Keep in mind that if they took lore and worldbuilding seriously, if they made an effort to be coherent, characters like Flurry and Cadance would never have existed in the first place, definitely not as alicorns. They simply don't have enough special snowflake points for that, they don't "fit" in the setting, and they serve no purpose other than marketing. They 're just "there".

The title of this episode was "A Flurry of Emotions." The last episode had Starlight Glimmer becoming so pent up with anger magic that she had to siphon it into a bottle.

Starlight and Flurry Heart are both more powerful with magic than Twilight.

I don't know where this is going exactly, but I'd wager that the S7 finale will have something to do with "emotional magic."

For the third time today,
In the Baby Cakes episode it was established that foals of any race experience magical surges. Therefore is safe to assume Flurry's surgeing would be extra powerful. This hardly makes her "OP" since we know they fade with time. Reminder that Pumkin Cake could levitate herself and her brother, but that doesn't make her more powerful than say, Starlight now does it?
