Do you guys think there should be an official "Best of the Pony Fandom" poll in like a year or two where EVERYBODY votes? Equestria Daily, Fimfiction, Derpibooru, /mlp/, Facebook groups, etc, and they're all compiled somewhere?
It's where we decide once and for all what's the greatest thing this fandom ever produced over 7 or 8 years is.
With people like Duo Cartoonist leaving and the fandom winding down, it's unlikely that there's ever gonna be some of those crazy Pony projects that takes over a year to complete ever again. Like Snowdrop, & Lullaby for a Princess.
There could be several separate categories like:
Best Animation
Best Animation Exceeding 15 Minutes
Best 3D Animation
Best Song
Best Fanfic
Best Fanfic Exceeding 100 000 Words
Best Artist
etc...
There be an initial vote for each category, the top 5, then the true best.
It's just an idea at this point.

Good idea, but our fandom has fucking horrible taste for some reason so the results would be shitty. Best animation would be that Double Rainboom shit, best song would be Mando garbage, and looking at some of the things on FIMfiction is the best evidence for how horrible the fandom is at judging works so just imagine what sort of things would win in any fiction categories.
Nice idea, but it would invariably represent the opposite of what you want.

Content creators in this fandom don't believe in any piece of contant being better than others. This fandom really tries hard not to be elitist to other creators.
Even then, I imagine there'd be so many butthurt creators who wouldn't get on any list, and then proceed blame it on other's popularity or some other unreasonable bullshit.
