"Certainly, Your Highness, how can I be of service?" You ask, tilting your head a bit.

Luna looks at you blankly for a moment before letting out a sigh. "Why doth the cute ones always be the thick ones?" She mutters, making your ears twitch.

"Fair Winds, thou hath Our permission to use Our name, though We wish that thou do so soon, if only so that We may stop using the Royal We and speak more naturally." Luna says flatly, and you blink in surprise.

"... Of course, Luna." You say. "I wasn't awa-"

"No one is." She sighs. "It's a bad holdover from when I was Nightmare Moon. Tis a long story, and frankly, a bit of a mess for me to piece together in the first place. Now, I understand that mine and mine sister's niece were in here moments ago, hence thou's mane and tail, and I'm quite sure that all of the traditional threats of harm of the suitor of one under the care and beloved by their others hath been given." Luna says, and you nod along in confirmation.

"Very Good! That means that I can skip that part and get straight to the important bit- explaining to you how to win fair Twilight's heart, though thou already seem to have thine hoof in the door!"

"Um... thank you?" You say, a bit bewildered at Luna's actions as the Mare of the Night (no connection to the other kind of 'mare of the night') spreads a wing over you and pulls you aside, walking you to the cushions you and Cadance had been occupying earlier.

"Now, prithee, tell me, dear Fair Winds, how doth thou wish to woo thy mare?" Luna asks, her eyes sparkling. "During the night of course tis best, fair Cadance is quite good at making recommendations, but she forgets the effects of a full moon 'pon a colt and a filly."

You sigh at Luna's outburst. "She's got important things to work on, Luna. Besides, it's just a day out at the library, maybe some stargazing afterwords."

Luna looks at you flatly. "Prithee, my work is cut out for me."

You blink in confusion as the princess gets to her hooves. "I see that I must take drastic measures! Rest well, Fair Winds, I shalt return!"

And with that, Luna sweeps from your room.

You shudder as you carefully make your way to your bed, and lay down, trying to relax and taking a deep breath as you reach for the book you know is going to be in the dresser drawer next to your bed.

'The Bluejacket's Manuel'. The guide to everything Navy, or at least, the basics of everything Navy. The how, the why, and the what you're doing.

You let out a little sigh as you start reading through it yet again. Some ponies would say that reading through it so many times is stupid. You'd say you learn something new every time you do.

As you read, your mind wanders just a little to your conversations with the Princesses- seriously, what did you do to gain this kind of attention?

Also, why is everypony threatening to break your spine? You get it, Twilight Sparkle is gorgeous. You're attracted to her.

But she's not seriously attracted back.

It's just a crush.


You continue to lie to yourself in your worry spiral when suddenly your enveloped in a dark-blue aura and lifted off your bed.

As you're hovered out the door of your room, all you can do is flatly stare at the crew members who are now looking at you in shock, and, when you rotate enough to actually see her, at Luna as she trots down the P-way with you in tow.

You sigh, unfortunately unable to do much else besides cross your forelegs and rub the bridge of your muzzle in an attempt to relieve the oncoming headache.

Luna, of course, is grinning from ear to ear, and is practically prancing as she brings you along. "Fear not Sir Winds! Thou shalt do well! Huzzah!"

You sigh. Well, this couldn't get any worse.

Sure enough, Luna trots right through the mess deck, floating you along, and you give your crew a half-hearted wave as you're floated along as they gape and watch you float by.

"... Did you see what she did with her mane? It looks gorgeous~!" You hear one of the mare crew members whisper to one of her shipmates, making you facehoof again.

Fantastic.

Luna continues onwards till you find yourself in a fairly nicely appointed cabin- the room is quiet, secluded, and the gray walls and drab floor have been covered by a starry black cloak, and pillows galore.

You're settled onto one of the pillow piles by Luna, who hums and looks you over for a moment. "Tis missing... something. But what?" She mutters as you look around.

You see a well designed picnic laid out, with wine and fine food to eat, a basket of books next to that one, and a glance up shows you that the ceiling is mimicking the night sky- top tier magic all around.

"Huzzah! I hath found the ribbons!"

