickname
>Reaching her hoof up she ruffles your mane with a smirk and half-lidded gaze, "If you were a unicorn, that might've been much more exciting."

>You think about it for a moment and laugh heartily, and without realizing it you subconsciously wag your tail back-and-forth behind you
>Coca Breeze's smile fades and she stares at you with a raised eyebrow, looking you up and down. "Huh... That's the first time you've laughed without it being fake." She states matter-of-factly, smiling cheekily at you
>Buzzkill
>At that, your laughter ceases and so does your smile
>Thanks Coca
>Coca frowns, the mare feeling a vague sense of pity for some unknown reason

>It was the dream again
>For the third night in a tow
>It’s the same scene as what really happened
>Stray Shot was standing on the docks, over the bloodied, mangled body of Zeeke the zebra
>Coca’s sobs from being raped were soon interrupted by her screams of horror as Stray Shot repeatedly stabbed the rapist in the neck and back while pulling him off Coca, with the zebra quickly rolling over dead
>Just as the part came where Coca Breeze ran away from him in horror, the dream ends, and Stray Shot wakes up in a cold sweat, panting
>The Pegasus whimpers to himself, turning over in his cramped makeshift treetrunk shelter
>This wasn’t fun anymore
>Stray Shot had had enough of being a pony, he just wanted to go home
>He spends the next several hours tossing and turning, getting very little sleep between dreams of events over the last couple of days, or dreams of being a human back on Earth
>The moisture from tears on the fur of his face finally dried away as he drifted to sleep for the final time in the night
>Who knew what tomorrow would bring for the little stallion? Whatever it was, it seemed like he was becoming a part of these events whether he liked it or not

>Griff Awoke in a cold sweat, flopping over to his window and vomiting out into the street.
>Slumping down on the window sill, he rubbed at his forehead as he took in the crisp, early morning air.
“God damn it all...” He mumbled, as he tried to clear his thoughts and vision of his nightmares.
> Flashes as he failed, time and time again, to stop some threat.
>Piles of dead at his feet, strangers and friends alike.
>All crying out, grabbing and ripping feathers and flesh from his legs as he looked down in horror.
>Demanding to know why he was too weak, too frail and self centered, to save them.
>Like every night, they slowly tore til there was nothing left but bone, grabbing on and pulling him, inch by inch into the pile as he struggled, begging that the let him run, that they let him be a coward just once as a horrible beast slowly descended on him, giggling madly.
>punching the Window frame, Griff Mc Beakface pulled himself to his feet, slumping off to get ready for the day as he shook the memories from his mind, not at all wishing to relive them for a even a second.
“Wonder what shit will go fuck all bad today...” He grumbled out as he splashed some water on his face, taking deep breaths as he turned and frowned.

>His leather armor was....Almost unwearable any more, more patchwork then original for sure, and said work was barely holding together.
>He shook his head sadly, strapping it on anyways, not liking the idea of wearing nothing like so many had given into doing.
>He smiled though as he sat down with his axe, giving it its morning sharpening as he whistled.
>Out of all the things he had borrowed from that smith back before he came here, this axe was certainly the best thing.
>Nothing grand or fancy, but it had served him well.
>He however, felt he had let it down himself way too often though....
>He sighed, slinging it into its Carry Ring as he stood up, stretching as he headed out the door.
>Those Equestrians were good at patching up wounds, he had to admit that, though his shoulder was still sore.
>He laughed to himself, shaking his head.
“Wonder if ill ever get a day when im not injured....” he said with a shake of his head.
>As he sat down to a breakfast of some sorta sausage and oatmeal, he inspected his fellow early risers.
>No one he recognized, but none seemed to break the mold he imagined.
>Tired looking people who held their heads up high as they tried to be productive beyond what was necessary.
>A Foolish idea, but one he himself tried to stick to.
>He smiled, taking another bite as he turned his head up to the clouds.
>He hadn't actually just relaxed in like two days he realized.
>And as someone called his name, asking if he was free to help with some material hauling, he supposed today wouldn't be that day either.
>With a laugh and a sigh, He took a few quick bites, nodding off to the pony.
“No rest for the weary, right?” he said to the sky, one last look before starting his day.

nothing fancy or important, just a little look into Griffs day.

