Did some searching and found a couple papers that tried to analyze the "phenomenon" of people liking a show. I want to read more of these out of curiosity, if anyone has some examples of mainstream society trying to "analyze" us please share.

The stupidity of this article in analyzing "masculinity" can be summed up by this comment.
I feel like the author wants to write about how horses influenced the culture of cinema and then slapped MLP on it.
Apparently when riding a horse it's rhythm produces oxytocin and reduces anxiety.
I finished reading the article and found it, interesting to say the least. The author connects both horses and trains to literal and metaphorical means of transportation which is why autistic people are attracted to them, since they lack the connections in their brains that others already have. The guy who made the first "moving picture" of a horse's gallop suffered a head injury that might have given him some form of autism, which is why he obsessed with the concept of horses as an organic vehicle, and he was also interested in railroads and stuff. So autism leads people to obsess with concepts of transportation, such as animation being transportation between frames. Interesting stuff.
I found one that looks interesting as it was written in october 2011 and shows intimate knowledge of it's 4chan origins, however the website hosting that essay has a paywall for anyone who wants to read the essays, and I'm not paying $20 a month just to read this.

All these essays i want to read are on obscure essay sites with monthly paywalls goddamn.

Why should I give a fuck about some nobody trying to 'analyse my autism', whatever this could mean, ?

It's interesting to read how correct or incorrect these people are and how they analyze MLP fans for college level essays.
I guess no one wants to read essays.