If you have any prayers to say or want to beg for mercy/escape, now would be the time.

You take a deep breath, closing your eyes and forcing yourself to stay calm. At least whatever is going to happen is going to be interesting at worst, and hilarious at best.

You open your eyes and try to get off the pillow to go inspect the books in the basket when you're snagged by Luna's aura again, and you feel yourself get wrapped up in ribbons, and the hair-tie that Cadance used for the high pony is also replaced with a ribbon.

Your eye twitches. "Luna, I get that you're trying to make me... presentable, for something, but Ribbons are a mare's accessory!"

Luna giggles. "Fear not, Fair Winds! Now hush and wait right there~"

Luna dashes off, and the door closes behind her, leaving you atop of the pillows, tied up like a present for a Christmas Morning.

You squirm a little, just to get comfortable, but you're quite thoroughly tied up, and the idea of A- Annoying Princess Luna and B- trying to cast magic right now both sounds like a particularly bad idea.

You sigh, letting yourself relax a bit, wondering if you're currently just being 'presented' or if Luna has something else in mind, though it doesn't feel like you're tied up in a more sexual fashion, she did use some pretty long ribbon.

"-elling you Darling, just relax. I'm sure Princess Luna was joking." Rarity's voice coos out. "I'm sure she didn't leave 'a harem stallion' for you."

Twilight's voice returns, "Oh, I'm sure she didn't, but it's such a strange way to refer to Captain Fai-"

The door opens, and Twilight, Rarity, and Applejack gape at you laying on the pillows, all tied up.

You cough a bit. "Greetings ladies. Forgive me for my current state, or I'd stand to greet you." You try to say smoothly, though the blush on your face says otherwise.

Rarity titters behind a hoof and Applejack blushes in embarrassment. "Uh... howdy Capt'n."

Twilight's also blushing, but she smiles softly as she glances around. "... I think I'll be fine, girls." She says, smiling at them before stepping through and closing the door.

You waggle an eyebrow at Twilight, doing your best to put on a playful smile. "Do you like your present? I know it's a bit early for your birthday, but I figure I make -quite- the impression."

Twilight giggles at you as she trots over, sitting down close to you. "I must say, I wasn't expecting to be given a stallion as a present, but Princess Luna is old fashioned like that. A harem boy?" She teases, gently prodding your belly, making you squirm a bit.

"... Please don't be made at Luna, Twilight. She means well, even if she's being a bit overt about things. Though perhaps, you could untie me and we could enjoy some of this food together?" You says, motioning with your head.

Twilight giggles a bit, and moves so that she's laying next to you in the pillow pile. "Mmm, I dunno. You look like a giant plushie right now, Fair." She says, absently putting up the sound-proofing spell. "Maybe I should just take a nap."

You blink a bit, and turn to look at Twilight. "Before you say anything, Cadance and Pri... Celestia both volunteered to take my duties so that I can spend some time with you, though Luna was the one who told me where you were." She says, raising an eyebrow as if daring you to refute it.

"Naptime it is then." You say, moving your head so it's laying against Twilight and pretending to conk out, making her giggle and shove you a bit with a hoof.

"Silly, let me untie you first so you can at least get comfortable." She says. "Celestia ordered you to rest, and I'm not going to challenge that."

Her horn glows as she unties you, though she leaves the ribbon holding up your mane. "There, much better."

You smile at her before you shrug softly. "There's a saying I like- "treat others how you want to be treated.' So if you want to leave me all tied up, I could do so with you." You flirt unabashedly, making the alicorn mare's wings flare and her face to light up bright red.

"Wha-"

You grin playfully, waiting to see how she reacts in the end, before you get thwopped with a pillow by the embarrassed mare, making you and her laugh.

"Hehe, sorry Fair. But I agree, the food would be great. It's under a stasis spell, so we've got plenty of time to enjoy it." Twilight comments. "It's up to you really, you're the one who needs to rest, I'm just happy to get to spend some more time with you with your hair down... or I suppose up in this case. Cadance's work I take it?"

