I was looking forward to a new episode, and now I learn it's going to be a shitty remake of Baby Cakes with princess Flurry "Synergize Branded Content Through Product Placement" Hearts.

Baby Cakes was good because of the end when Panko feels.

This episode is making me realize that I'm just not interested in the plot anymore, I just watch the show out of habit now.

The ponies have becomes less relatable. They're all VIPs in their crystal castles and wonderbolt academies, busy fawning over the new royal baby.

Now whenever they have a problem it's either a lesson they already learned and forgot about, or something that'll be solved with their bullshit super sayan game-breaking magic they got in the last few finales.

It was stomped by Vogel and McCarthy. Just because you're a natural born executive doesn't mean you will have any artistic vision or talent. Just because you're a natural writer, doesn't mean you know how to run the entire franchise as an executive.

Vogel and McCarthy switched places and they doing it wrong. Vogel no longer sit on his ass and approve shit so people like Haber and Dusedau are doin whatever they want, while he use MLP as a training ground for writing career.

McCarthy on the other hand, instead making sure that toylines and new characters have the pleasant design while the main storyline is consistant with previous seasons, instead focus on writing the movie and let other people handle anything else. Its like she want to write but she also likes money as an executive.

That's what they all are, shows which are supposed to be targeted at kids but also attract large adult fandoms because of worldbuilding, overarching lore and mystery. However, in the end most of them don't deliver because they either become a clusterfuck or they revert to being a kids show.

The only show I know that did it right was Mystery Inc. GF came close but needed a third season to shine, the ending was rushed. AT became a clusterfuck that kept reverting to status quo, although the last few mini-series were good. MLP:FiM shifted the entire focus to Starlight, with alicorn backstory, discord backstory, tree of harmony, starswirl etc ont he backburner for seasons. SU is filled with shitty filler episodes.
SvtfoE still shows promise but it depends on how they're going to handle the shipping drama.

That's just it, they try. They don't succeed. They pretend to being "deep", a cut above bland children's entertainment, but in the end most of them turn out just that unfortunately.

I keep hoping MLP:FiM can turn the tide but right now a show that started as lolsorandumb as SvtfoE is outshining it in character development, dramatic moments and overarching plot. You could argue that FiM was always supposed to be more of a slice of life show than an adventure show, but now they're just rehashing SoL episode premises they've already done.

Oh God, no. What made GF great was that it had an end. They had a story to tell, they used 40 episodes, and that's it. If 2 seasons is what the creators planned, the show didn't need any more episodes.