"Hey, looks like you're the best flyer, do you think you can give me a few pointers?"
>Her wings slowly rise before she pins them back at her sides.
>"W-well I wouldn't say that, I uh, I-I'm just a beginner", she says while says turning away trying to hide her reddening cheeks.
"Well your by far the best flyer here ," he says perfectly in time with a mid air collision.
>The both of them wince at the crash landing.
>"Point taken. What's your best distance?" She asked.
>"From my bed to the floor", he chuckled.
>Her wings flapped again, as if she were anxious to get back in the air. (1/3)

"Enough! Orders are orders and you know that, miss Sherbert."
"This is exactly how you treated us, and you saw what that did to this town! Fear and mistrust is not the way to handle it this time, can't you see that?"
"I'm not the one who decides that, I'm only here to do as I'm told. You would be wise to do the same, and tell me where the arrival is. You know I can find them myself, if you don't comply."

"We know what happened, and we're here to help. I am a royal guard of Equestria. You recently arrived here, right?"
>You relax slightly
"Yeah, I did. There are others like me? I'm not the only one here?"

"No, miss, you aren't. Many others have appeared just like you recently. Do you know about Equestria, and who we are?"
"Yes, yes I know what Equestria is. It's from the show My Little Pony, how did I get here?"

"In due time, miss, but first I have some questions I need to ask you...."

>All of the left and right and up and down has your head spinning, and by the time you're finally able to catch up to what all has been going on around you you're heading towards some other town far away with a pamphlet of information about you, including a new name for you and your new body

>The carriage jostled about as it passes over a rocky patch, and you look over to your companion guards traveling with you

Just as an aside, if we have anyone knowledgeable about it, no-nail furniture could be a good idea for something to work on. Blue Belle suggested it, and if we had competent woodworkers, we could make some basic furnishings for the town (always a nice boost to have a chair and table) as well as a possible export.
>>
So, what buildings are we going to make once we hit the next town development turn? What would we even have the BP to make? I know that a pub is in great demand, but I don't think we should only make one pub.

More, if you count all the similar games going on off and on through the years. Including OiE, Femto, and a somewhat serious attempt for an erp pony dungeon hub using GURPS. I think Mitch did some sort of trapquest thing using 3.5 and the erp splatbooks, too, but you would have to ask the cd colts thread if it's true or not.

>With a quick peek at himself including making sure all of him is still there, he tries to organize himself to stand.

old changelings are hive mind-ish and "Evil".

new changelings i want nothing to do with, plus theres 3 somewhat distinct types if you pay attention(one is even shown not to have wings) and i dont think anyone wants to deal with hashing that out.

That's saying that all old changelings are hiveminded and evil, though.
Thorax couldn't have been the only one, right? Plus, humans aren't just going to become evil because they turn into changelings.

no but even Thorax took time to defeat and control his hunger.

a confused person in a new body? one that Equestria wont immediately jump to help as is? compared to the other races old Changelings just have too many problems they immediately have to make them as viable an option in my opinion.

So what kind of thoughts would there be on having some type of day job that helps pay for your living conditions, in addition to that you earn some type of increase to certain actions based on your job?

Something like this is what I had in mind...
Farming - Endurance Increase
Chopping Wood/Hauling Things around/Construction work- Strength increase
Crafting or Art related things - Dexterity increase
Studying at Library/Learning new spells- Intelligence Increase
Guard Duty- Endurance Increase + Increase with Melee skills.

As for earning bits I suppose the money gained from that might be a bit random depending on the job though I do know that someone mentioned making it based like DnD with 10 coppers to a silver, 10 silvers to a gold and so on.

>I suppose I'm lucky I'm one of these Earth ponies. One of the Equestrians was telling me that my occupation was made a lot easier, since we just have a natural talent for tilling and shaping the land.
>Honestly, I was expecting this to take a lot longer, but I was able to get our first arrival accomodated and buried and his meager headstone chiseled in just under a day's work.
>Naturally, given the company of this hole of a town, his name was Zeeke and he was a rapist. From what I hear; his death was swift retribution. The Lord works in mysterious ways, and sometimes he doesn't.
>Whilst we can't actually spare the wood for coffins yet (And I'm terrible at carpentry) I doubt anyone would complain about the shallow grave he was given, tucked away in the corner. Still, a bunch of hyacinth flowers to represent forgiveness was offered to his stone.
>Working outside the town walls is much quieter, and even that racket those Gryphons were hollering about a couple a days back seemed dim. Suits me just fine. I suppose I can't discredit this town too much. The cabin is coming along nicely and I dare say it'll look quiet and cozy when it's done. I won't ask them or hurry them, it's a great favour after all, it'll take as long as it takes.
>Before, I mentioned how I would no way in hell be stepping into that forbidden forest. Now, I realise that if I want this small sanctuary to be a quiet place of rest, I'll have to step out eventually and see what I can cultivate from there, if anything. But all in good time.