You hum in acknowledgement. "Indeed it was, though at this point I'm sure the crew believes that Luna did so. If only because of how she floated me through the air."

Twilight blushes. "Oh dear. Are you alright?"

You scoff a bit. "Only my pride was wounded, nothing more. Tis but a scratch, m'lady."

She giggles and nudges you as she floats the basket of books over and starts shifting through them, you looking down to join her eagerly. The two of you start looking through the books when Twilight lets out a little cry of joy. "The Legend of Clover! Oh, this is one of my favorites." She coos, pulling the novel out from the basket.

You smile. The Legend of Clover is a well known story, a fictional retelling of the story of Clover the Clever, that was well beloved by colts and fillies of all ages, that involved a bit of time traveling and two young ponies that traveled through time- Linking Point and the Goddess of Travel, Faust's best friend Epona.

"Good pick." You say with a grin, noting that other tales in the basket are all pseudo-romantic stories.

She smiles and opens the book, and you gently place a hoof on the side of it.

Twilight blinks, and turns questioningly to you. You give her a little lopsided grin that makes her blush a bit.

"Please, allow me." You say warmly, and Twilight smiles and, surprisingly, snuggles into you. You feel yourself blush as the mare settles against you, her head resting against your chest and under your head as you hold the book out.

You take a couple of breaths to keep calm, and start to read. "Chapter One- The Calm Story Forest..."

The story is old and well beloved, and rolls easily off your tongue, as you remember reading it before to your sister, falling into the voices with ease... light and airy for young Link, deep and brassy for Cannon Borg, Firm but still tenor for older Link, what have you, though Twilight insists on reading Clovers and Epona's lines.

The two of you rest against one another, enjoying the warmth and the company as you read the lovely story, eventually the two of you make your way over to the picnic basket and start eating and sharing the rather large bottle of wine.

You pause for a moment, a little confused as you look at the wine bottle. It isn't that big, but you've both been drinking quite liberally from it...

You're not sure what spell is making the bottle of wine infinite, but you're not complaining.

It's Twilight's turn to read anyway, and she's nestled comfortably against you, the both of you laying on your backs as she's snuggled into your side, reading from the book. She doesn't seem tipsy at all, and you hum a bit at that before you roll a bit, tired of looking at the book and the stars and instead decide to look at Twilight, though you're not quite sure where to start.

You let out a little hum and gently stroke her ears, and idly notice that you're hugging her too you with your other leg. She leans into the petting, obviously enjoying it, and keeps right on reading.

Her melodious voice draws in your entire being, holding you to her words and sounds and making you mentally beg for more as you continue to pet the mare, letting out a pleased hums.

Twilight lets out a pleased sigh as she finishes the story, and rolls a bit in your hug so that she can hug back, her soft belly-coat rubbing yours. "... That's always been one of my favorite stories, ever since I was a filly." She murmurs. "It's so beautiful to listen how Link and Epona bond, even if Link is incapable of saying a single word. What's your favorite part of the story?"

Twilight hums softly before she looks you straight in the eyes, one hoof idly rubbing your back. "... Was it because of... you know?"

You sigh a bit and smirk. "Yes, it's because I knew I was a prettycolt since I was a young colt... I kinda got the hint when my Mother had to inform me that the picture of me in a dress wasn't of some filly."

Twilight blinks and starts giggling. "Your mother thought you were a filly?"

"... That was a really cute picture as well." You mutter with a soft sigh, well aware that you'll never be able to show it to Twilight, considering that the only copy was burnt to ashes.

Twilight hums softly as she nuzzles before she pulls her head up a bit, her muzzle sliding across yours till she's looking you in the eye, muzzle to muzzle.

"Fair?" She whispers, blinking at you.

"... Yes, Twilight?"

"Can.... could you describe me, in your own words, please?" She says. "I-I know it sounds kinda silly, but it's important to me... please."

You blink, looking at her, as she sits up a bit more and looks down at you. "Are you really amicable to opening a relationship with me, Fair? The favor of this question is not lying or stalling for me... please."

I have my messes to sort out, as you know. I wouldn't feel right, draging you into my revenge. With a possible war coming on top of that, it would be rather foolish to start now. This is not a straight no.
I would be more than happy if we could still have moments like this from time to time. We can start to get serious when this whole conflict is over and peace is secured.

You bite your lower lip, and resist the urge to look away. "Right now? This moment? I'd love nothing more. But my answer has to be no."

Twilight blinks, looking a little confused. "But..."

You shake your head. "Let me finish, please."

Twilight looks at you for a few moments before slowly nodding, and you quickly start up again. "Twilight, you're an awe inspiring mare, not just in beauty but in intelligence as well. Use that mind of yours and see the conclusion I have- I want nothing more then to start a relationship with you, to learn more, to explore these... feelings."

You take a deep breath, "But we have to wait. I wouldn't be so cruel to have your heart and then die with it should this brewing conflict become the war we fear."

You give her a warmer, happier smile, which she returns with a sincerity that makes your heart thud in your chest. "When this is over, when we've secured Equestria's peace... when I've found those Nobles and brought them to Justice, then we can rest. Together."

Your smile becomes a bit more silly and lopsided. "Not that I would decline having you rest with me or simply having these moments of comfort and rest- if it pleases you."

Twilight smiles and nuzzles you, letting out a hum. "A very acceptable answer... or maybe a Fair one?" She teases.

You roll your eyes a bit and chuckle at the horrible pun. "Har har there, princess." You say, prodding Twilight in the side, making her laugh.

You chuckle and after a few more moments of snuggling the two of you break apart and return to the picnic basket, and start finishing off the food.

Twilight hums after taking a bite out of an apple, and tilts her head, as if she's thinking pretty hard about something.

"I mean, Equestria is an economic and technological powerhouse. Sure, we have more of a focus on Magitek over traditional technology, but our advancements, especially after the Crystal Empire returned and the lost annals of Earth Shaping magic was rediscovered. We're wealthy, we trade rather peacefully with all countries, never have started a war with any of the sentient beings on this Earth... so -why-?"

You frown a bit at the question, and think a bit. "Well, there's a bunch of different reasons that somepony would do this, though none of them make logical sense: Power, of course, being the big one. Being on the winning side of a war has quite a few perks if you're the leader of the Coup, because then you get to decide which of the followers you had you get to off to increase your spoils." You ponder, rubbing your chin as Twilight nods along.

"So the biggest primary factor would be greed, in all forms." You say firmly. "But being that Captain Cross is a noble, I'm sure there's a second reason behind this- what it could be, I'm not quite sure, but there's going to be more to it then just trying to take over."

Twilight tilts her head. "That's a fair point- after all, Celestia and Luna, and Cadance, are all powerful mages in their own right, and it's not easy to injure an Alicorn, Queen Chrysalis was only able to do so at maximum charge, and even then Princess Celestia was stunned for a short time and healed quickly."

You frown, rubbing your chin. The more you think it over, the worse this plan of the AWOL Officers sounds.

"What else could the end game be though, if they're trying to give blueprints and design plans to the Griffons?" Twilight asks.

Maybe they really hate griffons and are trying to gade them into starting a war with Equestria, and then are going to make off with the money and flee to Saddle Arabia- we might have a peace treaty with Saddle Arabia and are well liked with them, but we don't have an extradition treaty with them to hunt down criminals or have criminals returned to us from their justice system."

You sigh, finishing off a final glass of wine with a pleased huff before you tilt your head. "All things considered, it could be something personal, but whatever it is, they're seriously playing the long game."

Twilight nods before she stands up and stretches a bit as you finalize your thoughts on the matter. "In the end, it doesn't matter till we catch them."

Twilight smiles. "Well, enough of the distressing thoughts. I believe we've got another seven or eight hours of daytime to share, Captain. Up for a nap or another book?"

Twilight and you stare at one another for a few moments before breaking out into laughter, giggling and falling into one another.

Although to be honest even if we had been able to come up with anything it seems a little pointless. All the previous player worldbuilding was nice if maybe a little all at once (although it could be argued it is better to have it all at once, becoming to frequent could get annoying) but this just felt like it slowed down things for no good reason.