I made this for a different game, but it's still intended to be used on 4chan. I don't know if it'll be useful for you guys but it could be adapted to suit the needs of this general.

Optional rules are that dubs lets you choose your gender, trips let you swap which table you roll on (Even to Odd and vice versa), quads lets you pick your race, and quints or higher lets you choose your race and gender.

Also for clarity's sake in the off-chance this could be useful, Hybrid is supposed to encompass things like: hippogriffs (like Stratus Skyranger) - pony+griff, the Dazzlings - dragon + sea pony, or crystal pegasi and unis.

It was a project that started development on /tg/ based on their very common CYOA generals. You are allowed to roll there but pony is banned.
Although some people fudge their rolls for their final builds, I found that the majority of posters were fairly honest with what they got.
In the final version of what I was making there would be Points Buy builds to do away with rolling altogether, but that's neither here nor there.

I thought it would just be good to share something that seemed relevant to this thread's premise. As mentioned, do feel free to disregard or modify it.

Some folks think that the day planner idea of earning bits and stat increases shouldn't be done. Mostly in the direction of the stats increasing as it would lead to long time players having a leg up over new players which i think is rather silly since you would expect new people to not be as good at stuff the veterens have been doing before.

That issue and the fact that we need to fully discuss this idea first before implementing it was heavily mentioned as well. There was also alot of talk about using the Kingmaker system, or at least parts of it that fit with our little game here instead of making the whole game Kingmaker the Thread/Game. IIRC most people had an issue with the roles and the rulership system that was put in place. For an idea of what the roles are and what they do see below.

In Kingmaker if you don't have someone to fill certain roles then the kingdom as awhole is hit by penalties for vacancy

Ruler "A kingdom without a ruler cannot claim new hexes, create farmlands, build roads, or purchase city districts.
Increase Unrest by 4 during each Upkeep phase in which the kingdom has no ruler."
Councilor Decrease Loyalty by 2; the kingdom cannot gain benefits from festivals. Increase Unrest by 1 during each Upkeep phase in which the kingdom has no Councilor.
General Decrease Stability by 4.
Grand Diplomat Decrease Stability by 2; the kingdom cannot issue Promotion Edicts.
High Preist Decrease Stability and Loyalty by 2. Increase Unrest by 1 during each Upkeep phase in which the kingdom has no High Priest.
Magister Decrease Economy by 4
Marshal Decrease Economy by 4
Party Planner A kingdom without a Party Planner suffers no vacancy penalty.
Spymaster "Reduce Economy by 4 because of out-of-control
crime. Increase Unrest by 1 during each Upkeep phase in which
the kingdom has no Spymaster."
Treasurer Reduce Economy by 4; the kingdom cannot collect taxes.
Warden Reduce Loyalty by 4 and Stability by 2.

On another note the name of the roles can be changed around a bit, did have a question however, would npc's be better for having these roles filled until players decided to take over from the npcs when it came time for it or would we be just ignoring this stuff at the moment?
>>
>>29986488
I don't think most of these roles are even important at all. We should have a city council, with one person acting as Head of City Council. The Head of City Council will be the tie breaker, and all matters are passed around and voted on by city council. Of course, members of city council who know more about different aspects of the city should come into play eventually, but everyone in the council should have at least basic knowledge of the subjects. Also, for as long as there is Equestrian influence on the town (which could be forever, or only until next month if something drastic happens), there should be an Equestrian as the Head of City Council. I think city council should have anywhere from 5-12 people on it at a time, as well. Also, not pushing this near as much since I know many people joined this because of the city building aspect, but we could possibly make it so that only those on city council get final say in what buildings the city makes or where is expands. Tell me what you guys think.
>>
>>29986602
Well,
I think that sounds just like 4cannon~
>>
>>29986488
Totally forgot to address the npcs holding positions bit in >>29986602.
I think the Equestrian at Head of City Council should be an npc, unless someone really wants to play an Equestrian, and if we don't have at least 5 people on city council we can have npcs fill positions until there are at least 5.
